Growing up!

The kids are growing up! Katie is our little Sunbeam! We talked to her for about a week describing how Sunbeams would be different than nursery. When we told her she was going to a new class she asked, by name, if her nursery teacher was switching classes too. It was cute. She enjoyed it and came home singing primary songs! Each child was given a CD with the songs they will be learning this year. It's suppose to help the kids learn easier if they hear the songs at home as well as church. I'm excited to learn the songs with Katie! I (Alicia) only know a few primary songs because I never went to primary or church. I was baptized when I was 13.

Ethan is doing more and more each day! Today, he rolled over for the first time and I missed it! Mike saw the end of him rolling over but I didn't see any of it. It's so sad. As a mother, to see your children do their "firsts" is something to cherish! I'm hoping I will get to see the second roll over. Ethan "talks" all of the time now too! Katie was trying to tell Ethan to be quiet today so she could watch something on TV. He was talking too loud and she couldn't hear the TV well. It was funny.

A Very Scary Moment

Today we were eating our lunch in the kitchen as usual when we had a little situation. We always bring Ethan in to sit by the table with us either in his bouncer or his swing. So we're eating and he's sitting in his bouncer looking around when Mike looks over at him and asked "Alicia, is he breathing?" (Mike said he had a weird look on his face) To which I replied "NO!" I grabbed him and flipped him over onto my legs and hit his back but it didn't do anything so I have him to Mike. Mike stuck his finger in Ethan's mouth to see if there was anything in there. There wasn't anything but it did get Ethan to gag. And all was well! I'm not sure why that happened, Mike thinks Ethan gagged on some spit or something but it was definitely a very scary situation! Ethan is asleep now and I continually keep checking to make sure I see his chest rise and fall...rise and fall.

Christmas Day!

Katie was so excited to get snow boots. She always wants to play in the
snow and now she can. They've come in handy recently with all the snow we've had.

3/2010 "Whoa! The grass is yellow!" The snow melted away and Katie was surprised the grass was yellow.

2/2010 We did FHE on 'Order,' everybody has a job in the family. This is what followed while we were eating our treat. Katie said "Everybody is sitting in the wrong seats! You're suppose to be there....you're suppose to be there, etc....THAT'S NOT ORDER!" (Ethan was in Daddy's chair, Daddy was in Katie's, Katie was in Mommy's and Mommy was in Ethan's)

2/2010 Alicia to Katie "You have Daddy shaped feet and Ethan has Mommy shaped feet!" Katie"No! Your feet are still there and mine are still there and Daddy's are still there. We all have our own feet!"

12/2009 "I'm going to DC today!" With back pack on, packed and ready to go. "My Grandparents live there!"

12/2009 It was about 10pm, Katie had been in bed for a couple of hours. We start to hear singing. She was sitting on her bed with her feet dangling off, singing. Alicia"Who are you singing to?" Katie"Everybody asleep." A"Have you slept yet?" K"No." A"What have you been doing?" K"Singing."

12/2009 "Mommy, I'm watching TV on my phone." Her "phone" was an Uno game card.

12/2009 "I'm uploading a picture to facebook"

12/2009 "The truck lost its thing! That's not good." The last time we saw this particular truck it had a trailer attached.

11/2009 Katie likes to practice her SOBs instead of her ABCs

10/31/09 "Is Halloween for dinosaurs too, not just us?"

9/24/09 "I want to eat kitty cat beans." One day I mentioned kidney beans and Katie heard that as kitty beans and well if they are kitty beans, they must be called kitty cat beans.

9/22/09 Katie said "I can't eat anymore, I'll get a headache in my tummy"

9/17/09 Katie said "I have a broken ankle collarbone!" Whenever something hurts she calls it a collarbone because of when she broke her collarbone. Its funny.

9/12/09 Katie likes to take her crib mattress and place it on the ground to play on (which she's not suppose to do). So I said, "Don't walk on your crib mattress" to which she replied, "No this is a fashion show!" ...No more Project Runway for this girl :)

8/26/09 "My flower is tired," said very sadly. She had been holding a flower for a while during a walk and it started wilting so she thought it was tired as it was bending over.

"Those are lights, don't put those with the darks!" I was told!

8/5/09 "Do you want to go to church with us?" There must have been something taught in Primary about Missionary work because Katie found some nice people at the grocery store to ask if they wanted to join us.

7/30/09 "Those gushums peed in my mouth!" Katie's first encounter with gushers.

7/25/09 "Look! My stomach is moving all by itself." I asked her Why? and she said "It's because I ate lots of chips!" I think she was actually watching herself breathe.

7/2009 I said "I don't think you should eat that, it might make your tummy upset." She said "no it won't, it will make it happy."

When she does something wrong, she says "No, Harry Potter did it!"

"It's slippy" instead of it's slippery.

"We played in the sprinkles!" instead of sprinklers.

"My foot is tingly, feel it!" Her foot fell asleep while she was sitting on it and insisted that I could feel the tingles too!
