At the end of everyday in DC, Katie fell asleep in the stroller. Well I wanted her
to know someday that she did go to the White House when she was younger.

In March...Alicia, Katie & Ethan went on a fun trip to Washington DC & New York City. It was great because Alicia's Mom & Sister were able to fly through Salt Lake City and be on the same plane to DC. It was great help! While in DC we stayed at the Padilla's. Katie had a blast with her Aunts & Uncles and Grandmas & Grandpa. It was very confusing for Katie at first. She didn't understand that both Grandma Padilla & Grandma Bigelow were going to be there. Once we settled in, things made sense. We went to all of the monuments DC and some museums. When we were at the "pencil" monument we saw President Obama drive by. That was quite an experience. First came a circling helicopter, then road closings (even to pedestrians), then police motorcycles, then police cars, then all of the President's entourage, limos, suburbans, military with huge guns visible, even an ambulance. It was crazy! We also went to Mount Vernon and Arlington Cemetery. In Baltimore, we went to the Inner Harbor. Katie had fun looking at the pirate ship and submarine. While in New York City we went to the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Empire State Building, Central Park and Times Square (that's where our hotel was) While Alicia went to New York with her Mom, sister and Ethan, Katie stayed with Grandma & Grandpa Padilla. They all went to the zoo and had fun. Katie still talks about the zoo and the cookies they made that morning.

While Alicia, Katie & Ethan were back east, Mike stayed home to work for his business, Redavus Home Improvement. They are now working in the Salt Lake City area as well as the Provo area. The business is doing very well. I keep telling Mike...one day when we have our own home, you'll be able to fix it up just the way I want it :)

Katie has been in Sunbeams for a few months but I came across this
picture taken after church on her first day of class and had to post it.
She still loves Sunbeams and is very excited to go every Sunday!
