Q: how did the jcrc experience help in ur skills?
A: JCRC taught me to manage expectations which is a very important
trait in future work.
Q: what do u hope to do as a career and how abt the other engineers?
A: One of my lecturers told us that about half of the engineering
cohort will practice engineering while the other half will end up in
other fields such as banking, finance, business and insurance. With
the global financial crisis, most of y engineering friends will be
staying in that line for the time being. This is because most places
like banks are not only freezing their headcount; they are also
retrenching.
I will be pursuing a career in the engineering line with an emphasis
on project management. After a few years, I plan to do an MBA and,
depending on things then, either remain in the engineering line or
move on to other aspects.
I have also not ruled out the possibility of doing an M.Eng. or M.Sc.
in engineering.
