We got to go to the Royal Ball again this year, and the kids were very excited! This year it was at the Chantilly Mansion in Layton. The mansion was very old and neat looking, and the grounds were beautiful.
The girls went as Anna and Elsa and Christopher just dressed up like a prince. I needed another excuse to dress him in his tuxedo before he grows out of it. It's pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Chris got some cotton candy and when I put a piece in his mouth he thought it was yucky. It is a really weird texture, after all. But then he licked it like an ice cream cone and thought it was pretty great.
Here is Shannon talking to Fawn and Tinkerbell. The kids stayed here most of the time, dancing with Tinkerbell.
This was the boy's favorite part, as well. He was dancing right next to that girl in the blue dress and the ribbons on her wand got really stuck to his very sticky cotton candy. They both looked quite distressed and had a tug of war for a few minutes before the girl just gave up and went and asked Tinkerbell for a new wand. We finally freed the cotton candy of all the ribbons and he was able to finish eating it.

Shannon got her face painted, which was really just an excuse to put makeup on. She was in heaven.
This was Chris when he discovered that Cinderella knew the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse. He was dancing much more enthusiastically before I turned the camera on, but I think you get the point.
Much like last year, Shannon's favorite part was tormenting the Mad Hatter. She chased him around most of the afternoon, and Christopher followed suit. Naturally, before I turned the camera on he was giggling like crazy, but all we got on video was a small laugh.
It was so much fun to see the smiles on these kids' faces. They have faced a lot in their short lives, and they've come through it like champions. I am so grateful that we are able to make wonderful memories with them and let them just be kids. We are very blessed!
