Grandpa's Visit

Grandpa Hawkes dropped by for a weekend visit. The weather was in the high 70's to 80's all week. We did a lot of playing outside and put many miles on our bikes. We surprised Lucas a visit to school during lunch. Isaac was away with his class on a field trip.

Grandpa and Lucas having a stare down contest. Ariel is very fond of these little games.Grandpa and I ran around the lakes in the neighborhhood while we pushed Elsie and Ariel rode her bike. We spent some time trying to feed the ducks but they were not interested.
The canal in downtown Indianapolis is colored green on St Patrick's Day and we decided to go and take a look. It was bright green.
We made green velvet cupcakes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Isaac reading and snuggling with grandpa. Grandpa quickly falls asleep.A couple of hours after we left the canal downtown, 5 people were shot there, two in bad shape.

Quick trip to Utah

End of January we flew into super-convenient Provo airport and were greeted by both sets of grandparents. We stayed a week and had a lot of fun playing with family and seeing if Utah is where we want to plant our roots.

Isaac and Grandma Marion after a long day of travelling for Isaac.

Ariel and Elsie loved spending time with their girl cousins. We even got to go to Emma's birthday party.
The weather was so unseasonably pleasant we spent some time outdoors on the trampoline and play set. I taught the kids a thing or two about the game add-on.

We ate a lot of good tasting bad for you food. Jay-dogs hot dogs were delicious!
I may be getting old but I will not be outdone by my younger siblings. Sibling fetes of strength were taught to us since we were in diapers.

Grandma Hawkes took some of the kids to a 3D showing of Puss in Boots. They had a great time. Grandma lost her wallet at the theatre and was distressed. Isaac requested they pray to find it. Always works like a charm.

Up early to catch our flight back home. Always too short of a trip
