Thank you....

Courtesy of  catatan journal aurora Thank you

Assalamualaikum to all...

My first entry for March 2014. Such a long break. Reason? Well, no particular reason actually, just been busy and lazy at the same time. Plus with the water cut in Selangor at the moment, makes me even lazier to try things in the kitchen. Not to say that if there is water at home, I will be otherwise! Hahaha...

Anyway, for this entry, I won't be putting up any recipes though I have quite a few waiting in line to be posted. This entry is mainly to thank Miss Norashikin Md Nor from Jelita Magazine, March 2014 edition for featuring my humble blog in their ENAK TAK TERKATA section.

I was surprised to know MamaFaMi's Spice n Splendour appeared in the magazine when first informed by Ummi Kuantan via Whatsapp. Then when I checked the comments in my Mushroom and Sausage Omelette entry, I came upon a comment by Marsita Yahya stating the same matter. Thank you to both of you for letting me know. And my thanks goes to Fadzlina Kamis for buying me the magazine. Appreciate all of you very much.

My blog was featured together with Marsita's blog MINT Homemade and also Muhammad Syafiq's blog Syapex and I felt tiny when lined together with them. Check their blogs and you will know what I mean!

Miss Norashikin wrote..."paparan gambar besar dah jelas, cukup untuk menjamu mata pembaca blog masak ini". To be honest, I was actually "menjamu" my own eyes with those large sized photos. I just like to see the photos that I took and posted. Even though they are not as lovely as other peoples' photo, but I am proud of what I managed to do.. hahaha...There goes my confession! sangat poyo kan saya ini!!!

And here too, I would like to appologise to other editors from magazines and papers, if I have not replied to your emails asking if I would like to be featured in your magazines and papers. To be frank, I felt really honoured to get those invitations. The feeling is just great!! But there are some requirements from your part that I could not fulfil and I am very bad at turning down good opportunities like these. What's more, I don't really know how to put it in words..hence the silence. I really hope you guys will understand... My sincere apologies......

Bring Back Ferris To Malaysia

Amin.

Untuk sinopsisnya, bolehlah dibaca di sini.

Just for laughs!

Got these in my email, sent by MamaZieza. Thank you MamaZieza for making me laugh and releasing a bit of my tense watching the Piala Thomas game yesterday night. Though we lost, but we have to give our players a hand of applause for a game well played. All the best in your future games.

Has anyone tried answering his/her exam this way?

Semoga segala usaha murni Ben, mendapat keberkatan dariNya.

Berikan sekali linknya ..
Semuanya ma kira istimewa buat diri ma sendirilah.

Terima kasih Ben......

Dapur mama telah digeledah Ben... Inilah entrynya : http://www.benashaari.com/2010/04/geledah-dapur-mamafami.html. Terima kasih Ben!

This song is very nostalgic to me... it has a great sentimental value. It's Sekolah Menengah Teknik Bukit Piatu Melaka's song which I will sing with pride during our assemblies. I love my school.

Recently, hubby was contacted by one of his ex-Teknik's friends. Oh by the way, hubby and me went to the same school. Sekolah Menengah Teknik Bukit Piatu, Melaka. Hold it...hold it.... don't start getting ideas okay. We didn't meet each other at school as he's my super senior. So nothing took place in Teknik okay... hahahaha....

His friend told him, ALTIMA (Alumni Teknik Melaka) was going to have their 19th annual general meeting last Saturday. At first, hubby had things to do on that day and couldn't make it to the meeting. Though I was quite disappointed, but there's nothing I can do. But then, on Friday evening, he told me that we are going to the meeting. Gosh... it's like a song to my ears to hear the news! So I quickly finished up the orders that I had and by 11am last Saturday (06.03.2010), we were on our way to Malacca, with hope, I'll be meeting at least some of the ex-students from my batch.

....among those who came for the meeting....

We were the first one to arrive. The meeting was held at the school new hall... well, it's new to me because during our time, we had no hall or whatsoever. That spot was part of our school field. According to the Altima committe, the turnout for this year was quite an impressive one. They had expected about 30 to turn up but there were more! And guess what, majority of them are from hubby's batch. What a swell time they had! And as for me, I was all alone, at least from the ladies side. I don't really know about guys my batch, except for my classmates (not all of them, to be honest! Hahaha.. teruknya!) and a few close friends. Nevertheless, the meeting went well and it was a great pleasure to be able to meet up with our Chemistry teacher, Mr Richard, now Tuan Haji Ridzuan Teoh.

After the Altima meeting, hubby's batch had organised a 'makan-makan' at Telok Mas. My goodness, how they chat!!! I just sat next to hubby and listened to all the stories everyone had to tell! At the same time, non-stop smiling and laughing! Goodness me, so these are my seniors! Hahaha....

We left Malacca for home at around 9.20 pm.... with loads of lovely memories to cheerish.......

Cerita 3 Bab

PART 1

In case you don't know, I was on a 'no-rice diet' for a month, for the whole of May to be precise. Alhamdulillah I managed to fulfill my mission. It wasn't easy I tell you, especially during the first week. Imagine, you are the one preparing the meals and rice. Then you have to sit at the same table but only to watch others enjoying their rice! You have to make do with bread or cereals or quaker oats! Being an Asian, that does not help at all! But since MamaFaMi loves challenges and she had boldly accepted HER OWN challenge, so by hook or by crook, she has to go for it... hahaha...bolehlah eksen cakap cam ni sebab dah berjaya kannnn... ahakss...

Okay mama, enough blabbering... we want to know the result!
The result? Well, sorry to disappoint all of you... but MamaFaMi still can't wear Kebaya and she's not even close to that size! She's still a size 50! Hahaha... but that never puts me off. Maybe a 'no-rice-diet' on it's own is just not the right way for me to loose weight. It has to go with excercise as well and yes, I didn't do it. Challenge myself again? Hmmm... not in this near future.... hahaha.....

Okay Lee Lin , I hope this answers your question ya... don't worry, mama tak ngelat tau, janji tetap janji... hihihi....

PART 2

Let's forget about food, just for this entry okay. I'd like to post the award given to me via my comment column by Datin El quite sometime back. Thank you dear.

PART 3

Last May, we sent 4 pieces of trousers material to a tailor somewhere in USJ. Hubby had kindly paid more than half the amount. He said he purposely paid more with hope that this guy will sew the trousers at good time. After the promised date of 3 weeks, we went to collect the trousers but the tailor said they're not ready just yet and had asked for another week. So yes, we gave him another week. Still not ready. Everytime we went there, he'd say the button holes are not ready. After another 2 trips there, he finally told us that he had sent the materials to another tailor to sew them and they still haven't come back! Why must he lie? Why can't he just tell us the truth instead of us having to travel all the way there and not only once, twice or trice... I think it had been more than 5 times! I lost count!! We wasted our time and fuel going that side for nothing! My patience has it's limit. After the third visit, when I followed hubby to the shop, I will stop a few shops away from his shop as I am afraid my blood will go upstairs!!! And gosh, I thought I have loads of patience!!!!

But what surprises me is hubby's patience towards this guy! After all these trips and all the tailor's lies, hubby can still take it where else I am boiling inside! Now let me ask you guys a question, if you were in our position, what will you do?

Thank you....
...perghhhhh lega giler dah ni... dah luah perasaan geram yang terbuku!

My Failure Day! Gosh I hate it!

Today, I celebrate, my FAILURE DAY. Gosh, what went wrong, I wonder! To say that I didn't shower, I did! Mmm takkan nak kena mandi air bunga kot.....

It all started in the morning... yeah, AGAIN I didn't manage to start my morning walk. I woke up in a good time and managed to prepare mom's breakfast, clothes in the washing machine and opened the windows before sending Syahmi to school, also in good time. When I reached home, Kak Ana's door is still not opened. Oh oh.... bad sign! Called her handphone and true enough, she's fasting and doesn't feel like walking. There goes my third attempt!

In the morning I just ironed as many clothes as I could. For lunch, mak and Syahmi just had the leftovers from yesterday's. Alhamdulillah both of them are not fussy at all. Infact it was mak who told me to finish up whatever's in the fridge. While clearing whatever needed to be cleared, I saw the leftover rice and decided to make Apam Salju. Though I wasn't really in the mood to do anything, but I just forced myself. Prepared the mixture and leave it to ferment. Then I saw this one cake recipe and again, let aside the not-in-a-mood feeling and start preparing the cake. Both turned out a failure. But mind you, it's not the recipes to be blamed. It was just me I guess. Reason being, I've made this Apam Salju a couple of times before and they came out nice, but why this time? Maybe the word FORCE just doesn't go with MamaFaMi.

Moral of the story : If you're feeling lazy, then continue being lazy and don't try to act 'smart'! Hahahaha....

Just to show that MamaFaMi is just one ordinary lady who does go through failures, I 'proudly' post my 'master piece'! Hahaha.....

Warmest regards,

Selamat menyambut Bulan Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

Assalamualaikum semua.....

Do'a malaikat Jibril menjelang Ramadhan " "Ya Allah tolong abaikan puasa umat Muhammad, apabila sebelum memasuki bulan Ramadhan dia tidak melakukan hal-hal yang berikut:

* Tidak memohon maaf terlebih dahulu kepada kedua orang tuanya (jika masih ada);
* Tidak bermaafan terlebih dahulu antara suami isteri;
* Tidak bermaafan terlebih dahulu dengan orang-orang sekitarnya.

Maka Rasulullah pun mengatakan Amiin sebanyak 3 kali.

SELAMAT MENYAMBUT BULAN RAMADHAN AL-MUBARAK...

Mouse Trap Story

MOUSE TRAP STORY.

This is excellent...

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.

What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning : There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!

"The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.

"The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr.Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the ho use! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital , and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died.

So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY;
OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.
