went for a number of courses (TPM workshop and SOC induction) these few days.

managed to make a number of new friends from many different sectors of HSBC. other than that, i also got to learn more of what each other sectors/departments are doing. i suppose such courses are useful to newbies like me if i do want to make career changes. haha.

glad to make friends during these courses since i wont be meeting anyone in my course of work.

our annual dinner and dance at suntec.

nothing special. it is pretty boring, at least to me. though there are some activities that try to bring us together.

the best dressed for different group of people with different clothes of different themes, a lucky draw (which none of us got lucky enough to win the prizes) as well as some jigsaw puzzle which formed the word (which you should have guessed it right) HSBC.

the dishes are just about average. no particular dishes which i like. perhaps the first dish was the most memorable since all of us are starving and they have to drag the time to 8pm before they are willing to serve any dishes to us.

did managed to find quite a lot of other colleagues working together in the same bank but at different places - HSBC building, Sing post as well as the respective branches. the relationship managers (idiotic RMs whose instructions are never clear) as well as people from the finance side and call centres.

they all said that this is a networking session. it indeed is.

went to celebrate mei qun's birthday at suntec and we had crystal jade la mian xiao long bao. had the usual xiao long bao and la mian.

instead of the traditional cakes, we used moon"cake" to celebrate her birthday. which is special since her very special day falls within the mid-autumn festival. haha. but other than that we also got her cake from secret recipe. all of us are pretty full from the dinner we had and so she had to bring them home. she cant say "da bao" for fear of repeating her subjects (choy! choy! choy!)

anyway, it had been quite some time since i last met her. i guessed it was my birthday?! she is forever so busy. with her tuition and mr ee. lol

we headed to the suntec fountain after dinner. since most of the shops are closing. and it is only 9.30pm and we are all pretty reluctant to go home since we seldom meet up with each other except on birthdays.

happy 6-monthniversary!!! =)

took 2 hour time off from work and spend the quality time with eugene. went to watch ratatouille at plaza singapura, which is a very comical show and i like it.

a story about how remy (a rat) have the passion to cook and how linguini meet him and the both of them helped each other to achieve their goals. remy have the talent to cook but cant cook (would you like stuff to be cooked by a rat?) and linguini just wanted to have a secured job (but he doesn't have the talent to cook at all.)

it turned out that linguini was actually the son of gusteau (whose restaurant is taken over by skinner who despised linguini). however later on when skinner realised that linguini is gusteau's son, he tried to get rid of him in order to secure the restaurant for himself. with the help of remy, linguini managed to get the restaurant back.

however, due to certain event when remy left linguini, linguini told the rest his secret of which he is actually controlled by remy. they were shocked and at the same time, they all refused to assist him and left the restaurant. and on that very day, a food critic, ego came over and wanted to appraise their cooking. having insufficient help, remy who came back to linguini in the end, seeked help from his group of rats and they started cooking. sad to say on the very same day, an officer from the hygenie and found out about rats cooking and it causes the restaurant to close down.

a nice story whereby remy is torn between being a chef and a rat, between friendship and family, between a reality and dream.

enjoyed the movie very much. =) perhaps it is the company. :P

p/s: we got ourselves rings. haha. eugene wanted it very much. lol. well, i am waiting for a diamond ring though. :P

we decided to celebrate our 6-monthniversary today since the actual day actually falls on a weekday.

went serangoon garden country club in the morning to swim with eugene, darrell and huiping. despite it being a cloudy morning, i still got a tanned line. which is so absurd!!! i wanted a tan line previously when i went swimming with sharon and eugene and yet there is nothing, even though the sun was strong. there must be something wrong with the ozone layer. more uv light are entering. we must do something to save it!!!

went to serangoon garden to eat. ate some "fake" katong laksa which doesnt taste as good as the original. after that we went to another coffee shop to eat prata. the tissue prata is nice!!! crispy and sweet. i like. after that darrell sent us home.

in the evening, eugene came over my place and surprise me with this..

6 roses with the color of champagne (my favourite rose color), each standing for a month according to him. i love it. =) and i didnt expect him to get this for me. i guess that is part of the reason why he insisted on sending me home after swimming.

went to my secret garden (a surprise for me as i have no clue we are going there until i reached the place) at bugis there and i wore a new dress i bought at joop. but the tanned line from the morning swimming is so visible and it makes me look so ugly. =(

i am glad to have him by my side through my ups and downs. always happy with him around. i am very blessed to have him with me.

met eugene, huilin (da jie), ah boon, xiaojia, jon, emily, zichao, dominic, sharon and cliff at suntec. at first thought i wont be able to make it. but i am glad i am able to knock off slightly earlier than usual.

headed to siam kitchen. didnt really eat much as i had a late lunch. it wasnt nice according to the rest of them. so i guess no more thai food in future. haha. realised that most of the time we met we ate thai food. lol.

had a great time with the rest of them. got the latest updates as to where they are working etc. miss school life. haiz.
