22 weeks

Tomorrow I will be 22 weeks and I'm very excited...why? you may ask...no real reason, it just means that I'm that much closer to holding the little one in my arms :)

This pregnancy has been very different from my first one and so far, I like being pregnant with boys much better than girls. With Carter, I threw up 3-4 times everyday for the first 2 1/2 months and then I was fine and the pregnancy was a breeze (although there was discomfort at the end which is to be expected). With this pregnancy, I threw up 3-4 times everyday for the first 2 1/2 months, got heart burn right after that stopped, and now I get migraines on a daily basis. I also think I'm a lot more emotional than I was with Carter and I'm starting to think it's because I have 2 doses of girl hormones in me instead of just one...but who really knows right?

We are 99% sure we will be naming our little girl Lucy. We haven't decided on a middle name yet but I like Jane, Faith, and most of all Kate. Mark says he doesn't really know about any of them because he hasn't thought about it so when he does start thinking about it, we'll get a little more serious.

We're all doing well, I'm on medication for my migraines that works like a charm so I'm not totally useless but for a while I was drinking lots of caffeine. Mark said he had never seen me drink so much caffeine and I told him I have never drank so much caffeine ever in my life so that kind of tells you how terrible they were. I was surprised at how much caffeine I could actually have in my system...not how much I could handle, but how much the doctor said was ok. It's crazy because I never would have drank this much ever, let alone while I'm pregnant. But like I said, things are good now.

OK so back to us doing well...Carter is growing and talking like crazy now. It still baffles me how much a child can learn in less than two years. It's so cool. He loves everything boy: trains, balls, trucks...everything. One of the words he says best is basketball hoop. haha it's great. We can't wait for Christmas morning because we got him things that he knows and loves so we have a strong feeling he'll love them all. Mark is also doing well. He still loves his job and he's super cool and goes to the gym in the mornings. It's really impressive.

Carter is Marks number one fan.

Anyway, I hope more exciting stuff happens soon (um...maybe like Christmas?) So I can post more exciting things and not just mostly words. Gnight all.

Girl! Girl! Girl!

That's right my friends, Carter is getting a little sister and we couldn't be more thrilled! I went to the dr today and had the ultrasound. The dr said everything looks perfect with the baby so they're not worried about a thing. She's measuring at 19 weeks and 5 days so my new due date April 25th, ten days later than the one they told me at my first appt but that's ok (for now at least...I'm sure when it gets closer I'll be wishing it was sooner). Anyway, here are the pictures they gave us.

The Nutmeg

On Sunday, I was making a spiced pumpkin crumb cake. I had all the ingredients scattered on the counter in our kitchen. We had some friends over. They have a little boy too, a few months younger than Carter. So Carter and Wes were playing and were in and out of the kitchen all night. Then one time they were in there for a while just playing, and I heard Carter say something over and over again. I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying or what they were doing. Finally I realized that Carter was saying, "Mess! Mess! Mess!" So I turned to see what he was talking about.

I forgot that Carter was tall enough to reach onto the counter. And I didn't realize that he really had figured out how to unscrew things. He went through the whole bottle of nutmeg and his pans smelled like nutmeg the rest of the night.

Also, when I went to take pictures, he was very embarrassed. He started crying more each time I took a picture, so I only got 2.

Halloween

Carter was a zebra for Halloween this year. We went to our Stake trunk or treat and he had a blast. He wasn't much of a fan for going around and getting the candy from strangers but he loved running around in the parking lot and on the grass. He did enjoy asking me for more candy and looking at all the kids in their costumes.

He was being such a pain and wouldn't leave his hat on...and then dad came home and he had no problem leaving it on for him.

Let me go on a little tangent here. This boy LOVES his daddy! We're not quite sure why the obsession but it is adorable. When daddy leaves for work, he cries. When he sees a picture of daddy, he tells me over and over again that it's daddy. When he hears neighbors outside during the day, he yells "daddy". When daddy comes home, it's all smiles and grins. Seriously, he loves him.
Crying because I made him keep his hood on for a second.
Looking at all the trick or treaters.
Eating some candy.
Deciding which piece he wanted next.
Grazing for some more.
Mouth full of candy.
Enjoying his natural habitat.
Hope you all had a happy Halloween!

A Clayton Filled Weekend.

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to have Marks sister and her family come up and visit us. They have a crazy life and needed a bit of a break from it. These pictures are naturally backwards (thanks blogger) from the order that they occurred but oh well.

Once upon a time Mark had a birthday back in August and I was too sick to ever do anything to celebrate it until this weekend. We had a nice little surprise party for him and some of my family members came down to help celebrate. Needless to say, he was really surprised...
Look at all that fire. He's old! haha
On the same day we went up the canyon and hiked to a waterfall. We didn't get any pictures of the actual waterfall but here are some Christmas card potentials.

Clayton Family
Another day we went to a really yummy place called Tepanakis for dinner. It was delicious and so entertaining. It's a japanese steakhouse that cooks all your food right in front of you with fire and everything. It was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed it. Except little Bryn, she was quite frightened by the fire.

That same day we went to Cornbelly's. I don't really know how to describe what it is. Basically just a whole bunch of different fall time activities that you can do. We spent pretty much the entire day there so there's tons to do!

Zach and Carter playing on the spider web.
Carter, Bryn and Brisa climbed all the way to the top of the hay tower.
Liam and Shane climbing the rock wall.
Brisa made it all the way to the top!

Carter enjoyed watching all the kids, jumping in the bounce house and most of all, eating suckers!
We had such a great weekend and we can't wait until Thanksgiving when we get to see them again. Plus, Nana and Paw paw will be there too!

Zoo!

Last weekend we were able to go the the greatest zoo in Utah...that's right, Utah's Hogle Zoo. We decided it's so great because it has all the big, cool animals but it's still small enough that you can get through it in less than 2 hours. Carter loved it...ok, he mostly loved the balls in the elephant exhibit and he loved the birds, wild birds flying around the zoo more than anything else. But he still noticed the other animals and learned how to say monkey while we were there.

Monkeys
Gorilla (sorry it's a terrible picture)
Elephants
Carter loved the big red ball!

Rhinos

I've Been Throwing Up...Give Me a Break

Alright...I apologize for my lack of blogging for the past 2 months. Since Blogger likes to put pictures in the wrong order, all of the pictures go from most recent to not so recent.

If you don't know already, I'm pregnant! I'm 12 weeks along and because of weird stuff the dr. doesn't really know when I'm due so we'll just say somewhere around April 15th. I've been terribly sick and tired all the time so that explains no new posts.
Carter has grown up so much! He just had his 18 month appt. and he weighs 25.5 pounds (40%), is 35.5 inches tall (75%), and is head is 49 cm (78%). The dr. only had good things to say about him and his growth and development which is always a good thing to hear. He also let the dr. pick him up which is extremely rare but so great. He only cried when the nurse gave him his flu shot which was super sad this time because he could actually recognize where the pain was coming from and tell me ouch. I felt really bad.
Towards the beginning of September we spent a weekend with my family and attended Peach Days. We went to the 2 hour long parade, which Carter loved and sat in his stroller the entire time! It was great!
One day Mark was holding Carter just outside the bathroom door (probably while I was puking) and Carter threw this T and it landed just like this in the fan. It was incredible.
Back in August we flew out to Pennsylvania to visit Marks dad and step mom. We had such a great time seeing family. For the first time in YEARS all of Marks siblings, their spouses and children were there together. It was great. Grammy (the clown by profession) entertained Carter and Lydia by making balloon stuff...She's so talented and the kids were quite intrigued.
Here is a picture of all the grandkids together.
Carter loved spending time with his cousins Brisa and Katja
We went out for breakfast one day at THE biggest buffet place I have ever seen! It was humongous and pretty dang good too!
All the cousins enjoyed spending time outside playing with sidewalk chalk and dancing with their shadows on the car.
The adults got the chance to go crabbing while we were out there...it's a family tradition for the Schultzs' and because all the kids were there, they decided it would be so much fun to go together again.

Carter wasn't so sure about all the crabs we caught...
Pretty cool huh?!
This is Carter and Mark waiting for out connecting flight...it had been a long night, but they both did so well :)
Before our trip out east, me and Carter went to an awesome water park with my aunt and her kids. Carter loved being in the water and I loved all the fun water slides.
Clear back at the beginning of August, we said goodbye to our home. Mark's company closed the branch and transfered him.
Our nice friend Cory so so great and helped us move...I don't know what we would have done without him because I know I couldn't have lifted all that heavy stuff!

Turns out when you've been married for 2 1/2 years and have a child, you acquire lots of stuff and I assume it only gets worse...

Carter enjoyed the packing part...he mostly just took things out of the garbage and boxes to play with. (At least it kept him entertained :) )
No Juliet is not trying to eat Carter...she's giving him a hug. We tried really hard to get a good picture of them before we moved but this was the best we could do.
We also let them play together a lot since we knew it would be a while before they saw each other again.
Clear clear back in July, Nana and Paw Paw came out for graduation and stayed for a few weeks. It was so fun having them out here getting to know Carter better and letting Carter get to know them in person instead of just faces on the computer.

While they were here we went and fed the ducks...they were kind of lame ducks because they didn't eat our bread....
At least one person enjoyed it!
