Deconstructed & Graphicat

I am the card designer for Scraptures kit club for December. As I am not shy about saying, I do NOT enjoy making Christmas cards..just not my thing. I saw this line, which is Teresa Collins, and thought "I can work with that." I am happy with the way both of these cards turned out.

This first one I used the sketch from Deconstructing Jen. I do like her sketches. The paper is the Welcome Home collection..Notes. The stamp is Inkadinkadoo Paper cut. The white lace ribbon no clue where it is from (probably a past Scraptures kit) and a bit of Prima taupe lace ribbon.  I am also entering this card in the DYSU challenge.

For this card I used the sketch from Graphicat (another Canadian company I love for stamps and awesome sentiments). The paper here is the same as above but I also cut out a piece from Ads. The stamp is embossed with Zing glitter embossing powder..I found it a little difficult to tell when it was done "embossing". The black is like an old shoelace or something or a string from a hoodie..something like that. The bling is Queen and Co.. I added some scrap vellum embossed with TH snowflakes embossing folder. I didn't want to cover up the words on the background paper and that is why I went with the vellum.

Thanks for looking once again. If you are interested in getting some of our great card kits just let Christa know over at Scraptures. Great service and great kits.

I have been creative the past couple of days.  This card was a copy of one I found on pinterest from splitcoaststampers. The second is using stickers and my CTMH word stamp.

I used a Phineas and Ferb colouring page for this one and coloured it using my copics. I do have the colour swatch somewhere but didn`t take a photo.

Angry Birds book marks. Again images from the internet and coloured with copics. I then covered with glossy accents and let dry. Hot glued to large paperclips. When I made my second set I used my NEW Imaginsce I-Bond.!!

Here is a layout I did using a layout from Becky Higgins book. I used Bo Bunny paper and unknown letter stickers and butterflies.

Thanks for looking. This weekend I have one more craft show to be in, so if you are in the Niagara Region of Ontario send me a message and I will let you know where it is.

Sporty layouts of 09

I finished some more layouts. This first one I started a while ago and stopped. It isn't really finished..I am waiting for some 4x6 page protectors so I can add more photos to the layout when it is in the page protectors. I am pretty sure I started out with a sketch from Layout Blueprints and then drew it out on scrap paper to change it slightly to make it my own (something I rarely do). I cut the title, bowling balls & 5 pin set out with my silhouette. The large one I cut out by hand as his birthday invite. The title colour I used (for the first time) distress stain in Vintage photo. LOVE IT! Want more colours. LOL

This layout is a sketch from Pagemaps 2 (so happy I finally got my book with a gift certificate).

This one I basically just went with the printed paper. It had a large space for a photo, I fussy cut a bit of the design to go over the photo. Then took 3 photos, cut them small and placed them around the page. The soccer cut out (and baseball from above) are from Mosaic Moments.

Thanks for looking again. It actually feels good to be doing some layouts instead of cards. I have some more that I have been working on, mostly ones that I had started and never completed. I have one I tried to work on the other day and it still is giving me troubles. I doubt I will ever like it. LOL

Thank you cards

I was asked by a co-worker to make 2 thank you cards for the guys at the dealership where she bought her new car. I made 2 different ones using sketches.
This one I looked up images of cars for colouring and found this one. It was from a free kids colouring pages site but I knew that the girl was a Kenny K image so I looked and sure enough it is Miss Thang. It wasn't credited but I thought I would since I love the Kenny K images.  The sketch is Card Patterns. The green paper is Bo Bunny from a previous card kit from Scraptures.

Copics used to colour image.
This card was a more simple one, the sketch is from Card Positioning Systems (CPS).  The paper is really old, don't know who it is by, just grabbed it out of my scraps bag. The circle background and the sentiment are Stampin' Up stamps.

Thanks for looking, I hope you like them (as I hope my co-worder does as well). :)

Christmas 09

I did another layout and ones that I always struggle with..Christmas. The sketch is from Sketch Blueprints book. The paper is Basic Grey Wassill, some of the embellishments are LYB and I can't remember who the title/stocking are from.

Thanks for looking, now it's time for Criminal Minds.

I did it! I actually scrapbooked! I did a layout instead of a card!
This one I did using some Basic Grey paper, chipboard, old butterflies and a black copic marker. The sketch was one on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog in September. I still need a title. I want a short one word one to go on the bottom left of the patterned paper ending at the photos. Dakota was just killing time at one of Riley's soccer games. Any suggestions would be great.

This layout is done using Helen Croft's layouts at Sketch a Little. The boys got to hold a olympic torch at the salon where my friend works. I used Bo Bunny paper and my sew easy tool for the stitching.

Deconstructed Sketch 26

I just wanted to share a card I did the other day using the deconstructed sketch.  I used my copics to colour the Hello Kitty image. The charm I have no clue, just something I bought on clearance somewhere. I used my new favorite border punch by MS (thanks Nicole).

My plans this evening are to actually scrapbook and not make cards. I am really far behind. Usually I am only a year behind, this time I am still finishing up 2009, I should be at least half way done 2010 right now.

Made by Hand show

Just wanted to share some photos from the Made by Hand Show in Toronto today.
I am exhausted and spent most of the day with a headache but still it was a good experience. Thank you Jacqueline.
It took us 2 hours to set up and less than half an hour to tear down. These are us setting up.

We asked the vendor beside us to take our photos. This is the first time wearing our 3 Scrappy friends shirts that my good friend Don did for us.
Here we are with Jackie Ludlage from Canadian Scrapbooker magazine.

We have 2 more shows this month. The 19th and 26th, both at area schools for their fall fundraisers.
Looking forward to them. Now to make more cards and other great teacher gift ideas.
