37 weeks

Today I had another doctor's appointment. I am still dilated to a 2 but now 60% effaced. My doctor scheduled me for an induction on July 13 so I know that I only have to wait 2 more weeks. I sure hope that he comes on his own though. I would much rather have him that way but I don't think I can stay pregnant for another week. My back and ribs are absolutely killing me. I can't sit, stand, or lie down with out pain. So let's hope that he decides to come next week so I can be relived of the pain.

Little Miss Independent!

It seems like within the last month Vanessa has grown up so fast. She is now 22 months and learning and doing so many new things each day. Here are some of the things that she is now doing:
* She no longer sleeps in a crib. We got her a little toddler bed a few weeks ago and she loves sleeping in it. It was not a hard transition for us which we are grateful for.
* She no longer wants to sit and eat her meals in her high chair. She would much rather prefer standing in a chair and eating her food.
* She is talking like crazy! She now will use small sentences and each day she adds to her vocabulary.
* She is starting the process of potty training. We bought her a little potty and she has went in it a couple of times and understands what poop and pee is.
* She loves going outside and picking the peas and strawberries from the garden and eating them. It is so cute watching her eat them and actually enjoy eating them.
* She loves going to check on the pet rabbit. She likes to feed him grass and refill his water bottle.
* She loves singing primary songs and other fun songs. Her favorite songs include Popcorn Popping, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam, Wheels on the Bus, Old McDonald Had a Farm, If You're Happy and You Know, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and We are a Happy Family.
* She is growing fast. She weighs about 22 pounds and getting taller. She is transitioning from a baby to a little girl. She still fits into some 12 month clothes but the majority are 18-24 months and wears a size 4 in shoes.

Vanessa has changed so much and it is so fun to watch her grow up and learn new things. She is very smart and independent. We love her so much and know that she will be a great big sister to her brother.

Staying Busy

Wow, it has been a couple of weeks since I last blogged. Sorry I haven't posted any pictures. I will get some on here soon. Well, the last couple of weeks have been eventful. For our 4th Anniversary, we went down and stayed a night at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake. We also watch "UP" in 3D. It was a really cute and fun movie. We went and ate and had a blast just being together. Mark got me a gift card for a pedicure which I desperately wanted and needed, a book called "The Host," and jewelry. I got Mark the game "Killer Bunnies" and a nice shirt. It was such a great weekend!

The next weekend we went and watched the Manti Miracle Pageant. It has been awhile since I have seen it and it was fun watching it with my family. Mark's sisters, Arianne and Laura are in the pageant and they did a great job. Vanessa had a lot of fun running around and keeping us on our toes.

On Friday, June 19, I was able to take my first plane ride in my whole life! I know it sounds crazy that I haven't flown in a plane before. Mark's uncle Ken was able to take me for a ride in Grandpa Sorensen's little airplane. It was a little bumpy and I was kinda scared but I did it with out throwing up in the plane. That doesn't mean that I didn't throw up. I think that I would have done better if I was not pregnant. That made it a bit harder. It was a cool experience and I had a lot of fun looking down on Manti.

We then went to Delta for Father's Day. It was fun being there with my family. We played some new card games with the kids and had a lot of fun. It was also great to see my grandma again. I miss being able to see her. I was also able to see some of my cousins that I haven't seen for a long time. All in all it was a great weekend.

On Monday the 22, I had my 36 week check-up. I found out that I am dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced. The baby is in the head down position but still high. My doctor said that he weighs about 7 pounds now. So I am to expect around a 8 pound baby again. I hope he doesn't get any bigger than that. So I can go any day now and be fine. So I am starting to get things down and prepared for his arrival. I am getting very excited to meet him but also nervous. I guess that is how I felt with Vanessa as well. Maybe it is a natural thing.

One last thing. Mark got a job in Clinton. We are excited because it will allow him to be closer to home. He now only has to travel about 10 minutes to get to his job rather than an hour. He is still in the process of looking for an even better job. But for the time being, this job is great and allows us to save money for a down payment on a home. Things are starting to fall into place and it feel very good.

It's Offical...

We no longer live in Logan. We packed up all of our stuff and moved June 4-5 to Syracuse. We are getting things settled and organized in our new place, which is in the basement of Mark's parent's house. It is so nice to actually have a life now. No more getting up and cleaning the apartment complex or taking care of all the tenants maintenance problems.

Yesterday, I felt so free! It is an outstanding feeling. We are excited for this summer. It is going to be so fun being close to family. It is also exciting to know that we are beginning a new adventure. Mark is now looking for jobs and we hope he will land a good one soon. Life after college is so far good with great future prospects!

Vanessa is loving being able to run around in a yard and to play with Grandma and all of her aunts. She is having so much fun being in a house. It is exciting to think that maybe soon, we will be able to get into a house of our own!
