The Girl Got Glasses!

Isn't she beautiful!

Mer has been getting a ton of headaches that come and go, and we finally pinpointed the problem I think.  So she got reading glasses on Monday, and so far so good.  They are actually dark purple though they look black.  I'm crossing my fingers that this is the answer because she has been pretty miserable.

She has taken to tearing out favorite adds out of all the family fun mags and plastering them all around her room. She's pointing out few of her favorites. Of course it all started with the milk ad with Taylor Swift.

I think it's pretty funny.  Maybe she'll go into advertising.

And here's Jack at his Thanksgiving feast last week.  They made their pumpkin pies themselves.

Too cute not to share.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Veteran's Day off and a TKD Board Break

We had a fun day off from school on Thursday.  We spent the day playing at the park, climbing trees, and cruising the beach with a posse of friends.

Scaring all the seagulls was fun...

And so was the sand...

but they couldn't resist the water.

And pretty soon everyone's shirts were off, and shorts became swimsuits.

Switching gears...Yesterday Max did his first board break in Tae Kwon Do.

Doug Missed it so Max did a little demo for him.

Pretty Sweet!!

Guinea Pig weekend.

Fall is officially here! We've had our A/C off for a probably a whole week now. Hooray! Unfortunately the weather change has brought on allergy season for me. Not fun.

This was fun though...we discovered Chick-fil-a's Pepperment Chocolate Chip shakes this week. Man are they DELISH! So good, in fact that we had to go back for more a few days later.

Meredith brought home the Guinea Pigs over the weekend.

Meet Rolex and Vinny! I had no idea Guinea pigs were so huge.

These guys did not help my allergies but the kids had seriously such a great time feeding them and watching them and overfeeding them.

These two little hooligans especially.

All in all LIFE IS GOOD in our neck of the woods.

Let the Festivities Begin

Saturday was a busy day for us. I had a craft show, Mer had a soccer game and we went Trunk or Treating at church.  Here is the costume rundown.

I present to you the M&M Queen

 The Sniper

Han Solo

and Luke Skywalker

Mer's friend Giao joined us for the night.

I love this picture!

Luke was a trick or treating pro and kept telling everyone Happy Halloween!

On the way home they were having a Warheads eating competition.  Doug gave us a pretty sweet laser show in the car with a new laser pointer he just got. I didn't get a good picture to show but I don't want to forget how awesome it was.

Sunday Morning came and all the boys put on their Halloween ties I had made for them.

Of course Meredith had to get in on the action and wore her Candy corn skirt, complete with real candy corn earrings.

And then that evening we went out to hit a few houses in our neighborhood.

We remembered to put on Max's face paint this time.

This is how trick or treaters found our house.

Luke's favorite continues to be lollies.
And that was a Happy Halloween Night!

Jack's Halloween Preschool Party

Jack got to dress up for his preschool Halloween party this week. He chose to be Han Solo.

Of course Luke had to join him as his sidekick...

Luke Skywalker

It is pretty cool to get to come have lunch at your big brother's school.

Luke even got to have his face painted.

Here's a cute picture of Jack and his friends.  Apparently Jack is quite the ladies man.  I frequently meet other preschool girl's parents who say, "Oh you're Jack's mom. We hear about Jack a lot."
We might have to keep our eye on this kid.

Pumpkin Patch

Jack's preschool patch visited a pumpkin patch last week!!
Luke and I had to join them for pictures of course.
