I'm 33... or am I?

This whole past year, I have had the hardest time remembering how old I am. At one point, with a group of friends, I was adamant about the fact that I was the youngest one in the group, only to realize 5 minutes later that I was actually the second oldest!! The funny thing is, I remember back in the day giving my mom a hard time about not remembering how old she was. I sympathize with you now, Mom!

With that being said, I REALLY DID turn 33 last week! We celebrated at Cheddar's with the fam. Kamryn sat in a high chair for the first time.

Gaven gave us a little bit of Stevie Wonder, rocking out to the background music (see video at the end). This will be the last time I have to apologize for my camera not focusing right... more about that in a later post.

All of the kiddos and Dad.

... and Mom.

The yummy goodness that the boys and I shared for dessert!

"Helping" Daddy pay the bill.

One last blurry picture on the way out.

I had a great birthday... now, just one more year until I'm 35... or is it 34??

Catch-Up

Once again, I find myself doing a "catch-up" post. Mostly, after uploading all my pictures, I realize that I take WAY more pictures of Kamryn then I do of the boys. Probably because she's so stinkin' cute and smiley!!

Here's a little Halloween preview... the boys have been playing a lot of dress-up lately.

I had to get a picture of this new way that Gaven walks around the house. He's not holding onto anything, he just walks like this. If you ask me, it looks painful, but it doesn't seem to bother him one bit!

I got this next idea off of Pinterest... the boys love doing the puzzles. They are also a good quiet church activity for Gaven!

Here's Smiley herself:

The other day her eyes were looking VERY blue... and her hair a tad bit red!

When it came time to try some carrots, she took to the new food much better then when we first tried rice cereal.

When the weather drops below 100 degrees here in TX, this is how you find my boys at 6:50am, getting ready to head out to the bus.

A little bit of Crooked Smiley

I put this next picture because it reminded me of one that I have always loved of Carsen from about the same age. Carsen has always had a crooked smile like the picture of Kamryn above, and when he was her age, he had a really square face, with a little chin that poked out the bottom. I guess if you had to say that Kamryn looked like one of her brothers, you could argue that it was Carsen... even though their eyes and their coloring are completely different.

She's still not QUITE crawling, but she makes her way around well enough to get into mischief already.

After I took this next picture, I tried to go around the back of her to get one of the back of her head as she was playing, but she wasn't having any of that.

She just kept leaning and turning no matter where I went.

The boys' school had their PTA/Family Night where the 3rd grade performed a few songs for us.

Kamryn's hair is getting pretty long. I took a couple pictures the other day without the flash to try and capture her white roots with dark tips.

We FINALLY had some rain! Kamryn is 6.5 months old and I'm pretty sure this is the first time she's seen rain!

We took the pool down and turned the "pool circle" into a sand box once again. The boys have been living in it every chance they get.

Of course, they still take breaks to play soccer, baseball and football out back... and occasionally shove their little brother into the fence:
(according to Carsen, it was just a little bump)

I'm loving me some choppers!!!

5 days later, his bump is looking better, and the bruising has moved to his eye.

So there's our picture catch-up once again!!

"It's Just You and Me, Girlfriend."

We wouldn't even have known, had we not checked her mouth, but Kamryn cut her first tooth a few days ago. It's pretty hard to see in this picture, but trust me, it's there! It didn't phase her in the least bit. It sure looks like #2 will be following any day now.

She's also enjoying her rice cereal a lot more now then when she first tried it!
Just in time to try some vegetables this weekend. What fun!

I don't think there is a night that I go to bed WITHOUT checking on the kids. Call it a habit, call it fun or just call it paranoia?? This is not the first time I have found one of them like this, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Sound asleep!

Gotta love the fro!

A couple days later, I checked on her in the morning because she had slept in so late... of course I had to grab the camera again because she was so cute.

I had been planning on doing a preschool co-op with some of my friends where we alternated Tuesdays holding preschool at our house for our 8 little kiddos. It sounded like a great idea and at first I was all in, but after thinking about it, even though it was STILL a great idea, Gaven was quite a bit older than the rest of the kids. So I opted out and decided to do something here at home one day a week with him so he could still have "his" preschool that he was excited about and to have some 1 on 1 time with him. I had no intentions of putting him in a preschool. However, when in conversation with my grandma, she asked me if I was doing something for preschool for Gaven... when I told her that we weren't (it just wasn't in the budget), she graciously offered to cover the cost if it was something I wanted to do. Of course I was excited about the concept, not only for Gaven, but for me, too. To make a long story short, he had his first day today.

I don't think I was the only one excited!!

Jason's car died on us yesterday. That'll teach him to bring his cell phone, even if he IS just going to the gas station that's a mile away. It's currently in the shop, getting a new starter (and hopefully that will be it), so this morning, we took him to work just before taking Gaven to school. The ENTIRE ride there, Gaven was off his rocker! We just laughed as we drove along, listening to his built up excitement.

I couldn't for the life of me get him to smile!

When we got back out to the car, I looked at Kamryn and said, "It's just you and me, girlfriend!"

We made a stop at Target...

Then we headed home... that was about all she could take!

When I picked up Gaven, he was all smiles. He loved his first day. I'm glad he had fun because I did, too!
