Dr. Appointments

I finally got into a doctor here in Oregon. We found one that  came highly recommended but of course only works three days a week so it took awhile to get in, but we finally did. Aika had her 2 month appointment and Archimedes had his 15, although he missed his one year so he got his one year shots and he'll get his 15 month shots at Aika's next appointment. The Dr. said they both look really good. Archimedes weighed 20 lb 9 oz and was 29.5 inches long. I believe that he was 21 something at his last appointment at 9 months so he's lost weight. Not surprising though because he runs EVERYWHERE. The dr. told me to give him more milk and see if that helps me out. Last time he was in the 50th percentileish. This time, he was in the 5th.

The Dr. said Aika is also doing really well. She weighs a whopping 13 pounds 9 ounces.. meaning she has gained 5 pounds 9 ounces in the last two months. Not to bad huh? Like her brother, she is an outlier on the chart, however, she is in the 95% for weight and head size... 50th for height. She is a good baby. She sleeps a lot, many nights all night, but if not all night, she wakes up for one feeding around 4. I've been really lucky with good sleepers.

Charlie Daniels Band

The Charlie Daniels Band came to the Hermiston fair and guess who got to go. I did :) Andre and I left our kids with his parents and spent a few hours at the fair and the concert. Im so grateful to be close to family so we have the opportunity to go on some dates. We haven't been able to do that much since Archimedes was born. It was really neat to watch the concert and AMAZING when they played "The Devil Went Down To Georgia." Holy cow it was so neat. They saved it for last of course. It made me want to bust out my fiddle and practice a little bit :)

I got all dressed up for the fair :)

Aika's Blessing

Last Sunday, August 5th, Aika was blessed. Andre blessed her. I thought he did a really good job. Off the top of my head, I remember that he blessed her that she would be able to withstand the fiery darts of the adversary and that she would understand that there is a time and a season for all things. He also blessed her with patience. He also blessed her with light that should could shine to the world. She wore a super pretty white dress that my mother in law bought for her. My family was able to come up for a  quick trip. Not all of them though.. just my mom and dad and jake and brooke and len and their kids. It was so nice to see them, I wish it could have been a little longer visit tho!

two months

haha. I am so bad at blogging... once a month I guess is better than nothing! A lot has happened in this last month. Aika is growing so fast. She is already in 3-6 month clothing and fits them well. She is such a good eater. Andre and I went on a date the other day and she got her first bottle.. she drank SIX ounces. And apparently she would have drank more but that was all I brought over. I was amazed. She has gotten over her colicy nights and is a really good baby. She is super social though and is always happier when people are around. She loves to laugh and smile. Archimedes is getting used to having her around. He likes to "rock rock" when she is in her bassinet that rocks. He runs over to it when she cries and pushes it so she'll stop crying. He also loves to shove her passifiers in her mouth... or his. He is turning into a little kid instead of a baby. It is so neat to watch him grow and learn. He loves to push cars and loves to run. Hes got a LOT of energy, but he sleeps a lot too.. he is still taking two naps that are about three hours a piece and I am not complaining one bit.

This week, Andre cut his finger open. Well I guess he smashed it. he broke the tip of it and split it down the side. He had to get six stitches and we kind of thought he would lose his finger for awhile. It was the pinky finger on his left hand. That was about a week ago and it is healing so good. I have to attribute the quick healing to a blessing that his brother and grandfather gave him. Its so nice to have the ability to receive priesthood blessings in situations like that. It would have been super sad if he had lost his finger..

I guess the other big thing that happened this month is that I got called into young womens. I am the second counselor. Right now the presidency consists of me and the president, who happens to be my mother in law. Its a lot of fun so far and I am really enjoying it. Funny story, the bishopric was putting in a new young women presidency, primary presidency and relief society presidency all at the same time. Somewhere in that I got forgotten about so I didn't have a meeting with the bishop before hand.. I found out in sacrament meeting when they read my name. Luckily my mother in law warned me that something was coming sense I hadn't received a call, so I wasnt totally surprised.
