Jon and Mallorie Escapades

Well Jon and I started feeling like we need to get away for awhile. Alone. Without a baby. Haha. Jon called his mom and Grandma came and stayed with Cache & we went away for the weekend. We stayed at a really nice little lodge in Jackson Hole Wyoming. We really like Jackson and it's not far from home so it's a great place to get away to.

A few pictures of our room:

The Grand Tetons....
There is a Elk refuge in Jackson that you can kinda drive through. We didn't really see any Elk up close (they were far away), but there were a ton of big horn sheep. Here is a baby...or could be it's just a really small female...I'm not really an expert on these kinds of things. I had to ask my dad what kind of animal this was...all I could think of was "ram".
Not these guys, but 3 other males were fighting over a female. They would kind of do this stare down thing and then butt heads. It was really cool.
I had the chance to practice my photography skills. Haha. (Insert Jon rolling his eyes) And I decided I really don't know how to take pictures when it's dark. But these two turned out sort of cool:
All in all we had a nice, fun, relaxing weekend. By the last day though we were really missing the little guy & we were so excited to get home to him!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

Well I debated for a long time as to whether or not I would put up a tree this year...with Cache getting into everything and all I knew there was a good possibility it would end up being a pain in the booty. We set it up anyways. Initially Cache paid NO attention to it whatsoever so I started thinking it wasn't going to be a problem. THEN he realized there was a glittery "ball" on the tree and now he can't leave the thing alone! Haha.

This is a picture I took this morning of a few Cache friendly ornaments I put on the bottom half of the tree so he could play with them, but he has been totally uninterested in those. Fortunately for him the tree has also worked out well for storing string cheese (can you see it?) as well as his tooth brush and other miscellaneous toys.

After I took that picture I realized Cache was eating something...I didn't really think anything of it until I realized it was that dried out old piece of string cheese! Sick! Hopefully he won't get sick!

Here is a little video I shot with my phone...

...and I took this video last night BEFORE the cheese was old and nasty...just FYI I wasn't trying to get his attention with a nasty piece of string cheese.

Getting ready for the snow!

Well we got some decent snow today and so we figured it was about time Cache had himself a nice winter coat & snow pants so he can go play in it.

Tastes good too.

Now we just need to find our sleds & maybe a tiny bit more snow.

Halloween & a few fall pictures!

Can I just say that I hate how Blogger uploads pictures? Ahh. Anyways I had to go take a few pictures of Cache out playing in the leaves! Is he the cutest or what?

We don't even try to fight the curly hair anymore...it just does what it does. It grows super fast and I fear that his little mohawks are a thing of the past... ;-(

On to Halloween...Cache was a cute little tiger! My mom got it for him and we loved it! I didn't have to worry about him freezing either which was really nice. I think Cache liked wearing it too...he never protested...

The little paws on the hands were kind of flappy so Cache enjoyed flapping his arms.
Trick or treating at his Great-Grandparents house....don't you like how the bum sticks out? haha.
The trunk-or-treat...

Our pumpkins. Jon had this good idea to stick foil on the inside of his pumpkin to make it REALLY bright but then he didn't do it to the rest of ours! ;-( Haha.

The first time we gave Cache his pumpkin he picked it up and threw it on the ground (like he does with everything) so we figured this was the only way to keep it safe!

Mischievious Little Boy

I have been so far behind lately...I am going to try and catch up in the next few days...

Just a few little updates. This kid is getting into EVERY THING! Here he is innocently eating his banana....
Here he is after he mashed his banana into the carpet!

Then today I am sweeping the kitchen floor...I had my little pile of crumbs and there goes Cache walking through it and kicking it all over the floor. Then I walk into the kitchen and see this...

He is saying "Nya nya. Nya nya" which means "no, no" as he is pulling things off the shelves... Do you like how he is standing on the box of Top Ramen and a box of Brownie mix? Safe.
And he is shutting the door after I find him....
He is only a year old! Do they really get this mischievous already?! I feel scared.

Chair re-do & Cache swings!

So...I have this yellow chair that a friend found for me at a yard sale and I am dying to make it over, BUT I can't decide on a fabric because I have all these stipulations the said fabric must meet. Well while I was fabric shopping I found this really fun fabric and I loved it but I didn't want it for the yellow chair so I went and found another old chair and recovered IT with the fun fabric--did you follow all that??? So here is old chair....

Does it make you as happy as it makes me? I can't take all the credit for it though. I had to have Jon help me take it apart and paint it. Jon actually enjoyed the process as well so I told him his next project is to build me a TV stand...we'll see about that one. BACK to yellow chair...I want the chair to have lots of functions FOR EXAMPLE: for my house, for photography stuff, and I don't want it to look "girly"...as much as i LOVE girly there are a lot of boys in my house and I want to be able to sit Cache in the chair and take pictures of him and it not look weird. Make sense? YEs? Okay so now I need your help...do you have any fabric ideas? I want it to look really nice and meet all those specifications...I guess it would help if i showed you yellow chair or THE BEAST as I refer to it now.
See what i mean? I know it has a lot of potential...I just can't find what I'm looking for yet. It is going to be a lot more work because it's going to require reupholstery, but I'm pretty sure it will be beautiful when I'm done with it.

Now to the cute baby--isn't he the cutest EVER? He loves to swing!

Adios.

Cachey boy

I don't know why, but Cache has this thing about sticking things in his mouth putting his head up and going "wuh-wuh-wuh".....

Anyways so many new Cache things! Now that he is a year old he is finally in the forward facing car seat! So exciting for him...and us. Now he can see where he is going and it's nice to be able to hand things back to him.
And he is now walking! He could have started walking a long time ago but he was too afraid to let go of our hands and he finally got brave and just went for it. He walks all over the place now...occasionally he defaults back to crawling still. Its kind of funny because he walks like Frankenstein-both hands up. Last night I was making dinner and i hear this little pitter patter and Cache is walking over to me with both hands in the air and one hand holding my cell phone...I don't know why, i just thought it was so cute.

We also now have teeth! Two to be exact...they caused a lot of mayhem around here-talk about crabby baby! I think this picture is pretty funny, he couldn't figure out what i was trying to do. Notice the milk all over his face...
This one he got away from me before i snapped the picture and it just makes me laugh so I added it. ;-)

Extreme Home Makeover

Just about a week ago we had all the Extreme Makeover Home Edition people here in town. It was actually a very cool thing! It really united the community and it was amazing to see what that they could put that house together in that little time! There was literally no house one morning and then that night we went by and a house was standing there! The family seems very deserving, a single mom with 9 kids who battled breast cancer. Last year their dryer caught fire and burned their house.Isn't the house beautiful! I'd live there! This second picture is of them setting up an assembly line to move in the furniture.

The night before the revealed the home to the family they had an auction to raise money for the family....
The reveal happened during the day while I was at work and we were not able to make it to that, but we went over later that night. They had a small little private performance from Kylie Minogue right in front of the house for the family as a surprise and so we got to go to that. It was pretty cool because they were taping it for the show. They had us all cheering over and over again doing multiple takes and all kinds of stuff. It was really fun! They also were shooting footage for commercials that will be airing in France. It was funny because they had Ty trying to say things in French and then they would cue us and we all had to cheer.

Anyways, it was a cool experience. Maybe we'll be on TV when the show airs! Haha. I doubt it actually, but lots of fun regardless!
