Facial Hair....

Matthew has been sporting a beard and mustache since the end of November. He has never grown his facial hair past just scruff, so it different to see him with a full beard and mustache. This weekend he finally decided to trim it up a bit, so its a little shorter now. He has loved having it because it sure keeps his face warm during this freezing winter weather.

Spring Time Where Are You?????

The snow has been crazy the last few days here. We have been getting snow for about three days now. I am so ready for Spring time, and warm weather. A couple of weeks ago we had temperatures in the 40's. What a tease that was. I guess we will have to bear the winter weather for a little longer.Spring break is coming up, and we are super excited to go home for a week. Hopefully the roads, and snow will all be cleared up by then. There hasn't been much happening in the Asay family lately. Just being pregnant. I am 29 weeks today, so only a couple more months to go. Last night we were just watching my stomach bounce around while the baby was moving. It is the craziest thing to see. I think that is the really fun part about being pregnant. I feel so blessed to have the strength and health to be pregnant. I can't wait to be a mom. School has been good for both of us. I am trying to keep ahead of schedule, so that I wont have to be so stressed out about it the closer it gets to my due date. Matthew has really been enjoying school. He has had some down time with all the tests, but I am sure they will start up soon enough again. Matthew's little brother Jared has finished up at the MTC in South Africa, and is now serving in his area in Zimbabwe. From his letters he sounds like he is loving being a missionary. My little sister Samantha has just decided to go on a mission too. She just started her paper work this week. We are excited for her choice to go on a mission, and she will make a great sister missionary.Last summer Matthew and I bought two lambs, and at Christmas time we were able to butcher one of them. We have really been enjoying the lamb meet. On Sunday I cooked one of the lamb roast we had, and it turned out delicious. So I thought I would share  our yummy Sunday dinner with you all..

Valentines Day...

I got my Valentines surprise early on Friday. We decided that we were just going to go out to dinner, but Matthew always has something up his sleeve. He has been telling me all week that he had a package of books coming from FEDEX for school, and they should be here on Friday afternoon. Friday he gets done with school early, so I picked him up and we hung out all afternoon. FEDEX showed up with not a package of books, but a Pro-Flowers box full of tulips. Was I ever surprised. I am so thankful for my sweetheart today. I truly do love him, and he means the world to me.

Some things that I love about Matthew are:
- How hard he works in school, and in everything he does
- His smile is the best. He can brighten up my day with it
- How smart he is. He is seriously the smartest person I know
- How he loves to surprise me. I love his surprises
 - How excited he is to be a dad. He is going to be the best dad, I can't wait
 - How cute he is. I can't get enough of him
 - How much he helps me out around the house. He is always willing to do things for me.
 - How he makes me laugh all the time. He is so funny
  - How he thinks I am beautiful even early in the morning when I have no makeup and my hair is crazy
  - How I can tell him anything, and we can stay up for hours talking at nights
That is just a few things that I love about Matthew, but there are many, many more. Tonight we are going out to eat at our new discovery the Mongolian Fire Grill. I can't wait. Also I am surprising him with a yummy dessert. Hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day!!

27 Weeks...

Today marks 27 weeks for this pregnancy. I don't know if I am that much bigger than I was in the last picture, but I feel bigger. I have two trimesters down one more to go. It really has gone by fast. Monday I had a doctors appointment, and everything went well. I always feel kind of dumb because I never have any concerns for the doctor when they ask, but everything has gone really well for me. I love when I go to doctor because I get to hear the baby's heartbeat. The doctor told me everything seems to look great. Little Ian is growing up to date, and I seem to be staying very healthy. They sent me home with the glucose drink for the glucose testing for diabetes. I have to that next week, so hopefully the sugar drink doesn't taste too bad. I am hitting that point of being tired all the time again. I feel like I need to take a nap everyday. I don't sleep amazing at night, but I can't complain to much because I really do love being pregnant. I love that I can feel him move all the time now, as well as see him move. Its so much fun to watch my belly move around. My back has bugged me a little, but my mom got me this amazing belly belt that does wonders. ( Thanks Mom). Tomorrow I am going to Moscow to my friend Cody's house to get a massage. I can hardly wait for it. Cody went to massage therapy school and she is treating me to a massage. I have never had one before, and I am in need of one right now. I have started to accumulate a few things for baby Ian. My friend Kelli gave me her old stroller, and Brittany Kliner gave me her old high chair. They are both in super good condition. The bedding I ordered for the crib has got here, and I can hardly wait till the crib comes so I can set it up. We are getting closer and closer to meeting our baby boy, and we can hardly wait!!!

Who's On A Mission..

Today, Matthew's little brother Jared left on his mission. He goes to the MTC in South Africa for a few weeks, then he is off to Zimbabwe. Matthew and I are so excited for Jared, and can hardly wait to hear from him, and see pictures. I have been thinking about how amazing my mother in law is. She has sent five boys off on missions so far, and still has one more to go. They have all gone all over the world. Christian: Brazil, Michael: Texas, Matthew: Russia, Daniel: Republic of Georgia, Jared: Zimbabwe, Africa. I am sure it has to be so scary to send her boys away for two years, but she is so faithful and encouraging. I hope that I can be like her some day and send many missionaries out to serve our Lord.

Funny Story...

If there is anything that I crave during this pregnancy it is ice cream. It seems like every day I have a little craving for something sweet and creamy. Friday I was out and running errands, and Matthew text me and asked "what I was up to?" He told me, " While your out and about, get yourself a mcflurry at McDonald's, and maybe grab be a coke." I stopped into McDonald's, and ordered a Oreo mcflurry, and a large coke. The lady at the counter asked me, " Are you doing okay Hun,has it been a long day ?"( because my order was a coke and mcflurry I guess). I said, " oh yes I am feeling fine." Then she asked me if she could rub my pregnant belly. I was not about to let a stranger rub my belly. I replied , " I really don't let strangers rub my belly." She was satisfied with that answer I guess, and said she totally understood. I took my order, and enjoyed the ice cream on my way to see Matthew.
This story just makes me laugh, so I had to share it with you all.
