celebrating joyful times.
I'm still working on the Fancy Pants Wish Season collection but for this page I used a non-holiday approach. While the main color is red and there are some Christmas themed patterned papers and embellishments, the accent colors are non-traditional Christmas colors so I used that advantage to make a non-Christmas page. The red combined with the grey, black, and blue color combo make this seem not to Christmasy.

There's something about sitting in the dark at night with just the lights of the Christmas tree. It's peaceful and magical.

right now.
I combined the sketch challenge at The Memory Nest with Kelly's color challenge. I used all of the colors in the color challenge. I liked the idea of a collage of photos and other elements in the sketch challenge so I incorporated that here. I used scraps and project life cards cut up to create the pieces in my collage. Then I just added some embellishments.
This is my page:
I need to add journaling and figure out the date for this, but otherwise it came together pretty quickly and I like how it turned out!

Paper WingsProductions: Happy New Year
You may remember my Christmas shaker card from a few weeks ago. I am on a shaker card kick because I made a New Year's shaker card too.
For this card, I started with a stencil, embossing paste, and gold embossing powder. That is the base of my card. Next I cut out the frame, which could be any size you choose. Then I made my shaker. This can also be any size or shape you choose. I use old page protectors to make mine. I added some sequins inside, along with some Happy New Year sentiments.
For the sentiment, I used the Say It Winter Greetings stamp set. I used black and red ink and then I cut the words out to make them into little confetti pieces.
What have you made lately?

say cheese.
Today I'm playing along with Stuck?! Sketches. I loved this single photo sketch but I converted it to 8.5x11 size.
This is my cousin's daughter and her face is just adorable! Everything here is from my stash - some of it super old! The only newer item is the Studio Calico washi strip and that's even from several months ago. I love using up some stuff from my stash that I've been hoarding!
supplies
butterflies: Heidi Swapp
patterned paper: Making Memories (butterflies); Studio Calico; October Afternoon (hearts)
label stickers: Pink Paislee (Sentiment Series); My Mind's Eye (Unforgettable "Story"); Lily Bee (Sweet Shoppe);
flowers: Sassafras

under the mistletoe.
I'm joining Unity Stamp Co's blog hop with a CAS Christmas card I made using their Kissmas & Mistletoe stamp set. I've been obsessed with watercoloring with distress inks lately so that's how I did the bottom half of the card. I heat embossed the sentiment before I water colored. The top was die cut and then I attached some twine.
Are you ready for Christmas?
supplies
ink: Tim Holtz distress ink (peeled paint; pine needles)
embossing powder: Sparkle N Sprinkle (Black Detail EP171)
die: Mama Elephant

cup of kindness.
I'm joining Cupcake Inspirations challenge #340 today. The Verve has this super cute digital stamp set available for free until Christmas.
I used watercolors + distress inks to color my card base. The two grey/blue colors blended into a card base reminds me of a dreary winter day. I printed the cup of coffee and colored it with Copic markers. For the top I used distress ink. My sentiment is on the inside and I used the lighter of the two blue distress inks around the edges.
What do you think?

classiest person.
I'm playing along with CASology's challenge this week: toy. I wasn't sure what to use for my inspiration until I started looking through some die cut pieces and found the bicycle. I decided to take some of the colors from the flowers to watercolor my cardbase with distress inks.
My craft table is covered with contact paper, so I just rubbed my ink pad directly onto the table, sprayed some water, mixed it around, and painted stripes. I use Strathmore watercolor postcards and they are 140 lbs. Because I'm impatient, I use my heat tool to speed the drying process. Then I stamped my sentiment and added my bicycle.
What do you think?

stamp set: Concord & 9th (Being Classy)

Dear Santa.
My cousin is stationed in Georgia but she posted this photo of her son and I thought it was so cute. That Santa is a big guy! I just love how Eli is looking up at him.
I used the ScrapMuch? color challenge and one of their December sketches. The colors scanned a little funny but they're all included!

winter greetings.
Sparkle N Sprinkle is sponsoring challenge 339 at Cupcake Inspirations challenge blog and I decided to play along. I liked the snowflakes and the soft blue and white colors in this inspiration piece. Here's my card:
The embossing powder is semi-transparent and sort of iridescent. It's so pretty! After I stamped and heat embossed my snow flakes, I started working on my snowman. I stamped him, colored him with Copics, fussy cut, and then used a black Copic marker to go around the edges. This hides imperfections I made when cutting him out and gives him a more finished look. See below how he's not cut perfectly?
Next I grabbed the Twinkling Clouds flocking from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I used a die as a guide so I knew where my flocking would go. I just set the die on the background and used a paintbrush to spread on Magic Medium by Heidi Swapp. Then I took the die away and dumped on my flocking. You need to use your fingers to smoosh the flocking around and really get it into the glue. Then just dump off the excess and let it dry.
I lightly inked the edges of my card base with Weathered Wood distress ink. My last step was the sentiment. I stamped 'winter' in Stormy Sky, which is just slightly darker than Weathered Wood. I used VersaFine to stamp 'greetings.' I love this font in the Say It Winter Greetings stamp set from Paper Wings Productions.
Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Paper Wings Productions: wishing you Merry Christmas.
Today I'm on The Aviary blog sharing this Christmas shaker card with Paper Wings Productions that I think is super cute! To start, I used a polka dot stencil and distress inks for my card base. Next, I used a circle die to cut out the center of my card.
Then I started working on my sentiment for the inside of the card. I used the Fall Mix It Up stamp set to stamp 'wishing you' and Say It Winter Greetings stamp set for 'merry Christmas.' I heat embossed 'merry' with green embossing powder and I love the font for 'Christmas.'
My final step was to finish the shaker card. Using the Fuse tool has made shaker cards super easy! I added some sequins, a little resin piece from Freckled Fawn, and then I stamped an ornament and some stars from the Winter Wood Cuts stamp set, fussy cut those, and threw them in there too. Here's my finished card:
Thanks for looking! :)

he said.
I found this sketch at Stuck?! Sketches and went to work today. Back in July I had tweeted a couple Bengals players, trying to get them to tweet me happy birthday wishes. Well, it worked! I was pretty excited and I took screen shots of my Twitter. I just thought this was a fun memory to record in my scrapbook - who knows if Twitter will even exist in a few years!
My page has four smaller photos instead of two larger ones as shown in the sketch. I used two stamp sets on die cut pieces and label stickers. The 'he said' and the 'hello there' were just stamped directly onto patterned paper and fussy cut.

ink: Hero Arts (butter to orange ombre); Versa Fine (onyx black); Memento (Tangelo)

enamel heart stickers: Amy Tan
