Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful, warm Thanksgiving this year! We headed down to Vegas and enjoyed the 70's all week. It was fabulous. This year we took my sister Kenzie with us and it was so much fun. Mostly it was good because she got to sit in the back with the kiddos so she was the lucky one keeping them happy instead of me. (We really did appreciate all that she did for us.)

We ate delicious food, relaxed a ton, and played outside. We also went down to the strip, since Kenz had never been and we also went and saw the new Twilight movie. (It met my expectations...they were low.) Kenzie's birthday was Sunday, so while we were there, we threw her a surprise party! She was very surprised.

Red velvet pancakes from babystacks...best. pancakes. ever.

And now we can't wait to see the Clayton Clan again for New Years!

a few little gems

Playing Just Dance
I know they're cheesy, but aren't they so cute! Haha They've been my project for the past few days and I'm almost happy with the results. The buttons as eyes weren't such a grand idea...both kids just play with them and now they're drooping eyes or I guess I could say they're looking down...either way, I"m a little bummed. Also, Carter's shirt is too small for him. I wondered if it would be but I decided to just go for it anyway. Oh well I guess.

Six Months

Lucy turned a whopping 6 months old on Thursday and I just can't believe it! She just keeps growing and developing and it kinda makes me sad. With Carter I was so excited with every new thing he would do but with Lucy I know that every new thing she does it just means she's growing up and becoming less of a baby. It really makes me sad.

She's eating baby oatmeal and baby food now and she LOVES it! You can't get it in her mouth fast enough. Mark fed her tonight and he was getting so frustrated because she was trying to eat it off her hands and his hands, and then she would get really upset when he took a long time to get her more food. Watching from the sidelines was very entertaining.

Lucy had her 6 month well baby check up on Thursday and she's doing great! She weighs 15.8 pounds (39%), she's 26 1/4" long (67%) and her head is 42 1/2 cm (61%). So she's just a petite little thing but to us that means perfect. She had to get 3 vaccine shots and 1 flu shot at the doctor and she was a rock star. She cried a little but not nearly as much as Carter who only got one flu shot. I tell ya, they sure get wimpier as they get older! But Carter did get a sucker and Phineas and Ferb sticker afterward so the whole world wasn't ending after all.

Lucy can sit up all by herself now and she does not like being on her stomach or back anymore! She has very long hair, although there isn't a whole lot of it. Enough that I can put it in tiny pigtails though:) She now knows what it's like to be up and she doesn't want it any other way. She's really into toys and anything shiny or noisy. She reaches for everything and it goes straight to her mouth. She doesn't have any teeth yet (which I'm ok with) but she is drooling a lot and constantly chewing/biting on everything so I'm thinking she'll be getting some soon...and by soon I mean within the next year because we all know teething is the longest most painful process all babies go through, so wish us luck!

Pumpkins

Saturday we went to a little pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins. Carter was in Heaven! He loved being outside and thanks to Disney channel, he's almost obsessed with all things fall and Halloween. Our entire neighborhood is all decorated for Halloween and Carter kept telling me we needed to go buy decorations for our house. And Saturday we did that too. He was quite giddy.

Here are some pictures:

Oh Carter.

Tomorrow Lucy's going to her 6 month dr. appt so I'll be doing a blogpost all about her in the next few days so I thought it might be a good idea to do one all about Carter.

Recently Carter's vocabulary has exploded and he is a chatter box! I feel like we have very adult-like conversations and sometimes I think I expect too much out of him just because we can communicate so well. It's nuts.

Anyway, here are some of the little things he has said the last few days that made me giggle:

After a car commercial, "we need to buy a new car, mom" (If you've seen our car, it's pretty new...)

"I can't mom, I'm busy, I'm busy shooting the door"

Lucy pulled his hair: "LUCE!! We. Don't. Pull. Hair!!!"

After a presidential debate commercial: "Romney's on now!"

Typing on a word document: "I texting someone!"

It's like 50 degrees outside and he says: "I want the a/c on"

Carter: "That was alicious!"
Mark: "Its DElicious."
Carter: "No, Alicious!"

After going to the zoo:
Carter: "Where we going next?"
Me: "home"
Carter: "No next!"
Me: "home"
Carter: "no, Home Depot!"

He's the biggest pain in my butt, but man I sure do love him!
