Cone Zone Girl

I thought I would wait and show you this with a little girl in it, but I couldn't wait any longer:

Her Daddy works in the construction business and I think this fabric is fabulous....sooooo a dress and hat for Audrey!!

The fabric is Cone Zone by Caleb Gray in the Construction Zone Steel and Tire Tracks White prints ordered from Pink Chalk Fabrics.

The pattern is Simplicity 5695 - 6 dresses made easy.

I added the Shabby Fabric Rose to the hat from this tutorial from Create and Delegate.

When I catch up with Audrey, I'll try to get a photo of her in this outfit.

Sweet Spot Origin

One more quilt that I started a long while ago is
Sweet Spot Origin;
that is Schnibbles Sweet Spot pattern by
Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.
using the Origins by Basic Grey for Moda Fabric.

I put this quilt top together back in
March 2011!!!  You can check it out here

It was actually quilted by my favorite quilter,
back in January.  I finally found time to put the binding on and photograph it.

This one is for on the wall in our dining area.

Dolce Brocante

This little quilt has been in the works for a long time. Here is where you may have first seen it in April 2011!!
The pattern is Brocante, a Schnibbles pattern by Miss Rosie's Quilt Company.
The fabric is all Dolce by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit.

This fabulous quilting is by Mary of Quilt Hollow!

How much does this quilting add to the quilt?

One outdoor shot, but the rain is coming and going today so this photo is not as bright as in real life:

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm working on the binding for another Schnibbles and maybe finished another little dress!

Congratulation Bari J.!!

Bari J. won First Place for single booths at Quilt Market!!
Her Lilly Belle fabric is gorgeous.  And I'm happy that a little bit of my sewing was part of that booth.

And sweet Dianne of Suburban Stitcher blog got a photo for me - not JUST of Bari J.'s booth - but of Bari J. herself modeling the apron I made:

Thank you Dianne!  It's a great shot!

Stop by and see Dianne's great blog - Suburban Stitcher - and you won't be disappointed.  She is very talented in many areas (quilting, knitting and cross stitching to name a few).

Bloggers' Quilt Festival

Bloggers' Quilt Festival - Spring 2012

I already told my regular readers which quilt I would show today:
Birdie Stitches!!
Hope they don't mind looking at it again.

This was a BOM from Corey at Little Miss Shabby for 2011!

It is difficult to show the full effect of the quilting on this quilt done by Mary of Quilt Hollow without showing some close-ups (lots of close-ups)!

Rapid and Tiny Zakka Swap or RATZ

I'm having so much fun - why quit swapping?
This time it's the
Rapid and Tiny Zakka swap.
Go to flickr if you want to learn more.

So this is what I made for my partner on round one -
May - key fob/chain holder:

She likes Hello Kitty and pink.

++++

And for the back, I embroidered the print on the fabric.

I'm mailing it tomorrow.  I hope my partner likes it.

One More Doll Quilt

Same song, second verse...kind of...

I joined another doll quilt swap over at Kris' Dandelion Quilts.
And the way I read the requirements, I had to have the doll quilt I made mailed by May 13th.  Whew.  It went in the mail today.  And now I re-read - it didn't need to be mailed until May 18th for my name to go in the early bird drawing!

(photo taken on the dock this morning)

Since I had all these fabrics pulled for the last doll quilt, I used them again.  These blocks are slightly smaller and the quilt is square rather than rectangle:

Off it goes in the mail to it's new owner in Michigan.
Thanks for organizing this little swap Kris!

Hope another "Mary" likes it!!

Beautiful Lilly Belle by Bari J.!!

When Art Gallery Fabric prints on their selvage to "Feel The Difference", they are not kidding!!

I just finished sewing an apron out of Bari J's new Lilly Belle line and kept thinking - this fabric is TOO nice for an apron.

But, my assignment was an apron, so I made an apron:

Bari J. asked me to make an apron for her to display in her booth in Kansas City at Quilt Market, so I sent this off to her.

I chose the two fabrics from the Lilly Belle line:  Flowerpop Zesty and Vintage Fence Lime and used view "C" from More Retro Aprons by Cindy Taylor Oates.

Hey, if you go to Market and see Bari J.'s booth, snap a photo and send it to me!  Thanks.

Dolly Quilt

I just finished a dolly quilt for a sweet little girl who is moving from Chicago to Houston tomorrow.

Her favorite color is blue.

Hope this fits the bill.

It's 19" X 22" and was so fun to find all of the "right" blues and greens in my stash.

I kinda' like the back too - Sugar Pop by Liz Scott for Moda:

The color is even better than my photo.

This finish is for Sew & Tell Friday  at Amy Lou Who's blog.
