Sunshine in San Diego

I just got home from a MUCH NEEDED weekend getaway to California. I went out to see Holly and to go to the Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan concert for her belated birthday. I couldn't wait to get out there for a few reasons: 1. I love Holly and have missed her so so much 2. I love Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan (and they aren't coming to Utah this year) 3. I have been stressed with work and some stuff and really needed to get away and 4. I miss the sunshine and the ocean. I think those all made for good enough reasons to go visit. It turned out to be such a fun weekend (except for the part when I got stuck in the airport for a million hours) and it was so nice to see my Holly and catch up. I am even considering moving out there. No really. Here are a few pics from the trip.

Soakin' up the sun @ the pool
Aww...I love this girl
At the concert- waiting for Luke Bryan
Just us goofing off. ha
Jason Aldean + Palm Tree = Perfect
Chillin' on the Beach Sunday afternoon
So much fun
We watched the sun set
After 5 hours waiting for a delayed flight, I finally got on the plane

My New Love...

I Love Vampire Diaries. Seriously. It's a way way way better version of Twilight with way way way more beautiful people in it and awesome music. What more could a girl ask for?? Nothing. Well... I'd actually love to have 2 sexy vampire brothers in love with me in real life and to live in Mystic Falls with sexy vampires and warewolves and witches, and to make out with Damon. But other than that, not much.

Look at these beauties:

My family started watching Vampire Diaries over the summer, and I would watch an episode here and there with them, but I never watched long enough to get into it. But Sunday they turned on Season 3 while I was home, and within a few episodes, I was hooked. Now, 3 days later, I am almost finished watching Season 3. Holy moly it's good. Its made me realize how boring my life is though. haha. I'm working on that. Gotta find myself a vampire boyfriend. ha.

A few of my {new} favorite things

As Julie Andrews said, "These are a few of my favorite things" Well, in the time that I haven't been updating my blog, I have made a few discoveries, seriously these are some of my new favorite things. One day I'll look back at this when I'm old and laugh and these old, outdated things. But for now, they are new and AWESOME!

SPOTIFY: All the music in the world at the touch of my fingertips, along with already-created awesome playlists --on my computer AND phone!? Yes please!!

SONICARE TOOTHBRUSH: All I can say is that I can't believe I have been brushing with a regular toothbrush all these years. Nothing compares. My mouth is so much happier now. I could NEVER go back. Oh and getting it for free wasn't too bad of a deal either!

MASKCARA BLOG: {www.maskcara.com} I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog! It's got so many awesome hair and makeup tutorials. And even better, she's from St. George, so I feel like I relate with her better...somehow. Only bad thing: I have spent so much $$ at Sephora buying new makeup since I discovered this blog.

PINTEREST: {or as Grandma Fran calls it, "PINSTERS"} Its so awesome, that even my Grandma uses it. I find so many cute and clever ideas, recipes, and quotes. I just have to be careful not to spend too many hours on there.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS: Okay, so these aren't exactly new... I've had them before. But I forgot how wonderful they are. I wake up in the morning with my makeup almost done! Get out of the pool or shower and I still have awesome lashes. They are an investment, and somewhat torturous on your real eyelashes, but I think they are worth it!

GELATO: For as much as I love ice cream, its surprising that I had never tried this heavenly creation {gelato} until just recently. Not only does it taste AMAZING, but its a somewhat healthier alternative to my favorite thing ever {ice cream}. Healthy ice cream? I know, it really is too good to be true. But it's a little less horrible for you....I did a little research and here's the facts:
Ice Cream = 10% fat, Gelato= 5% fat
Ice Cream= 50% air, Gelato= 25% air {makes you feel more full so you eat less}

iPHONE: I know, I know.... I finally gave into peer pressure on this one. In all the years that iphone has been the big hype, I have never had any interest in it. I was perfectly happy with my very customizable Android. That is, until I went to Hawaii and my 12 megapixel camera was out-performed by the camera on the iPhone 4s. So after years of saying no, I finally did it...I joined the exclusive iPhone club. And I will admit it..I really love my iPhone. There are a lot of things I love about it, but the biggest thing is the camera. It ROCKS! I have even benched my camera because I don't really need it anymore.

So there they are. Until next time...

Country Music

photo

I love love love love this quote. Seriously, it could not be more true. I love everything about it. Some may disagree, but I think that high standards, real men treating you like a lady, and country music all go together. There’s nothing like a good country song, oh, except a man that treats you like a lady. My summer’s usually consist of country concerts, rodeos, demolition derbys and hanging out in Sanpete County, oh and of course rockin’ out to country music. If you want some proof of these songs that taught me how a man should treat a lady, I’ll make it easy on you—it’s time to become a country music believer. Here are some of my summer favs:

Wanted by Hunter Hayes
Hey Pretty Girl by Kip Moore
She’s Like Texas by Josh Abbott Band
A Woman Like You by Lee Brice
Crazy Girl by Eli Young Band
Dancin’ Away with My Heart by Lady Antebellum
Over by Blake Shelton
And of course, it just wouldn’t be right to not mention these classics:

Don’t Take the Girl by Tim McGraw
This I Gotta See by Jason Aldean {that one’s for you Holls}
Everything by Brad Paisley
