I got the idea (well basically copied it) from Brenda and her blog.

Hello everyone! Over the past little while, a few of my crafty catz have had to step down to fullfill other obligations (Darn life and how it can interfere with our passion!) Graphicat carrots

So we are a week behind with the Sketch challenge...oops. For some reason we all forgot to do it..in my defense I was photographing a wedding on Sunday (assisting on Saturday) and ran out of time. It was a very busy week that is for sure. 

This weeks sketch I decided to do a holiday card, since I was on a streak. I loved this sentiment when Cheri came out with it and looked forward to using it on a card.

Card fun

Yesterday 3 Scrappy Friends were at the Maywood craft show and I sold a bunch of my holiday cards. I was feeling pretty creative last night. So in between helping Mark with building the new archway in the living/dining room I made 16 cards.

This Santa one I had made before but wanted to make more. I got the idea from Pinterest, here is the original one. (I made 5 Santa's)

This one I made Sunday afternoon. Here is the original. 

So far only 1 of these have been made.

Made Saturday night, I got the idea from the Papercrafts magazine Holiday Cards. 

The original artist is Kalyn Kepner. I made 4 of these but I still need to stamp "Dear Santa" on it.
Just looking for the right font to use. 

This one is also from the Papercrafts magazine. Original artist is Julia Stainton. I made 6 of these. 

I did this one quickly, and just 1. I used the snowman from SU. 

I have a bunch more planned to do.  I also have a couple of journals, clipboards and key holders to get done. I have 2 more craft shows this month, plus my stuff is at the Country Christmas Craft Store for the month's of November & December.

Graphicat Dance Naked

It's time for another great sketch from Cheri at Graphicat Challenges. This week's sketch just called for someone sitting on the edge of something. I had rec'd this awesome gypsy girl from Simply Betty for a facebook challenge and she was perfect. I thought the sentiment (which is sprayed with glimmer mist) was great with her and it is by Cheri as well.

Dakota wanted to try her hand at colouring in the gypsy girl as well. I think she did an amazing job. 

Scrapfest Oshawa

I was at Scrapfest Oshawa this past weekend with Christa and Scraptures...we had a blast. A couple of weeks ago Shannon and I talked about making t-shirts calling us Christa's minions..we didn't tell her. I bought the shirts and Shannon did the iron ons. We made one for Christa minus the minions and didn't reveal our shirts until we were at Scrapfest. She thought it funny. 

 I managed to do a couple of make and takes. This one was from Scrapping Bug/Learning Factory. I just loved the sprays used and bought a couple..will be listing my glimmer mists shortly.

 I knew after Kitchener Scrapfest that I wanted to do the make and take by The Art House (Cambridge)..this is the cool card we did. We did mono printing using gelli plates, paints, leaves and watercolour paper. It was a lot of fun and I like what I came up with.  The stamps used are my stampbox and designed by Karen from the Art House. I liked the sticky embossing powder we used as well.

This is one of the make and takes we did at the Scraptures booth. Some people had trouble with the spirilli but we always had a line up at the booth.

Here is a photo of my purchases, minus the sticky embossing powder. A cool template from the Art House, 3 dylusions sprays (love them), paper pad and smash pad from Scraptures and a witch stamp from your next stamp. 

I promised to show the layouts that I did at the crop a couple of weeks ago. I used Pagemaps sketches for both layouts. This first one is for my Disney book and is part of a 2 page layout.

This layout is about some tall ships going through the canal on their way to Canal Days in Port Colbourne 2 years ago. I was lucky and had my camera with me that day.

Another two weeks has gone by and it is time for another great sketch from Graphicat Cheri.

I liked this sketch alot, already have another card planned using it, but no real good images coloured up at the moment. I think I better get on that.

Scraptures

It is my last week to do the card kit for October. I loved the silhouette tissue tape that came with the kit but haven't actually used it yet, so I did. 

I went with a very simple card, using a piece of the patterned paper and the tissue tape. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Organize & Pinterest

I have been meaning to share this for a bit. I picked up this cool 4 tier shelf from a hardware store in the US. I love it. I am still working on filling it and finding a place for it on my desk. It fits in the corner but I have to move the corner shelves that sit there now. I got this idea from another friend of mine who purchased one as well. 

Dakota went to the pumpkin farm a couple of weeks ago and came home with three little pumpkins. I was trying to figure out how to display them so I went online to find what I can...this is what I found..

Last night Dakota and I preceded to paint the pumpkins white and black and one with glitter. It doesn't look to bad, the picture doesn't do it justice. 

I think we need a couple more baby pumpkins to fill out the vase. 

Graphicat Sketch 16

I'm back with another sketch from Graphicat. I missed the last one as I was on vacation. :( 

I had these Phineas & Ferb (my favorite Disney show) coloured up for a while and decided to use them. 

The picture isn't that great & I will try and take another one in the morning. 

The sentiment is of course a Graphicat one.

Paper is by Simple Stories...Awesome.  Tape is old Heidi Swap stuff I have had hanging around. I added some stickles to the chipboard corner.

Sorry I haven't posted in several weeks...I went on vacation to the cottage, got to take my beautiful Jeep 

off-roading (a blast) and spend some time with my husband and a great friend and her family. 

I may share some photos later, if I remember too. :)

Things have been very hectic for all the the Graphicat Design team this week. Cheri was on holidays, my inlaws moved in & DH's cousin from BC here for a visit.  I know everyone had a crazy time. So it was decided to use our favorite sketch..I was still so busy that I didn't have time to do a card..so I thought I would post one of my all time favorite cards.

This was sketch #8.

  It's my birthday today so I am going to Toronto with some friends for a night out. 

Garden Girls

I am trying to do some layouts. With design team work I seem to only be making cards and not getting any actual layouts done. I am hoping to get several layouts done a week..we will see how that goes. 

These photos are from 2010 and it is Dakota & I planting some flowers. I used the Bo Bunny Garden Girl line from 2011. The sketch is from Pagemaps. I fussy cut the flower from the patterned paper and added some stickles and another flower to it. 

Anyways, I am off to work on more 2010 pictures or maybe 2007 Disney album that I haven't completed yet (although I have started 2010's trip).

Busy little crafter

I have actually been creative over the past week. I made 2 of these cards, I got the idea from a newsletter..Penny Black blog I think. I used my Clear & Simple stamps, CTMH stamp and C & C designs. 

For this layout I used a sketch from Pagemaps (2 I think). The circle tiles are from CTMH that I inked up. 

The photo has my son and his friend at Canada's Wonderland on that years new rollercoaster (it's a fun one). The paper is Heidi Swap that I have had forever and unknown (I think from a paper pad that someone gave me some pages from). I added the two tissue tape "flowers" so that it would qualify for a challenge (circles and flowers). 

I made a couple of cards as well but they can't been seen until the reveals next week. I also did a couple of  other layouts that can't be seen yet either. 

Medics are standing by...

My baby brothers birthday is coming up on Saturday and I wanted to make him a card, with a sense of humour. 

I had already coloured up this Betty image from Simply Betty. I decided to write the front quote... "medical professionals are standing by..."

The sketch is from Deconstucting Jen , twine from the twinery and I used scrap paper for the whole card. 

Taste of Life

I know I have shown this layout before. It was done in a class I was taking at a LSS. I finally added some photos to it. These photos were taken at Lakeside Park in 2010. Dakota and Riley enjoying the water and beach.

I can't remember if I posted this photo. It was part of the layout tag at Scraptures.

The image is from Redonkulous Designs an great Canadian Artist. I have linked to her etsy shop but she now has her own website.  The sentiment is from Cheri @ Graphicat Stamps again a great Canadian artist..with a twisted sense of humour (which I love). 

The paper is from the Yearology line from Simple Stories (love their paper) and the sketch was from Sketch Saturdays. The maple leafs were made using a punch and scrap paper. I coloured the image with my copics.

Crazy~ Graphicat

It's time for a new Graphicat sketch!

I liked the layout of this one very much and it didn't take long for it to come together (once I finished colouring my image).

The Queen of Hearts is a image from Simply B Stamps, the quote is by Cheri @ Graphicat Stamps.

The paper is DCWV All Dressed up Stack (glitter). The rhinestones are recollections and the heart brads and ribbon are unknown. 

I liked this sketch enough that I did a second card with it.  The image is Simply B and quote Graphicat Stamps..recollections paper and unknown bat bling.

Grad Cards

Since I was in a craft show last weekend and grad season is upon us, I thought I would make some graduation cards. The first two were cut out with my silhouette and then pieced together. For both of them I added some white on the inside for the sentiment. 

This card came about because a lady at the show was looking for a grad card with an owl on it, so I whipped these up on Friday night. 

Here is where I got the inspiration and I used the SU owl punch.

I got this idea from pinterest but didn't actually pin it so I can't give credit. :(
