Time flies

How time flies... I am no longer updating this blog. At the last post, I had just newly joined my previous company. Now I am 5 months into my new job.

I will no longer update this blog and may choose to take it down at a later date. I suppose other blogs (save for the more well known ones) have followed suit.

Some questions which were posed to me in early 2009 (posted here for posterity)

Q: how did the jcrc experience help in ur skills?

A: JCRC taught me to manage expectations which is a very important
trait in future work.

Q: what do u hope to do as a career and how abt the other engineers?

A: One of my lecturers told us that about half of the engineering
cohort will practice engineering while the other half will end up in
other fields such as banking, finance, business and insurance. With
the global financial crisis, most of y engineering friends will be
staying in that line for the time being. This is because most places
like banks are not only freezing their headcount; they are also
retrenching.

I will be pursuing a career in the engineering line with an emphasis
on project management. After a few years, I plan to do an MBA and,
depending on things then, either remain in the engineering line or
move on to other aspects.

I have also not ruled out the possibility of doing an M.Eng. or M.Sc.
in engineering.

Some meaningful quotes

1) A man's friend asked him to lend him $500, which he could easily afford but had his reservations.

Man: "Lord, should I lend him the money or give him the money?"
God: "Son, shall I give you my blessing or lend you my blessing?"

2) Some years ago, a woman had a daughter who was a pre-schooler. She made a Mother's Day card for her mother, but contained a spelling mistake. Instinctively, Mom's eyes zoomed in on that error.  She also saw her daughter's face glowing with excitement and love. Mom felt the Lord telling her,"Love her, with all her imperfections." At that very moment, she also felt the Lord say to her,"And that is how I love you too - with all your imperfections."

The Other Organisation

attended their Annual Parade for the first time, since previously it all clashed with my exam preparation.

Left with this question in mind: I am operationally ready to serve The Other Organisation. But does The Other Organisation need me to begin with?
