Home Improvements

We were so excited for Matt to be done with school so we could finally take it easy at night. Ha Ha! At least now I'm the one that keeps him busy! As I write...it is 10:30 pm and he is in the garage painting bed room doors. After we found out we were having a boy, we decided to paint the boys room and get it resituated to add another one in there. If only it were that simple (and inexpensive). With only one room and three boys we had to be somewhat creative. We decided to get new bunk beds and a bigger dresser, but you don't want new furniture with old carpet and paint. So we ended up painting their room and our room. Now we have new carpet for all three bedrooms coming on Wed. which means we have to rip out all our old carpet and get Alli's room painted before they come. Yes...Alli is feeling a little left out, so we've got to change her room around a little too. But once we have that part of the house looking nice we will have to continue on...and on...and on. It's never ending!!!! I have to say, it was fun to paint and not cover the carpet though. And our hope is that when all is said and done our house will look better and we won't have to cringe everytime we have to lay the baby down on the floor. At least until one of the kids throws up on the new carpet! :)

Kids

One thing is for sure! Kids keep you busy! Now I know the true meaning of "soccer mom."
Alli just finished ballet for the year. She did such a good job in her recital. Her class was "licorice" for the performance of "The Toy Makers Shop" (or something like that). What a good mom I am to remember the name of the ballet. She and the boys are now taking swimming lessons and she wants to try her hand (or feet) at soccer in the fall. So no more ballet for now. Just as well...with 3 brother she's bound to like sports. She also just turned eight which means she gets to go to acheivement days. We got to go to a "mother/daughter breakfast" on Saturday together and it was a lot of fun. Though I felt like I should be the eight year old sitting there with my mom! I'm not mature enough for this yet!

Caden is playing his second (and last) season of T-ball. He's excited to start machine pitch next year. They have been doing a little bit of coach pitch this year and he can hit the ball pretty far. He loves it. He is also becoming quite a good swimmer, though he is still terrified of "deep" water. I tried to take him out in the deep water and have him swim to the side, and we ended up both about drowing as he clung to my neck and the "life guard" sat and watched us struggle to the side. That didn't help his fear of deep water much. It did, however, increase mine!

Taylor is also doing well in swimming lessons. He absolutely loves to swim and can actually swim quite well, but he HATES swimming lessons!!!! The last time I took him he was jumping in the water and going under and having a great time, but the minute I said it was his turn for swimming lessons he started screaming and running away from me so he wouldn't have to do it. I tried bribing him (and punishing him) but to no avail. I finally just gave him to his teacher (who is in our ward) and he participated by doing the bare minimum and cried the entire time. Then the second it was over he ran and jumped in the water and started swimming all over and having a great time. What a punk! He is also starting soccer tomorrow, which Matt and I are relieved he consented to, because while Alli was taking ballet he would go in her room and lock the door and try on her ballet clothes. Yikes!! He also said instead of soccer he would like to take ballet. We're hopeful that stage has passed!!! He is excited for soccer, especially since he gets to play with his friend Paden.
So with school, sports, lessons, and church activities we stay very busy, but it is very fun to watch our kids excel and try new things. The only thing we could think of to slow us down is another baby! Ya right!

Disneyland

In April we went to Disneyland. It was a fun time, especially since it was Taylor's first time there and all three of the kids' first time flying. Taylor was so excited to get there, but our first day there all he wanted to do was go back to the hotel and swim. He really liked the pool. So much that when it was time to get out, he decided he hadn't had enough and ran to the deep end and jumped in with out his water wings. Needless to say he is a little frightened of the water now.

One of the highlights of our visit was the Jedi Training Camp which Caden and Taylor both got to participate in. They got to learn how to fight like a jedi with light sabers. It was quite a fun show to watch.

The Wilson's

We're the Wilson Family. I'm Cari and I've been married to Matt for almost 9 years (on Aug. 17th). We have three and 1/2 kids. Alli is our oldest and she is 8, Caden is 6, and Taylor is 3. We are expecting our fourth in October and just found out today that we are having a boy. We were pretty shocked. We all thought it was going to be a girl. Alli really wanted a little sister, but said she was happy about a boy as long as he's not another pesty brother. The boys are pretty happy about another brother. One more boy to wrestle with. Matt and I are just happy everything looked good on the ultra sound.

Last Saturday (May 31st) Alli was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a neat experience for all of us. I can't believe we have a child old enough to be baptized! We had our family over for a luncheon afterward and we really lucked out with the weather. It turned out to be a really nice day. Here are some pictures of Alli at Temple square and at her baptism.
