Disco Stu and The Pregnant Mermaid!
Halloween at our house is kinda slow. We really don't get many tick or treaters (5 this year! two more than last year!!) This year we dressed up but didn't have anyone over or went anywhere. But that's okay we got to at least spend time together and talk! (a rare thing due to Jason's work and school schedule!)
Me? as soon as I put on my costume the trick or treaters stopped coming. ( I had a fitting for a woman I am making a dress for and didn't get a chance to change) I made it for An October Evening a fashion event that is put on with SLCC fashion institute and a local designer. I was the costume judge for the costume contest. I just thought it would be funny to be a pregnant mermaid. I was planning on being a mermaid anyways since I had bought this fabric for that purpose when I was in LA in January. I just wish I got to wear it out more, looks like I will just have to take it in for next year!
oh p.s. being pregnant and wearing stilleto heels don't mix...
Jason only decided what he was going to be last week, I found the jacket at DI and glued all the rhinestones. Jason laughed at me and said I was having too much fun with the sparklies!! Come on how often will a guy let you glue sparkles all over his clothes and will actually wear it??? The back of the jacket says DISCO STU. I think Jason's goal each year is to find a halloween costume that he can fro his hair out. This year it won him $25 bucks at a costume contest at work! He won second place! My favorite is the pants, I took a pair of old tapered jeans of his and made them into bell-bottoms, just cut up the sides and put in the bright green. I wanted to do a 70's flowered print that I had in my fabric stash but Jason vetoed it, he said that I was starting to have too much fun! I wanted to rhinestone the green part that I sewed in but he also said no that...oh well at least he gave me free range on the jacket...but I think he should of let me do more...I mean my work won him the $25 bucks right??...or was it the hair?
