Crazy Hair

It was a little stressful having crazy hair day the day after Halloween. Lynnlee browsed Google and found a really cute style that would be great on a regular day. She wanted it green on top and red in the back like James's.

James has been growing out his hair for this day since last year. He had quite the mo hawk. Good thing I took a picture of it in the morning because it was totally flat by the time he got home from school.

Halloween 2016

The weather was beautiful on Halloween. We started off with the Halloween Parade at the elementary school.
The minis were very well behaved and Kaden didn't run off and get lost for a half hour like last year so it was a win!

Since we have a ward trunk-or-treat we don't really feel the need to stay in our neighborhood for trick-or-treating. Plus, who doesn't love trick-or-treating with cousins! I would have loved going with cousins when I was young.
Marshall and I have dressed up in past years but we didn't really get into this year. Also it wasn't as easy to think of a costume to go with the Tortoise and the Hare.
We ate pizza for dinner and headed out while it was still light. James always run with the older cousins because they are fast and efficient. Lynnlee and Kaden and the minis went at a slower pace. Sienna was finished before it got dark. She really acted the part of the story well. She was fast out of the gate and then out of energy quick. Taggart kept going with Lynnlee way longer. So funny how much the minis personalities match the Tortoise and the Hare.

Pumpkin Carving 2016

We grew all seven pumpkins this year and then James found an extra pumpkin so we had an extra. This isn't an announcement. The pumpkins were a little on the small side but still worked great. Marshall has a great system down and we were finished within an hour. The kids each drew their faces on. Marshall opened up the top and used his special tool with his drill to gut it. Then he carved the face out with a saw. Voila! The trickiest part was rounding up all the kids for a picture and getting them to smile normal. Still working on that part.

James's Book Bazaar

James had his first book report of the year. It was called a Book Bazaar. He put together a trifold board about the book along with all the kids in the 3rd grade. Then they had them on display for all the parents to see. He did a great job putting it all together. Of course I helped make sure he formatted things correctly and glued them on straight but the rest was all him.

Cornbellys 2016

We got passes to Cornbellys again this year. It is nice living so close because you can go over and not have to stay too long. Here's pictures from our many visits there. We had fun going with cousins and friends and seeing friends there.

You also get tickets for all the extra activities when you get a season pass. Mining is one of the favorite extra activities.

The minis were a tricky age for Cornbellys compared to last year when they just went with the flow. This year the they had strong opinions on which activity to do and they were easily distracted when trying to get to each activity. It is nice that they are older and more independent because I never had to take a stroller.

The corn pit is always fun and we spend at least a half hour there.

Over fall break Betsy came with us to Cornbellys and we saw this cool dog show. It's amazing what they can do!

Halloween at Trafalga

I took James and Lynnlee to Trafalga with the Tibbs. Kaden was sick so Marshall stayed home with him and the minis. James was so cute to Lynnlee and held her hand while we were there.

Hee Haw Farms

I was a chaperone for Kaden's field trip to Hee Haw Farms. The minis came with too. It's fun to see Kaden with his preschool buddies. He is a good friend to all of them.

Sienna sat right in the middle of his class on the hayride like she was in the class.

Hee Haw Farms is a fun place with a petting zoo, slide, corn pit, hay ride and you can pick a pumpkin from the patch.

It was a busy field trip trying to keep all the kids together. We managed to get this picture of the class. The minis were not happy about leaving when it was time to go. I had to carry them kicking and screaming but at least they liked it there, right?
