He wore them most of the time.

Settling In.

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged.  We've been trying to settle in to our new house and between having Lucy, moving and being the hostess for many guests for Lucy's blessing, it's been kinda crazy but we're finally setting in.

Before we moved, we took Lucy and Carter to their doctor appointments.  Carter his 2 year check up and Lucy her 2 week check up.  At that time Carter weighed 27.3 pounds (33%) and was 35 inches tall (52%). He got 3 vaccinations and it was terrible! They poor kid just cried and cried and cried.  He did not like getting shots at all...but then again, who does! He kept saying "her hurt me mommy." and "owie right here." It was very very sad.  So after the doctor I ran into Macey's and got him some cookies to make him feel better.  It worked.

Side note: I went to the dr the other day for a UTI and before we went I kept telling Carter that we had to go to the dr today and he said "no hurt me mommy." So I guess it's safe to say that almost 2 months later, the poor kid still remembered the traumatic event of the doctor.

Lucy weighed 7.14 pounds (36%) and was 20 3/4 inches long (69%). They did her 2nd PKU and pricked her little foot and she didn't cry at all.  Carter will be mad to here this someday but she was tougher than him!

The doctor was very pleased with both of their growth and development and Lucy will be taking another trip to the doctor tomorrow.  She'll be getting her vaccinations and hopefully all will go well!

We also went to The Living Planet Aquarium and it was so great! Carter loved it and it was pretty cheap and we could have spent hours in there if Carter would have gotten his way, but we were able to see everything in about an hour. If you haven't gone, I highly recommend it. It really is so fun!

Let's see...what else has happened...Oh yeah, we moved.  That was the longest day of my life...We got the truck at 9, I went to pick up my father in law at the airport around 10.  I came back and they had loaded the couch and entertainment stand and a few other big things.  We had AWESOME help from some of my old friends from high school and seriously we could not have done it without them.  They went up the three flights of stairs more times than anyone else! They were great!  We finally got everything moved out of the house by about 5 that evening.  Then we drove 15 minutes to our new house and started unloading everything.  Luckily we had two guys from our new ward come over and help unload.  It probably would have taken us all night to unload it if it wasn't for them.  Once the truck was unloaded around 7 or 8 we started moving boxes into the rooms they belonged it and tried finding everyones pj's and toothbrushes so we could get ready for bed.  All this time my dear father in law was hanging blinds so we wouldn't give the neighbors a show they never asked to see.  My sister in law and her oldest daughter also drove up from Las Vegas that night so we had fun chatting with them...eventually our beds were put up and we climbed in around 2 that night.

Two days after we moved we blessed Lucy and held a nice luncheon for all our family that attended.  It was really nice and the main floor was pretty clean and put away for it.  Luckily I had some awesome help (my mother in law and sister in law) to help me!

Two days later my mother in law and father in law headed back home to Virginia and my other father in law was the only guest left. He was such an awesome help and put in a few shelves for our closet and also helped us paint our kitchen! I was a lot of fun and we call ourselves pro because of how well it turned out.  Seriously, I'm still so impressed with ourselves.  If you ever need advice on painting, let me know and I'll tell you all our secrets.

After Marks dad left, it was finally just our little family in our new house.  We eventually got back into a routine for dinner time and bedtime and things have been great ever since!  We do have a huge list of to do's and at the top: a lawn!  We can't wait to get grass in so we can go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.  Unfortunately, that costs money so we have to save up a little while before that becomes a reality.

I hope you've enjoyed this super long post full of no pictures.  Lucky for you, Mark got me and iphone for my birthday so I have lots of pictures to post and I will do that right after I publish this post!
