Before long we saw this spider crawling out from under the truck. I had never seen such a spider. The boys wanted to keep it, but I wouldn't let them. First of all I didn't have anything but water bottles to put it in and it was too big to fit through the opening of the bottle. Second I didn't know what kind it was or if it was a good spider or bad.
It looks like it has a peace sign on it back.
I asked around the next few days and no one knew what kind it was or had even seen one before.
I finally found a spider site on line. I sent them an email with picture asking if they knew. After a few emails back and forth, they think it is a Banded Argiope Spider but they have never seen one with the markings that we found.
We could have been famous if we had caught it, so my boys think?!
