Sugar Rush

Well,

October has been a blur! We had Grandma and Grandpa visit, and Nonny and Poppy.
Then it was time for Halloween! The kids love dressing up, and Mom and Dad love chilling out with a few drinks in front of the house.  We carved pumpkins, and can you guess which belongs to who?  Then of course it was time to clean up the messy house.  So not my favorite job.
But at least we have the candy fairy visit to take away all that extra candy, because we all know who ends up eating it! Yes, Adam! he he, I do too.
Not only did the kids dress up, but Adam and I went to an adult halloween party! What fun!!
Peace and love to all,

Around the house

Well, School is full swing.  We are keeping busy!!
The kids love all the new learning, meeting new friends.
And mom loves the free time.  All though, I wish I had more of it,
I'm not in too much of a hurry to have them grow up.
So, we try to do fun things, like make pizza, go to the park,
have friends over to play, jump on bubble wrap, etc.
I try to clean when the mood hits me.  Oh wait, it never really hits me!
But between the kids, the coaching, trying to make the business go, we are staying busy.
We miss all you, and our doors are always open for visitors!
Love and peace to all,
Jane and the family

Back to School!!

Today was the kids first full day back at school!  I really think they had fun.  We do have to get up a little earlier than normal, but I hope that we will all adjust.  I love coffee.

They had some breakfast and juice, and it was time to go!
Tanek had to have a tote bag (apparently backpacks are not allowed in kindergarten), so I made him a star wars one.  It's a little big, but it works, and he loves it.
Darby does not have to bring anything!  I love that.  I am totally the mom that would forget.  I'm already putting notes around the house so that I remember to pick them up at the right times.  I really don't want to forget my kids at school.

I spent the time childless at the dentist today.  But since my house is such a mess, I'll be cleaning next time.  Or headed up to the high school for coaching responsibilities!
Oh what fun a new school year brings!  I can't wait to start helping in the class rooms, and helping them learn all the fun things that are waiting for them.
Peace and love to all,
Jane and family

Camping!!

We survived the weekend.  All of us.  And we had a blast!!

We spent two nights up in Big Bear camping.
In a tent. Making our own food.  Only showered once. One cooler of food, and one for drinks.
And lots of marshmallows for smores!!!  Did you know that tent's now have doggie doors?
Tanek wants to fish with his new fishing pole.  Unfortunately we didn't get it until it was basically time to leave, but he had fun catching a lot of branches!
Darby was just happy to run around and make new friends.
The adults, we enjoyed putting the kids to bed at sunset, and enjoy the adult company around the fire.  We did not enjoy getting up at dawn however because the kids were awake.
So hopefully it will become an annual event for the group that we went with.  And Adam even said that he had a good time (not knowing anyone).
So now, I'm catching up the laundry, and of course the house is a mess.  But it was well worth it.

Love and Peace to all,

Shimmy Shake

Yes, we are all okay after the earthquake today.  It was actually pretty cool.  The floor and house was shaking as if a giant was outside pushing the house slowly.   Even the dog felt it (he was a little freaked out!).  But now we can add that to our list of cool California experiences.

We went to a car show this weekend, and Darby picked out her first car that she wants.  Tanek and Adam get to see Adam's dream car too!

Then we spent Sunday at the US open of surfing.  Pretty fun, and a lot to do.  The best part was watching the motor cross big air freestyle.  You know the one where they jump on their motor bikes and do all kinds of crazy tricks.  Tanek told me he wants to do that when he gets big. Great!  Every moms dream....

So it was a busy weekend, and now the house is a mess.
More to come from our exciting life here!!!

Love and peace to all.

Life is a circus

Summer is always fun, and crazy!  The kids would spend everyday, all day in the pool if I let them.  So I try to take them every couple of days.  Tanek is a little fish.  Darby is happy just to float around like a diva.

We went to a baseball game one night.  I hate baseball.  Darby was even more bored than me!  Then we went to the Circus! That was fun.  I love elephants!!  Tanek and Adam loved the motorcycles in the cage.  Really cool!  Darby loved the food.
I got a job.  No joke.  I am officially the coach for the catholic high school's equestrian team (stop laughing).  I'm really looking forward to it!
Life is going along.  I'm not sure where the days go, but they are flying by.  I've done some reading, a little visiting with new friends, helping the kids keep up with summer time learning, so
the house is a mess.  Poor Adam.  I don't think he realized eight years ago that he was NOT getting a house wife.  Just a wife.
So I took the kids to the beach for some pictures.  Of course they each had an excuse to cry, but I was able to get about three pictures of them.  So it wasn't a total loss!
And yes, here in California it is totally acceptable to let your children run in the water fountain outside restaurants.  Why not?
So I hope each of you are enjoying the summer, and staying away from all this crazy heat.  I want snow!
Love and peace to all,
Jane and family.

Well, it's been a slow week and a half.  But we are starting to enjoy the nicer weather!
Tanek has fallen in love with basketball.  It helps that there is a hoop and court on the side of the house :-).  Naturally Adam loves it too.  Darby tries to get in on the fun too but as you can see, she always has a fashion statement item with her.  At all times.
We've decided after our visit to the beach last weekend, that it's going to be a weekend family tradition.  Tanek actually went in the water this time.  No, not all the way where the waves are, but he waits until a wave crashes up and runs in circles in the little pools that form before the tides rushes out again.  But hey, it's a start.  We'll keep praying to the water gods, and maybe we'll have him on a surfboard before we leave this place.
I've read four books this week, so my house is a mess.  Big surprise right?
And that is all.  More to follow....
Happy fourth!!
Love and peace to all.
