Fall Break: Boating

It was chilly but really beautiful boating on the Saturday of spring break. 

My dad drove all around Jordanelle and we enjoyed the views, conversation and picnic lunch.

Taggart couldn't get enough of Papa Kelly's stories. He kept asking for more stories and then he would listen intently.

Fall Break: Friday Anniversary Date

Friday of fall break was the day we celebrated our 17th Anniversary. We knew it wouldn't work to celebrate it on the actual day. All of the kids stayed at Grandma Ruth's. 

We may be getting older but we celebrated like we were kids again. We started off indoor skydiving at iFly. I was SO nervous. I was second guessing my decision, freaking out in my head and wanting to chicken out. It was no big deal for Marshall and he did it no problem. I followed directions exactly and it all went well. It was really fun and way different than I thought. The way it goes is you get two total minutes. You do it in two- one minute turns. We had six others in our group so we each took turns. After I went it was nice to watch the others. The last thirty seconds you get to go up high in the tunnel and back down and up and down a few times like you are skydiving. I thought I wouldn't like it because of my fear of heights. It is a unique feeling though and doesn't induce butterflies like heights do because of the wind pushing up on me. I think I could actually handle sky diving even though I won't be signing up to do it anytime soon. 

We rock climbed after and then did the flow rider last. It was all so fun! I especially love the flow rider after staying in Jamaica and getting good at boogie boarding.

We had dinner at Tokyo Station and sat around the grill. It was pretty good but not as good as Beni Hana's and Tokyo Steakhouse in Lehi.

 

The temple was very close. It was so beautiful to see it glowing at the end of the street.

We got back to Heber when the kids were eating at Dairy Keen. We met up with them for dessert. We all slept over that night so we could stay up playing Dr. Mario.

Fall break Frightmares

We spent the first day of fall break at Frightmares. It was so fun! The weather was perfect, the lines not too long, and really fun Halloween decorations!

Thailand

Lynnlee's Gal Pals

Lynnlee had some friends over for girl's night. They played games, braided beads in their hair and made slime. She has had a smooth transition into middle school thanks to these awesome girls!

Library Fright Night

Sienna got to go to Fright Night at the library with some friends.

Fall Soccer

Fall soccer was fun chaos! Five kids playing on five different teams. We can't complain though because each kid has great coaches and great teammates. They may not have won every game but they all improved.

Conference Weekend

Conference weekend was fun and busy. Some of the kids had soccer games. Lynnlee got to do face painting with Hannah at a neighbor's triplets' birthday party Saturday morning.

When we were building our court we called it a racquetball court. That was so everyone would know what to picture. It wasn't because we are racquetball fanatics. Now that it's built we just call it the court. We have had racquetball racquets since we were newly weds but it has taken us this long to get them out of a box and use them in the court. I really don't know why because the kids had a lot of fun playing racquetball this weekend in the court. Kade had to get them down from this shelf in the garage.

Thanks to my mom we had Zupas for dinner. Betsy and Grace joined us Saturday night.

We had fun playing games that Grace brought. She slept over so we stayed up late for us and had the best night!

Making a bike...

It was so fun that they played Quelf again before conference Sunday morning.

I'm all about listening to conference while keeping your hands busy. Kade and Tag built this while listening.

I made a Jarvis family traditional conference weekend breakfast....breakfast pizza and orange julius.

Conference was amazing. Leading up to conference, I had been praying that I would be prepared for conference and the messages. I also prayed for the speakers. I felt like that was the best preparation. I really enjoyed all of the messages. The prophet's talk about finding rest was especially what I needed to hear. I feel so discouraged by the state of spirituality in the world today. Everyday I hear about more people losing their faith. It's disheartening. It's burdensome and heavy. I loved the prophet's words and feel comforted.
