Awesome Drummer

Another week another Graphicat Sketch. I really like the way this card turned out and since my 14 year old doesn't read my blog, is a drummer and has a birthday in July...he will receive this.

This week's sketch is pretty cool, Cheri has some amazing talent. I love her sketches and her sentiments. You have to check out all the new ones that she has, they are pretty cool.
I used the AWESOME sentiment, which you can purchase at Graphicat Stamps.
This metal drummer is from Kenny K, of course, now I found an easier one to colour but this one suits Dalton. I have the actual stamp, not the digi image. The graffiti stamp is by Whimsy Stamps and the music note paper is from Echo Park..Note to Self. The flourishs are from Tim Holtz and I used the last of my distress stickles Vintage Photo to give them some sparkle. :( The doily is sprayed with Mister Huey's, Warm Calico. I love the pop tabs, I couldn't decide what to put there and it just happened, the twine is unknown.

Remember to check out what the rest of the design team has come up with for this weeks sketch.

Quick card

I made this card quickly at work the other day.
I used the stamps from Technique Tuesday that came with May's Scraptures card kit.
I got the idea from  Penny Black Designer, Cathy Andronicou.

Check in tomorrow to see this weeks Graphicat Sketch.

CKC SMASH & other things

After we  I got my JEEP Mark thought I should do something different for holding my ownership & insurance papers, something not like the plastic folder they give you.
I was going to alter an altoid tin but it is taking for ever for the paint to come off so at CKC I bought a plain tin and some more alcohol inks. I picked up Terra Cotta, Caramel & Bottle (a green).

So this is what I did with the tin. It looks a bit like camo and fits in with the JEEP.
I am going to be putting the photocopy of my papers in it to keep with the JEEP.

At CKC on Friday I only took the No Rules Scrapbooking (aka smash book) class. I enjoyed it and finally started the smash book that I have had for almost a year. I am doing this one as about me.
These are the pages that I have done so far.

This layout is about Dakota's 4th birthday. I just used whatever stuff I brought with me to CKC (minus the cardstock...I got that off of Christa). It is okay, not great but I am okay with it.

This whole weekend was busy, took Riley & friends to see the Avengers and 21 Jump Street at the drive in Thursday night, CKC friday (where I won a book in the class and a page kit at the crop), run, wash the jeep and the 40th birthday party Saturday night. Sunday afternoon Dakota & I went to a birthday party. Today was yard work and first soccer game for Dakota...who was goalie and saved lots and then when out in the field scored a goal!!

Sketches:CY

Shoot....I had this post almost ready to go and forgot to edit it and schedule the post...GRRR

While you are reading this post I am taking my Smash class or No Rules Scrapbooking at CKC in Buffalo. I only signed up for one class and the crop this year, although I might take a 2nd in the afternoon if there is still spots available.

This is my take on the sketch done by Ann for Sketches: Creatively Yours
I am enjoying being on their design team and I hope you are enjoying what I have created with the great card sketches.
I moved the circle over but that is basically all I changed on the sketch.

The sentiment stamp is by Stampin' Up, the girl is by Penny Black and the papers are First Edition Papers (or something like that) . The flowers are prima, some plain with ink and some that were already coloured with the beaded centered.

Mother's day

This is my second post of the day, please scroll down to see today's Graphicat sketch.

Dakota made this picture for me at school. She even put in the blue and black hair.

This is us at Muffins with Mom this morning at her school. I think this is the first one I have made it too in all the years the kids have been going to this school.
You can't really see my blue hair in this photo, unless you look real close over my left shoulder near the bottom of my hair you can see the colour difference.
The finger in the bottom corner is Faith's, she is in grade 4 and took the photo for us.

Beautiful Smile Graphicat sketch

I love this saying that Cheri from Graphicat Stamps designed and I just love it.
Here is my take on this weeks sketch over at Graphicat Sketch Challenge.

I coloured up this great Kenny K stamp with copics. I used DCWV all Dressed up stack, T!m Holtz film strip ribbon and some unknown brads.
I hope you like my take on this weeks sketch and try it for yourself.

Last of thank you cards

I would have liked to take better photos but it was raining this morning and the cards were going to the prospective people today.

This first one I coloured Stuey at the cottage. The sketch is from iSpy Sketches.

This one I had a different image coloured and then I smeared ink all over it..grrr. The image is from  Some Odd Girl and the sketch is deconstructing jen.

This image is from Simply Betty Stamps and the sketch is from sketch saturday

If you want to try any of the sketches visit the appropriate sites and play along...they all have great sketches and amazing design teams.

This weekend will be busy with Dakota's dance recital so not sure if I will get much crafty time...I do have 1 card to do for my design team work, so that will of course get done.

Have a great day and thanks for looking and taking the time to stop by.

More cards

I whipped up a couple more cards yesterday.

This first one we got all the parts to put together a card at a crop, I changed it up a bit, moved the PP, took away a yellow circle and 2nd piece of patterned paper. Flipped it over and stamped Thank you instead of friend that was on the other side.

This one took only a couple of minutes..problem was ...while cutting out the owls I was basically crying my allergies had gotten so bad. Not fun.

This card was inspired by this one I found on Pinterest.

This card is based slightly on the sketch at CPS. The image is from Kenny K designs and coloured with copic markers. The patterned paper is all from my scraps bag. Sentiment from C & C designs.

Thanks for looking.

Even you are here just because and didn't know about the hop, thank you. If you would like to join in then please start at the beginning at the Scraptures blog. If you are on the hop than you should have arrived here from Teresa's blog.

To take part, all you need to do is visit each of the blogs in the order given. We are sure that you will be inspired by what you will see. Our design team has been hard at work! Leave a comment on all 5 blogs and then return to the Scraptures blog and post a comment that you have completed the blog hop. Choose any design team members take on the sketch that inspires you & scrap-lift it. Post it on our Facebook page in the album provided, in our gallery or on your own blog and add it to the Linky party on Scraptures blog by Monday, May 7 at 7 pm for a chance to win a prize!

We used a sketch from Creative Scrappers #42

I chose to make it a 11x8.5 layout, only because the album for my youth is in that size and I rarely do any layouts to change it. My colour for the hop was RED. Not my favorite colour but it worked for the layout. I was even able to use some paper from an old Scraptures Card kit. Obviously I have used the letter stickers a lot and am almost out of them, hence using a w and m for e and cutting a v to make 2 l's. I used more scraps for the flames, they were part of the design on some old patterned paper. The red border was a white Technique Tuesday tile and I inked it up.

Thanks for looking at my take on the layout and now it is time to hop on over to Tracy's blog.
If you get lost on the way, here is our blog hop order...
And then back to

Now keep on hopping...and remember to comment on all of our blogs for a chance to win.

Card Class

Last night was our monthly get together with Norma and her Stampin Up prowess.
Here are the two cards that we made. I added stickles for the bubbles and googly eyes instead of punching them out. I love it. I just wish the two background stamps were clear mount not wood mount.  Oh well.

For the past couple of months we have been deciding when would be the best time for me to get a new vehicle..it actually didn't start out that way..we were pricing out renting vehicles or flying to Disney for summer vacation and then Mark went on a tangent. One that I completely loved. I have always wanted a Jeep but never bought one.
Well on Monday I picked up my brand new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Safari Unlimited. It was raining but I still made the salesman, who is a friend and old co-worker, pose for a photo with me. It is called Orange Crush and of course has the two roofs.

I have been really busy making cards for the whole staff at my youngest's school. I got a lot of ideas from Pinterest so tomorrow I will show them to you.

Thanks for looking.

 Don't forget...
