Talking Lola

Both Madeline and Lola talk a lot. So much so, that my friend gina commented on it on our way to Long Beach...."Do they ever stop talking?" Hmm....no. I just figured it was because they were girls.

Lola woke up from her nap today and was just talking away...to herself. I let her be, thinking that maybe she'd go back to sleep. I crept up to the door to eavesdrop on the conversation she was having with herself. First she says, "Oh, man." A second later she says, "Bonked on the head" followed by a sucking up air sound and then, "What happened? That's funny." I guess she's just practicing her catch phrases. But it momentarily made me laugh. :)

I was watching Project Runway when Madeline woke up from her nap. She sat down and watched with me for a few minutes and was very intrigued by what they were doing. She asked me if I could make a dress like them....nevermind that I can barely sew a button on. I told her that I wasn't a very good seamstress, and couldn't sew very well. She says, "I'll teach you mom....I can sew. Go get my sewing box." (Maria has put together a little sewing kit for her with various scraps of material, needles and thread.) This is a collaborative effort between Mads and Nanny.

So apparently Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" is the song of the summer. Just witness my family jamming out....crazy.....

Best Friends

Madeline and Kate have been friends since they were babies. We recently had an all girls trip to Long Beach where Kate's grandma (mema) lives. We hit the beach, hung out with "Uncle Chris," threw water balloons and just chilled out.
