The Most Random Road Trip of 2009
It was a 29th of August 2009, Friday afternoon... stress out from work... needed inspiration and motivation...
the answer?!
ANOTHER ROAD TRIP DOWN SOUTH!! CANBERRA - The Nation's Capital!!!
Yes it was totally random... I just had the thought and instantly called my friend Sook Hui and my cousin 'Benjani' who are studying at ANU about my arrival.
So off I go right after the end of my work! Sadly not everything went as planned... wanted to leave my motel at 3pm and reached Canberra at bout 7pm... right after the sunset. Sadly I was kinda tied to my work n looks like I would only be able to leave at 5 pm =( and worse of all... driving in the night and perhaps have unleashing a hungry beast during my journey.
Just when I thought I could reach in time at 8pm to meet up with my friend for dinner... this happened:

Yes! A freaking jam which stretches about 2 kilometer long! Was stucked for about 1 hour!! Apparently there was an accident or spillage or some overturned truck on the bridge ahead. Thankfully driving on a road trip is a good therapy in itself... so was still patient and calm =) but tummy no! >(
Finally reached Canberra at 9pm! Only manage to meet up my friend for dessert... KOKO BLACK! =) GOod... but not good enuf to tame my tummy.
It was supposed to be a relaxing trip, but ended up....

.... helping Sook Hui with her assignment =*(
While she's playing games of FB?! WTH hahah
Later that night had my cousin to stay over my place... Mckers and football! Haha a night I will not forget. Man Utd 2 - 1 Arsenal.... Awesome strike by Arshavin (CRACKER) and Awesome finish by Diaby's header gave United a solid victory! =p
Next morning dropped Ben back to his apartment and on my way to meet up with Sook Hui and gang for .... DIM SUM (or Yum Char for OZs)

On the way for Dim Sum... Parliament Ahead
Well host was late.... so I had 1 hour+ to spend time reading newspaper and MSN.

Sook Hui & Friends

Have to say... Dim Sum there was good! It's been a while since I have a proper lunch!
This is actually my 3rd visit to Canberra and my 1st driving to the capital. I would say a better experience by driving... as you get to see lots more interesting places outside of the city.

So looks like I'll be heading down there real soon then!

Wollongong Road Trip
Finally a road trip!!
Siau Yun's bf came down from Malaysia... so she decided to organise a road trip to Wollongong which I'm very keen to visit as well.
To my understanding... Wollongong is famous for two things: Blue Scope Steel (They have a whole country of their own there) and Blowhole... which is actually located off Wollongong in a town called Kiama.
Hmm I really miss being unemployed... Had all the time in the world to do so much research before any road trip last year. This trip... only had half a day to prepare, but since is a day trip we only need to go the 2 main destination.
23 August 2009
First stop was to have Breakfast at Balmain...
Gotta charge up some fuel for the 3 hours drive.

*slurp Slurp*
Our first stop down south: Bald Hill
Overlooking the Sea Cliff Bridge and beyond (Wollongong possibly?)

That's the Sea Cliff Bridge

The Team

Jaclyn, Myself, Chun Yang, Siau Yun & Jac's Bro (sorry forgotten his name)

WOLLONGONG!!

Did not take any picture... that was taken from my car. The town was damn packed so we decided to forgo lunch and just have early dinner. From the view you can pretty tell Wollongong is mainly an industrial zone.
After a 3 hours drive we finally reached out main destination...Kiama.
I actually did not stop at the main blowhole cause after doing some research the night b4, heard that there's another blowhole called the Little Blowhole... which is much smaller in size, but have a higher chance of seeing it 'Blow'. The main blowhole have to depend entirely on the Correct tide and Correct wind condition.

Can you see the spurt from the lil' blowhole?

PICTURE PERFECT!
It actually took lots and lots of patience to actually get it to 'blow'... and to capture it at the right time as well.
Headed back to the main blowhole and boy were we glad we came here last... cause the tide was so low that there was 0% chance of the main blowhole to blow. So we just took some picture and had dinner before heading home.

Presenting the highlight of the trip... taken at the main Blowhole. Love the effect of the sky...

Gained something in my life today and it's about:
Moving on...
Letting go...

An easy concept, but takes damn lots of effort to actually make it happen!
I've had times where I need to move on with a bad experience or tragedy. Moving on in a relationship seems to be something that I've yet to tackle and understand fully. I don't mean in relationships that I had... but more like girls that I like or liked but I've never gave up on.
Spoke to an old friend of mine... someone that I've known for many years. I know she has no idea the feeling i have for her and that she does not have any interest in me as well. However, inside me today a force kept pushing me that I needed to tell her something and that it is something I'm supposed to do too.
She's someone that I've liked and I know I've moved on... or so I thought. She's in a different country and she has been in many relationships b4... but somehow the feeling of envy and regret still lingers around me when she's with someone and the *tingly* feeling whenever I see her.
So I told her everything on the spot... and as I chatted with her, 1 thing came into realisation... is that I always had the fear of rejection! It was the root of all evil for my inability to move on in relationships and letting it go! This task was meant to be done ages ago but just didn't had the guts to do so. After the conversation... I felt a new breadth of fresh air around me. This event had given me lots of answers I've been questioning myself throughout the years.
My advise to the kids out there? Don't be afraid of rejection! In relationship or in making decisions... if you're accepted or your idea is well conceived then congrats, but if you've been rejected, heads up! Opportunities will still be there as long as you take the effort to achieve it... WILL POWER is the key! Remember:

By the way here's someone I've always wanted to confess to the world... been admiring this person for a damn long time... gosh I can't stand it no more.
CECH FABREGAS!! Come to UNITED bah!! You're one my of greatest inspiration...
Till then! =)

Deep Thoughts

Being all alone in Sydney does makes you think a lot.
Recently an episode from Family Guy got me thinking...
I know... that cartoon is sick, disturbing and tasteless some might say, but to me is a good show which tackles people's life in reality in a no nonsense and frank way. Anyway it was an episode which casts of family plays Little Rascals parody...

Almost at the end of the episode, both Peter and Quagmire were through with impressing and chasing after gurls after a bad experience... so they both vowed not to be with a gurl never again! Fast forward to the future both of them were sipping fine juices(alcohol) living in a nice comfortable mansion... before the end Quagmire said: "Damn we're filthy rich! Cause there are no gurls to distract us!" or something like that down the line.
So maybe...just maybe, that might be true! Feeling the effect that I'm more focused and concentrated. Cause the time u spend are either yourself or work, that is all.
OR
Should I stick to the saying that "Behind every successful man, lies a woman"
Ahrgh! More thoughts to ponder upon! >(
Well well well!
Went to Sydney Entertainment Center to attend Hillsong's live recording as an audience for their Live 2009 Hillsong album. It's an experience I can never forget.

Too my surprised as well... it was my long lost class mate of CHS: Cheah Chin Fei, famed for his Scouting expertise and passion, 24th Birthday! His friends did surprised him as well... cause I was just as surprised! =p

The NSW Era
Howdy howdy everyone?! It's been a long time I know... but just couldn't commit myself to take the time to upload and write, takes up too much of my time. Guess that's what you get for working Saturdays! =(
So here are some updates together with photos of my time here in Sydney so far:
These 2 photos are one of the pics taken during my road trip from Melbourne to Sydney.

(View from Doncaster)Hot-air balloon, which normally flies to Yarra Valley during the weekend on a perfect weather

A town sitting at the border of NSW and VICTORIA~
After settling down a month in Sydney, I decided to go out every Sunday to a tourist attraction in the city so that I can introduced places for my guests to visit. You can't tell how good the food is until u taste it yourself rite?
So one of my first day trip was to the Powerhouse Museum near Darling Harbour. Is a museum for all thing innovative.

They currently have a Star Wars Exhibition. Believe me... is a Sin for me to enter such realm!!

Why you might ask...

HMmmmMmm...
These are some of the cool stuff I found in the museum. Sorry I can't show everything... took like 100+ pics!

Inside a Space Shuttle at the "Space" section of the museum.

Mornington Peninsula [7/12/2008]
Carie Phua came over to Melb for her roundabout flight from SG and she took a few days off in Melb to celebrate her bday. She planned to celebrate the event with a day trip to Mornington Peninsula.
People who were present on the trip: Kok Hwang (Zach), Soke Quan (Claudia), Emily and non other then the birthday girl herself.

Our first stop was in Frankston for brunch at Sofia's.

We then stopped at a beautiful garden maze.

"ZOMG! We're stuck again!!! @_@"

Our photography expert Emily! =D

From left: Emily, Carie & Claudia.

Strawberry farm. A special tourist note: Go pay $8 for a box of picked strawberries instead of picking it yourself.

Headed to a beach for dinner before heading to hotspring. Wanted to see beautiful painted beach houses... but we had no idea which beach we're supposed to go.

After our visit to the hotspring. Hope you had a great weekend and a memorable birthday Carie. All the best and take care!
