Spring break day 1

Today was a good day. Spring break has begun and we are having fun. Doug left us for the week for a conference in LA, so we are having a stay-cation. We had planned to swim all week long since the weather have been so warm lately. But. Today it was forecasted to rain at 12 so we had to come up with another option that didn't involve more tv and video games. So we went ice skating! yep. There's an Olympic sized ice rink not too far from where we live. It was so much fun.
The kids started out plastered to the wall and 3 hrs later they were zooming around like pros. Yes we stayed for 3 hrs. They didn't want to stop.

Max requested that we do this again this summer. He came home with a small goose egg on his forehead from trying not to trip over luke.
Luke's knees are all bruised up. He kept falling and popping right back up. I really couldn't believe how much fun they had.

After skating and a quick hamburger dinner cooked by Jack. The boys were off to play soccer at the park with our neighborhood pals.  The sun came out and it was a perfect evening.
Thomas took a ride in his stroller without even crying once, a first! Luke loved pushing him around and Jack made sure luke didn't go off the sidewalk. They take their job of taking care of their brother very seriously.
It really was a great day. Hoping tomorrow's the same.

Happy Birthday Luke

About a month ago this cute fun kid turned 7!
He had a great day! It was a busy one for our family. Max was off to present at the science fair early that morning but we were able to have everyone gather for a quick minute to let him open a few presents. Look at all these kids. Sometimes I can't believe they are all mine.

It was more presents after school of course. This kid was super excited in case you couldn't tell.

Mer had an away lacrosse game that night and Doug and Max had a campout to go to but we were able to squeeze in an early dinner at the Golden Corral at Luke's request. He was in heaven with all the french fries popcorn shrimp he could eat,

After dinner we came home and had ice cream cake and called our fun neighbors to join us.

It was a sweet birthday.
It was his year to have a friend party and he wanted to wait until his cast came off to have it. Which was good because we had absolutely no time to do it around his real birthday. So last week, 3 days after he got his cast off, we had a random friday with no school and we seized the day to have a party with a couple of friends.

He wanted his friends to come over and play with him.  Jack and Max set up and ran the party. Mer took care of Thomas the whole time. I really didn't have anything to do. Jack drew an awesome lego man for the pin the head on the lego man game.

They also had lego challenges and a whole bunch of backup board games ready just in case they needed them.

We had build your own big ice cream sundaes for dessert with all the fixings.

I'd say he had a fun time.

Happy Birthday Luke!

Science Fair and sports

Life continues. Thomas grows, children are fed and shuttled to and fro school, food is prepared and consumed, the house gets it's weekly cleaning, and I try to keep the dishes and laundry at bay. Sometimes the dishes and the laundry win.  Like tonight. I'm putting them off so I can post this.  Mer and Max's sports are in full swing. Mer has played 5 Lacrosse games. She started and played the whole time in the last 2. She plays defense and loves the team.  she's #27.

Max is in track and running the mile and 1/2 mile races. He has had 2 meets and has won all of his races. And not just barely won, I'm talking he comes in way ahead of everyone and sprints at the end of each, his PR's are 5:52 in the mile and I think 2:43 in the half. Not sure about that one.

I caught a little video of the first lap of one of his races. follow this link to see him. Its a bad video but you can at least see his stride.  He's in 2nd place on this lap

A couple of weeks ago it was Science fair and Max had to sit at the mall at the regional fair for 2 days while his project was judged.  He took 4th in his division.

Jack took 2nd place in his grade level for his project. He was SO excited. Though you can't really tell from the picture.

Luke's arm has only 11 more days until he gets the cast off. And now he is 7. Oh my goodness I just realized I never blogged about his birthday. Oh man! that deserves it's own post so that will be tomorrows goal.

Thomas is 2 months old now and is getting to be awake more and happy during the day, takes longer naps and sleeps more at night. Thank goodness!!

He's such a cutie and we love him.

He had a checkup this week and weighed 10 lbs 15 oz.
