FlashBack

These are some old pictures of Sophia and Carter that my girlfriend Julia took during a playdate in our backyard. You can tell they are from a while ago because Sophia looks way younger than in the pics I posted yesterday. Thats what happens when I am catching up, some things are out of order. But no matter what order they are in, they are stinkin cute huh?

Flagstaff

We spent some time in Flagstaff with our good friends, the Shermans. They invited us up to their cabin, as they have many times, and finally we were able to go for two, very short days. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we really didn't want to come back to the valley, at least not for a few more months!
We had a picnic on the golf course by the pond. We played in the grass.

More Flagstaff

We ate a delicious food. Well most of us did. The kids found it nearly impossible to sit down and eat when they could be running around.
We threw rocks.

More Flag

We skipped rocks.

We kept in touch!

We watched the fish.

A little more Flag

We laughed.

We admired the scenery.
We relaxed.

A little more

We roasted marshmellows and made smores.

More still

We played in the pool and water fountains.

We got some sun.

And a tiny bit more.

We ate by the pool!

We played some serious air hockey.

And we drove home! All in all it was a wonderful trip. We were only sad we couldn't stay longer. The weather was beautiful, the scenery was breathtaking, the food was too yummy and best of all the company was priceless. Thanks Shelly and Jessica. We can't wait to go again.

Playing trains with Dad

Sophia and Joe were both having so much fun playing trains together.

It was cute seeing how much they laughed at each other while they played.
I gaurentee that if Sophia had an older sister for a sibling she wouldn't be wearing bug pajamas and playing trains! I love it though!!! I wouldn't have it any other way!

How many Mackey's does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Saturday morning I went to ask Joe something and found the whole family replacing the porch light that had burned out! Although it started out just Joe, Carter and Sophia soon followed! I just LOVED seeing them all on the same chair from the kitchen table. Look at how they watch his every move!! If anyone knows how to teach kids to work, its the Mackeys!! Thanks Honey, one for teaching our kids so many great lessons and two for holding that pose while I ran to find the camera!

Happy 4th of July!

All I wanted was a picture of my two darlings on the 4th of July. Is that too much to ask?
It was from Sophia! Apparently right before nap time isn't the best photo opp time! Who knew? She usually so happy I promise!!
Carter thought the whole thing was funny!
After I convinced Sophia to get back on the couch by bribing her with the cell phone, this was the best shot I got! Sad huh? I won't be going into children's photography any time soon! They still were cute though.

Too Quiet

So that same afternoon Joe, Carter and I were watching TV when I jumped out of my seat and said, "Where's Sophia?" My brain had just registered that I hadn't heard or seen her since she was watching TV with us who knows how much earlier. Joe and I both had one of those terrifying parent moments that made our hearts race thinking of where she could be and not knowing if she was okay. This is how I found her! Very okay!! She was having a ball with the toilet paper in our bathroom. I always say a little prayer of thanks after these moments when my kids turn out to be okay. Recently while visiting at my parents house Sophia got into my Mom and Dad's bathroom, climbed into the tub and turned on the cold water...THREE TIMES! Each time I thought I had fixed the loophole to her getting back in, and yet each time she was in there even longer, with the water even higher. It just makes me ill thinking about how badly that could have turned out especially because at work I see how badly they can turn out! I'm sure none of you have stories like this about your kids huh? Any ways, she was rediculously cute when I found her here on the toilet that I had to grab my camera. She loved it even more with an audience!

Update!

Due to many many requests, I have done another quick update, and am still not up to date. But hopefully I will finish this week on my days off. I did get a lot of new stuff on here though. But there is even more to come, like more cute pictures of the kids and my new bangs! I know, you can hardly wait, the suspense is just killing you! Well the brief update about our lovely family is that we are just lovely. I am working three 12 hour shifts a week at Phoenix Children's Hospital and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I am kind of surprised how much I love it. I enjoy everything I am learning working as a nurse in the Pediatric ICU and just love taking care of the children their. Joe is still working at Honeywell and we count that as a blessing every day. Carter is three years old and funny as ever. I have some funny quotes of his I will hopefully post this week. Kids make the best comedians! Sophi is almost one year old and is getting so big too fast. She seems to pick up on everything so quickly, I think its because Carter is such a good teacher. They have lots of fun together. Well, until next time.

Valentines Day

Carter found a quarter and can you see that truely sincere excitement in his face? I love it!
Aunt Robin got excited with him!!
Valentines Day craft at Aunt Randy's. Most of the kids picked out hearts and glitter and other valentines day pieces. All Carter wanted in his craft were the eyeballs!!!!
Sophi had so much fun playing outside.

Her favorite were the tricycles. She tried them all out!

This is how she normally feels about her head band and bows, but luckily she has a very persistant Mom! She'll thank me later!
