Just Cards

Hello I haven't done any posts recently or entered any challenges as I don't seem to have had much spare time.  We have had some work done on the house and are still continuing to do so which involves making lots of cups of tea and baking numerous cakes plus moving things around in the house for the building works.

I have had some personal cards to make as above, the top one is a birthday card for my friend Sue.  Sue makes cards with me and we meet once a week alternating our houses and make cards, watching craft programmes on tv and having tea and cakes which is very nice.

The wedding card is one my husband asked me to make for the professional at his golf club (he did ask me the night before the wedding so it was a very last minute thing).  However, I understand the card was well received.

My elder granddaughter has just gained a place at university in Istanbul and  we are so very proud of her and I am in the process of making a congratulations card for her and her friend who has also gained a university place, I will put these on my blog as soon as they are finished.  We are going to Turkey soon so I can deliver them in person.  While we are there my son and his girlfriend are getting married out there and it will be lovely that we can all be together for that occasion so I'm very much looking forward to it.

Week 71 Less is More

This is my design for Week 71 of the Less is More Challenge.  The stamps I have used are ones which I have had in my stash for a long time and I can't remember where they are from, I think they may have been some free samples from a magazine but I am not sure.  I used Adirondak Denim ink and I coloured part of the image with the ink from the stamp pad and a water brush.  This was my third effort, firstly I made a frame round the card with the flourish stamp and then decided it was not "Less is More" so I did just one corner, but chickened out from that thinking it was perhaps a step too far and finally did the other corner for balance.

Hooray I've managed to do it.  I'll go off and compose a card for the LIM challenge for this week and hopefully I'll be able to do that properly as well.

Trying Again

I know it has been a long time since my last post but I have treated myself to a new computer as the other one was suffering from old age syndrome (a bit like me).  I am now going to try to put a photograph of a card on my blog and If I manage to do that successfully I may be able to enter the LIM challenge again.  Fingers crossed.

Week 55

This week I had to do quite a lot of thinking before I made my card, mainly because there are so many dies and punches to work from.  However, I decided on a vase of flowers, the vase was a stamp from Anita's Cottage Garden stamps which I coloured in with pro markers and the flowers were made with a punch from a set of 3 punches from the Woodware Craft Collection which I bought when I first started crafting, this was the smallest of the 3 sizes.  The second punch I used which was the edging of the table was an X-Cut punch.

New Blog

I have created this new blog as my original blog was rather messy and I hadn't updated it for quite a while.  My mean reason for creating this was to enter the LIM challenge each week and I am now working on this week's challenge which I will be putting on as soon as I have finished it.
