Hinton, Party of 2

I am a bad blogger. That's a fact. I guess it's a good thing I don't get paid to do it. Then again, if I did I would probably be better at it. Ha.

Anyhoo, I have some VERY VERY EXCITING NEWS! So, that guy Ryan that I introduced in my last blog post. Well, our little story is continuing on and WE ARE GETTING MARRIED! In 15 days to be exact (September 26). It's so exciting and crazy and cool and happy and busy, all at the same time. There will be sparkles and bows and pink and lots of fun. I really can't believe I am getting married in two weeks. I really never thought this day would come. But lucky for me, I met the most amazing guy. He is just exactly what I need, and I am so very excited to be his wife and to start our little life together.

So, I decided to start a new blog for this new chapter in life. So I'll be moving over to www.hintonpartyof2.blogspot.com. I'll post about the wedding and honeymoon and all kinds of fun things.

Meet Ryan

I wasn't kidding when I said "Good things are happening" in my last post in January. So here's my attempt at explaining whats been going on in my little world.

"this guy" is Ryan. I met him last summer through some mutual friends. I thought he was cute and used my best "turn ons", but with no avail. But lucky for me, we were re-aquainted when he bought a house in Riverton and moved into my singles ward in November. So I got a second chance to convince him to ask me out. It took a little coaxing, but he finally did. We went on our first date in December and we've been dating ever since. He is such an amazing guy, I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest girl. He's pretty much everything that I could ask for..and more. Despite his obsession with Star Wars and other nerdy things, I think he's pretty cool. We're having tons of fun together--traveling a bit and enjoying the beautiful summer in Utah. Hopefully our little story continues to get better and better.

Good Things

January is not my favorite month, for a lot of reasons that I won't bore you with explaining. But as much as I hate January, I have to say this one has been a pretty good one so far. Good things are happening. Once again, I am made aware that the Lord knows exactly what I need and he has a plan for me. I totally love this T-Swift song and think it's appropriate for this little post today. If you haven't heard it, take a listen!

Call me strange...

Everyone has little quirky things that they do that others may think are strange, and apparently I have quite a few of them. My friends and family like to point them out, but I'm cool with it. They might be strange to you, but totally normal to me. So, I've compiled a little list of my little weird quirks for your reading entertainment. Call me weird or strange or whatever, but they are some of the dumb things that make me--me.

  • I love infomercials. I will seriously buy ANYTHING from an infomercial. I really shouldn't watch for them...its bad for my bank account.
  • I walk super super fast--naturally
  • I brush my teeth in warm water
  • I love baby food (only the fruit ones)
  • I have to check in my closet every night before I go to bed before I can get to sleep (I guess I'm checking for boogie monsters or murderers or something that could kill me in my sleep)
  • I've been bitten by a mouse (the story is posted here: http://mandafarbie.blogspot.com/2008/05/bit-by-mouse.html)
  • I have a weird "pen of the day" fetish
  • I can't stand it when my nails grow out--there can be NO white showing
  • I am scared of aliens. Seriously. Hate everything about them
  • I love doing laundry
  • I have to turn the water on in the bathroom when I pee so no one can hear me
  • I shower in scolding HOT water (it would seriously burn most people)
  • In high school, I planned what I was going to wear on Sundays for each week and wrote it on my calendar (Yes I have proof)
  • I check under my covers for spiders every night before I go to bed
  • I am afraid of ghosts (and ghost shows)
  • I steer my car with my knee 85% of the time
  • I really really really wish I could do the black-girl booty shake
  • I hate the smell of metal---like when jewelry starts to smell metaly---sick. I will throw it away
  • I have nightmares that my teeth fall out
  • Weird textures of food freak me out

So there ya go, hope you got a good laugh

2013... Bring it on

Well its 2013. Another year has come and gone. Although I wouldn't chalk 2012 up as being my best year, I do feel good about it. I didn't accomplish a ton of huge milestones, but I was able to develop some meaningful friendships, strengthen my testimony, heal my heart, visit some of my favorite places and overall I feel like I've become a better person. I've never really been a fan of new years resolutions... mostly because most people write them down on New Years Day and then completely forget about them within a few weeks. (Yes I've been guilty of it) However, I do think that regularly setting goals and reflecting on your progress frequently is important and is the best way to constantly push yourself to be better. so with that said, here's a few things that I am going to become better at in the year 2013...

  • Live in the moment and enjoy life more fully
  • Be an early riser
  • Learn to eat healthy
  • Travel more
  • Read more (Book of Mormon's at the top of the list)

There are more things I would like to accomplish this year, but I thought I'd keep it simple and start out small. I'll keep track of my progress here. Goodnight.
