Summer turned into Fall

Our Summer...
After Kit's birthday, we had a fun summer.  We went swimming, played at the park, and ate Slurpees!!

Happy 24th of July

Lots of "car" rides

We tried a big girl bed, but that didn't work.

Her outfit of choice everyday.

School has started...
School started really fast.  Kit has been busy helping me clean.  We have been watching a lot of BYU football.  Macey's was having a Tailgate party for the BYU v. Utah game.  Kit and I had to grab somethings at the grocery store and stopped in to have a little fun.  Kit got her face painted.  She chose a rainbow on her cheek. Kit went to her first friend birthday party for her friend Evie.  It was a baseball themed party.  Kit loved wearing her baseball hat backwards.  We also potty trained Kit during Fall Break.  She has been doing so well with it. She is starting to wake up dry in the morning.  Last night Kit went back to her big girl bed.  She did pretty good.  She woke up a couple of times, but after a little bit of rocking she went back to sleep.

Just playing with princesses before church.

Just another "talent" show.  Abbie is becoming such a great reader.

Some real baseball players came to the party and played baseball with the kids.  They even signed baseballs for them.

I just love how serious her face looks.  No matter what, I couldn't get her to smile for the camera.  She also insisted on wearing her hat backwards.  I guess she takes her baseball very seriously???

Halloween 2013

Kit wanted to help me carve the pumpkin.  I gave her safety scissors...

Happy Pumpkin Carving

Kit really wanted Mark to be Kermit for Halloween.

I was a skeleton.  (Yes, that is a representation of the baby...Mark and I are expecting another baby in May!!!)

Kit's pumpkin was a Minion

I did Frankenstein.

And of course, at Kit's request...Mark did Kermit.

Steve Harvey--Who Wants to Be a Millionaire SNL Skit

Mark and I have been watching a lot of Family Feud lately, especially the new ones hosted by Steve Harvey. On one of the episodes, he mentioned this skit done about him hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.  We were dying laughing.

Summer 2013

I guess I will just keep doing monthly blog posts???

Right now (as I type this), Kit is taking off her diaper...She hates being in a dirty diaper.  She is so close to being potty trained. She tells me when she is messy.  One morning I went in to get her up and she had taken off her pjs and was holding her dirty diaper saying, "Poopie Mommy.  Poopie.  Roll it."  Then a couple of days later during her nap, she started screaming.  I went in to see what the problem was and she had taken off her diaper and was saying telling me it was poopie.  Yep...we had to take off her night gown (which was her outfit of choice for the day) and change her sheets.

Kit is obsessed the Despicable Me and the minions.  We watch it at least 2 times a day.  During the month of July, McDonald's was giving out minions in their happy meals.  Let's just say we went there a lot! We went to see Despicable Me 2 with Aunt Alyiah for her birthday.  It was Kit's first movie.  She loved all the minions, but she did not like the big purple bad guy at the end.  It scared her a bit.

She has grown up so much.  She is officially a little girl.
Newborn, 1 year, & 2 years

Mini Me...Scary!!!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Kit's 2 year old pictures.

Since her birthday we haven't really gone anywhere.  We have been playing outside, swimming, and watching a lot of Mickey, Little Einsteins, Bubble Guppies, and 101 Dalmatians. We have been making lots of art projects--painting, drawing, making caterpillars.

Cousins (Tess, Chloe, and Lucy) were up from Arizona this month.  Kit had cousin overload.  She loved being with all her cousins.  We went to the dinosaur museum, swimming, the farm, played.  She was sad to see them leave.

Summer has gone way too fast.  Today during our trip to the library I was reminded that school starts in 3 weeks.  Where did the summer go?

Kit's 2nd Birthday

Kit's birthday was a lot of fun this year.  We dragged it out for a few days.  It started on Thursday when we had the family birthday party.  Her theme this year was Old Macdonald.  That is her favorite song.  She always asks me to sing it.

Earlier in the day we went with Grandma, Amy, Kaden, and Ellie to the farm at Thanksgiving Point.  She loved seeing all the animals.  Her favorite animal was the cow.  She rode the ponies and didn't want to stop when it was time to leave.

Then came Saturday--her actual birthday!  It was a fun day.  She started out with waffles for breakfast, had a Happy Meal for lunch and cake and ice cream for dinner!  She got books, dress ups, clothes, a bubble toy, a Rapunzel doll, a Minnie Bow-tique toy, and a Minnie bike for her birthday (more about the bike later...)

So this bike...yea it was too big for her.  I ended up taking it back to the store.  We haven't gotten the replacement yet, but I am planning on getting her a Dora Tricycle.  She could barely touch the ground with the seat and handle bars all the way down.  Plus the other reason we took it back is because the back tire would lock up and not turn.  Come to find out the bearing was busted.

You can imagine that by her third time being sung Happy Birthday to she was a pro at it!  She did a little dance at the end right before blowing out the candles.
