We kicked of our fourth on the first. Why not start celebrating our nations birthday early? We went to the 3 cross church's totally amazing firework show- just like last year it was 45 minutes of pure awesomeness! Porter and Preston were mezmorized for most of it, until porter realized he was hungry and tired. Not a good combination for boys with last name Field.
Nothing says happy birthday America like a 100 foot, soapy, downhill slip n slide! Our friends decided that a giant slip n slide was needed to beat the 4th of July heat and add some fun to the celebrations. We all thought it was pretty awesome.
To end our week long celebration Preston "competed" in the annual Primary Bike Parade. And for all those wondering, yes, he won! ;)
What a great 4th. Happy birthday America!

The beginning of our 2012 summer
This summer has been a crazy whirlwind of...well, craziness. We kick off the summer with a short trip to Albuquerque to visit Matt's parents. We took the 12 hour drive and finally made it with the realization that 12 hours, overnight, and two small children is a recipe for disaster.
Preston loved seeing his Emma and pia so in the end we were happy to have made the trek.
In an effort to be out of a very clean house to keep ready for showings I had to really plan out our days and find some fun things for Preston to do. We have spent our summer mornings picking fresh Arkansas berries, going to museums, hiking and biking , going to the high quality "safaris" that Arkansas is known for, and swimming. Lots and lots of swimming.
And then the house sold and packing and cleaning took over. And Preston decided that dart guns was a lot more fun in an empty house where mom had no furniture to hide behind.

Porter is 6 months
I cannot believe it! My little smiley baby has made it to the 6 month mark. This is a remarkable milestone when you have a crazy 4 year old brother that is constantly using him as target practice or as a nice cushy place to sit. Sometimes even used as a mop to drag across the floor. Did you know that babies were so versatile?
Porter is such a fun baby and continues to surprise me with His fun personality. Right at 5 months his two bottom teeth made their big debut. Since then he thinks that he can eat anything. He is now 20 pounds and still in the 90 percentile for height. But I wouldn't want it any other way. I love this handsome, happy, chubby boy!
Right now he loves to roll and scoot around like a tank and wants to do everything his big brother is doing. He absolutely loves to splash in the water and chew on just about everything.
Happy 6 months porter!!
