it's jasper's birthday. my this xiao di is only 19 this year. so freaking young. :X got to know him 2 years ago at the airport. just amazed that we are still keeping in contact. most of us who worked together then had already long lost touch with each other. and we only worked together at the airport for only 2 days? haha. glad we still remained friend.

*note: this post is freaking long and it is about my birthday celebration with eugene. dont read it if you find it boring. lol.*

went to sentosa again. but this time round with eugene. we ate at the same chicken rice stall cos it is nice and i love it. and i would quite strongly recommend it to everyone who wanna lunch there. lol. then we ordered bandung as drink. it had been quite some time since i last tasted bandung. but i was too full to finish the huge cup of bandung and so got to waste it cos eugene is freaking full already. a rare event for him. :X

we took a bus over to sentosa cos we are lazy to walk back to vivocity and i thought i could get a sentosa pass of the different color. but in the end i only managed to collect the blue one and a green one. but i am still missing one colour of which i forgot what the colour is.

on our way into sentosa, we took quite a number of pictures. partly because we were bored and partly because i wanted to take pictures of the sceneries around us. haha. act like i am sua ku who had never been to sentosa before. lol

me and dear on the bus on our way to sentosa.

the monorail tracks.

the monorail heading in and out of sentosa.

welcome to sentosa~~!!

reached sentosa beach station (which is the main station now) and we went to buy the tickets for the Songs of the Sea (19:40 show). (the tickets were sold out pretty early and so we got it early.) in addition, eugene also got his islander card which entitles him to offers and much more discounts so that he can save up more for my present. haha. after that we also went to buy the tickets for the luge and skyride. however as the weather is freaking hot, we decided to go up to the carlsberg sky towers before taking the sky ride.

took a blue line bus up to the carlsberg sky towers.

with our hands together, we should be able to face all troubles and defeat them.

took hell lots of pictures. *most of them are repetitive.*

the carlsberg tower.

the view of sentosa and the merlion.

the butterfly park.

the used to be sentosa ferry terminal.

frankly speaking, this experience is freaking expensive ($12 bucks per person) perhaps cos the whole thing didnt last very long and that we didn't really get to go really that high up. nevertheless i enjoyed myself taking pictures of the sceneries around me. though i felt that the price may not be really worth it.

and there is also a taking picture session and we bought the pictures there after asking for a retake. lol. cos i wanted it for souvenir. bleah. and i made him spend more. :X

the picture they took for us.

after that we took bus down to the beach station. instead of going for the skyride and luge (cos i am worried that the hot sun on the ride of the sky ride will affect the view), we went to Café del Mar for a drink and a sun-tan. i ordered apple juice while eugene ordered some alcoholic drinks. which cost both of us about 22 bucks. which is quite worthwhile.

so yeeling, the next time if you wanna tan,we should go there. jus order a drink and can laze around there for the whole day. bleah. and those who are not willing to be tanned can open up the umbrella and have fun on the bed, play dai dee also can. and if you are sian of the weather and will like to soak yourself, there is a pool as well. and it is not as sandy as the sea, which means it is cleaner as well. furthermore, their toilets are pretty clean and well maintained. great place to laze around in a beach. =) *now, i sound like i am advertising for them*

here we are waiting for a tram to the beach.

at the beach, in my bikinis.

me and mr lee.

a solo pic.

lying down together, on the cosy sofa.

went to the swimming pool there. which is not very deep. so no worries about drowning. more for people who wanna suntan in the water.

me and eugene in the waters again. =)

darrell and huiping also came along to sun bathe at Café del Mar and so we asked them to help us take care of our personal belongings while we went to shower.

after that we went on to take the skyride and the luge. it is so exciting. i have more interest in the sky ride, compared to the luge. perhaps because i have never try a bumper car before. lol.

while waiting for the sky ride.

on the sky ride.

the height we are at. someone is scared. :X

the other sky riders.

the canopy of trees. i think eugene likes this.

heading towards landing. the ride is quite short for me. :(

on our way back to land

reaching the land and luge here we come.

i enjoyed the skyride. cos i have no fear of height and so i enjoyed it very much. furthermore it is not often we got to such an eagle's view of everything. i guess the view would have been much better if it was near sunset. seeing the sunset would have been nice.

a safety precaution: wear a helmet.

making funny faces while waiting to take the luge ride.

anyway, i guess i am not up to driving. why would i say that? i have some difficulty controling that vehicle, the luge especially the brakes. i release the brakes too quickly leading to the luge pausing suddenly. but the ride was fun!! perhaps we should go try it once more. *grins* and this time round with much more speed. hehe.

ate at the tastes of singapore which is near the beach station. hehe.

Tastes of Singapore is the place we eat.

euegene waiting patiently for his food

fish and chips. yummy.

squeezing lemon on the fishy fish.

my medium rare steak. so small portion. :( it was my first time eating steak. it is quite juicy and tender cos it is medium rare. not too bad, i like it. :P

then we headed out to the beach to take some pictures of the sun setting. since i am lazy to walk further down the beach as we had to rushed back to queue up for the Songs of the Sea, we are not able to take some very good pictures.

the sun is setting

as dusk drew near.

finally got to sit down at the benches and watch Songs of the Sea after queuing up for the seats. since it is free-seating and people always want the best seats. so kiasu people gotta queue for the seats loh. lol. and we are not ashamed to admit that we were the few of them. :X

waiting for the Song of the Seas to start, we have camera whoring again.

the village.

it is mainly about a little boy,Li with the singing power to heal. in the show, there is the Fire Monster, Goddess of the Sea, Queen of light as well as a sleeping princess, Princess Ami of which Li helped to release their powers as well as to wake the sleeping beauty up. it is more of a fairy tale kind of show.

the show started off with a group of children who are happily singing, and surprisingly they sang songs which are more suitable for national day - singapura, chan mali chan, munnaeru vaalibaa and one more chinese song, i forgot what. haha. for a moment, we thought we were at the national stadium watching the preview of the national day parade.

the actors and actresses dancing and singing happily.

and they asked Li who is pretty shy (i assume) to sing as well and ...

the sleeping Princess Ami was awaken by Li's powerful singing for a shortwhile. afterwhich Li is determined to wake this sleeping beauty up with his singing.

and he received the help of a group of mischevious sea animals.

the seahorse.

the jellyfish

another kind of fish, i don't know what.

and Oscar

first they encountered the Fire Monster who is trapped in the rock and he was awaken by Li's singing as well.

the Fire Monster releasing of his power.

fire in the village as the Fire Monster releases his power.

the Queen of Light asking Li for a favour to help her to seek for her long-lost light

the Queen of Light releases her powers.

and with Li's help, she regained her power.

the Goddess of Sea

with Li's powerful voice and the help of his friends, they tried to help the Goddess of Sea.

beautiful fountain.

the Goddess of Sea regained her powers as well.

the Princess Ami who was fast asleep was too awaken by Li's singing.

Oscar feeling happy that the Princess and all the others were lifted of a sleeping spell casted in the village.

and it is a happy ending afterall

a celebration with the fireworks.

shooting stars? nah,it is just another fireworks.

shimmering fireworks. and it is the end of the show.

i like the 3-D laser effect. it was great. *small note: according to professor eugene lee jx, the 3-D laser effect is actually pyrotechnics and psychedelic lasers, which is the special effects with lasers and lightings. well, we learn something new everyday.* in addition, there is also the "musical fountain"-like performance as well as some small fireworks. if the storyline isnt attractive enough, i suppose the musical fountain performance as well as the fireworks make the show worthwhile.

me *this is a test to see if we can be spotted in darkness. lol*

eugene and i. thanks to the lady who offered to help us take the picture.

after that we took the blue line up to the imbia station to the cable car station to take a ride to mount faber. was pretty excited as it had been quite some time since i last took a cable car. and i have never been to mount faber before.

off to mount faber. in the cable car.

the night view of singapore.

a view from mount faber.

from where we were seating at the Jewel Cottage.

the roads, once noisy and busy.

headed to the Altivo which is beside Jewel Cottage. *didn't know that Jewel COttage is not the name of the bar until eugene told me. feel so sua ku*

the Jewel Cottage. i took this picture because i thought that it was the place we went to.

it is quite a nice chill out place just that the both of us were wearing t-shirts and shorts and looks a bit funny. since i find it weird, the both of us took turns to go and changed into something more appropriate. which i think i am also not wearing something very appropriate. most of them wore dresses. anyway,it is my birthday and i have the privillege. bleah.

self taken by us.

another self-taken photos. lol.

while waiting for the drinks to arrive.

i ordered long island beach while eugene ordered walking on the beach.

walking on the beach and long island tea.

chatted with eugene all the while mainly about the trip to sentosa today while enjoying the music the band played. quite a nice atmosphere. can even say it is quite romantic. if it is not,i guess i have never been to a more romantic place.

illusion. we ordered this after eugene finished his walking on the beach.

dear looking sian. but at the same time adorable. truly my ben ben. :X

after that darrell and huiping came to join us. and we ordered illusion, singapore sling, cosmopolitan, as well as a plate of nachos which eugene didnt eat cos he didnt like nachos itself. we chatted and took silly pictures while waiting for the time to come.

eugene and i taken by huiping i think.

illusion, singapore sling and cosmopolitan

i guess i am the bored one to take pictures of the coaster

the blurred CBD area which i took while looking at the scenery from where we are sitting.

as the clock struck 12, or rather a bit later than 12, a group of waiters came marching towards our seat, singing the birthday song for me. one of them holding a chocolate cake with 2 large candles and 2 small one. luckily they didnt have any sparkler or made me stand on the chair or what. if not i think i will be freaking paiseh.

happy birthday to me!! =) the chocolate fudge cake eugene bought from bedok block 86.

the people singing birthday song for me. cool.

make a wish

blowing the candles.

cutting the cake. i am not sure why i am not smiling. perhaps because i know i am 1 year older le ba. :(

giving my dear a kiss for all that he had done for me.

and he gave me a birthday kiss in return

the both of us happy together. =)

after that, we headed back to eugene's place to rest before going to east coast to watch sunrise. sad to say,i am so tired that i cant wake up and so we miss the sunrise!!! :( never mind, there is always a next time.

however, we took a morning walk to one of the wet market nearby and ate kuay chap. it was very nice. comparable to the one that used to be at block 201. perhaps even better cos the aunties there are friendlier and less dao. lol. after that we helped to da bao the kuay chap back for his family as well.

after that the both of us went back to our respective homes to rest which marked the end of the celebration.
