Earth Science Lesson: Shimmering Crystals

Crystals/ Quartz are said to be great enhancers of positive energies into the personal space. They bring love, health, good luck, protection, mental clarity, confidence and serenity to their care-taker.

Each crystal serves a different purpose and it is said that you will know which to pick by the affinity you have with the individual crystal.

I am attracted and mesmerized by the beauty of the shimmering stones, so my quest will be to start a collection of palm size crystals based on the basic colors (still short of orange and yellow colors but there is no hurry).

Below are the chemical composition and the metaphysical properties of the individual crystal as shown on the above picture:

Pyrite Quartz - Iron Sulphide (Top Left)
Energy, vitality, will power, warming and stimulating and encourages us to be dynamic and creative, confidence, aids in grounding higher knowledge into action, create abundance

Celestite - strontium sulphate (Top Right)
Serenity, creativity, stimulate clairvoyant communication, attracting goodness and purity, brings calm

Amethyst Quartz- silicon dioxide (Middle Left)
Protection, purification, patience and peacefulness, happiness and contentment, lead to prosperity and abundance

Cactus Quartz - silicon dioxide (Middle Centre)
Protecting, healing, self-worth, universal love to forgive, patience and perseverance

Flourite - calcium flouride (Middle Right)
Focus, clarity, improved decision-making, good luck, wealth

Rose Quartz - - silicon dioxide (Front Left)
Unconditional love, gentleness, forgiveness, soothing and happy

Clear Quartz - silicon dioxide (Front Right)
Clarity, concentration, studying and retaining what one learns

One of the most common uses of crystals/quartz for most people is to display on their desktop to absorb radiation from their computer.

It is important to note that not all crystal can be cleanse with water. Celestite are water soluble. I did some readings on the chemical and metaphysical properties of celestite before I brought the crystal. It is really lucky for me as I have the habit of cleaning my crystals with tap water whenever I unwrap my new purchase at home.

It was shocking when the shop attendant said that celestite could be washed and she went ahead to rinse 4 of her crystals. As I have obtained the facts from various websites, I am convinced that the information from the internet is correct.

I regretted telling her that the celestite on the shelves does not shine, which prompted her to rinse the crystals through the running tap water in effort to wash of the surface dust to regain the shine of the crystals.

There isn't any noticeable difference on the shine, but there seems to be a slight drop in the blueish color on the crystal clusters. The shop attendant focus was on getting me to buy her items that she confidently emanate that these crystals can be clease with water. I am still wondering if she is right on this.

I felt obligated to at least get a piece of something from her, hence, I went back to the shelves to have another look at the rest of the crystals. There isn't something of the display that makes me want to make any impulse purchase. Luckily, I found another piece of celestite at the back of the store. This crystal cluster is in lovely blue and the appearance is much more shiny. The attendance says that this piece of celestite was from the earlier batch, which is already very rare as the newer batch looks more cloudy. I have finally found something that I should buy.

Initially, I was rather hesitant about getting a piece of celestite despite the reading materials has raved many positive reviews. I already have lots of blue color in my charka, and I have been told that I needed more pink color. However, I am naturally attracted to blue color items that keeps me continue reading. Finally, I don't have to think about whether to buy it anymore and I am actually quite pleased with my purchase.

Generally, the price of the crystals will depends on the rarity, followed by the size, the aesthetics, and the level of sparkle and shine. The choice of the crystals will really depends on the needs of the individuals.

每天都有哎呀糟糕的状况

There can be nothing more fascinating than my daily work life. After talking to my colleagues did I realized that there are so many UPs and DOWNs which is not normal at all. I wonder if I have been exaggerating, yet judging by the seriousness of the impact, these are indeed situations that will keep the brows raising.

Bangkok Trip 17-20 Feb

A personal short trip has been arranged within a short time frame. I would attribute the success to our accommodating nature and the willingness to comprise and work towards a common goal. Our group is quick to agree to a budget of $500 for the flight and hotel, and another $500 for food and expenses.

Since the 6 of us came from different departments, taking 2 days off from work would not affect the company operation. The synergies is there and the whole trip was enjoyable.

Unexpectedly, all of us preferred to stick together and move on the same itinerary. I thought we would have split into sight seeing and shopping in small group, but instead, all of us move as a team. It is a day of shopping in MBK and platinum fashion mall, a day of shopping in chatuchak, terminal 21 and RCA, and the last day at platinum central and Chinatown for dinner.

We traveled by taxi most of the time and the pace was slow and easy without anyone being too demanding. After going through so many activities together, the bonding is already there. This trip is fun because of the travel companions.

Much different from my impression of Bangkok, a few of the shopping mall is actually more advanced than Singapore. The foodcourt is using tap card system, the entrance of the malls have sensors and security guards to ensure safety, there are theme toilets in the T21 with smart toilet bowls like Japan, and the chatuchak big market is offering free wifi and iphone apps to help tourist with the location map and shopping. As the land area is big, the shopping mall is more spacious with high ceiling and the club is less pack without compromising the fun. The food is delicious with affordable pricing. We spent $8 for the SIM Card with 10MB + 150bhat value of phone call (1bhat/min), $40 for 2 lunch, 2 dinners and 2 suppers, $10 for clubbing, $25 on 2hrs massage and $30 on the total cab fare through the 4 days. As the pace is slow, it may take some time in the queue for the airport service.

新年鱼生

我想年菜最让人期待的就是捞鱼生咯.. 捞个风生水起,步步高升,大吉大利,生意健康,新年进步,事事顺利,生意兴荣,财源广进,閤家安康,年年有余!!

My first yusheng toss came the 7th day of CNY in Aunty Alison's house. There is another round on the 12th in the Soup Restaurant with the finance department, on the 13th day in Aunty Wendy's house and a final one on the 19th day for our RC appreciation lunch in the Min Jiang restaurant. We have reserved the 年菜 for our lunch in advance. While the other tables could have started eating their valentine's day lunch, we are still on the new year mood.

Understand that it is important to include fish on the first serving, I have make it a point to look for the fish slice which I hadn't previously. Hopefully things will get better this year.

Hectic

Throbbing headache over the number of tasks I have to do within a day - current task, adhoc task, urgent matters, projects and daily duties. I wished to be able to rush out of office in time as not many people are going to work late on the weekend before the CNY holiday break.
