Solo Goes for Broke

So almost every day, Miranda spends some time outside, just hanging out.  Sometimes upside down.

Monday, we drove to ID to get THE PUPPY.  All of us.  We're so excited for Zues #2.

We traveled home with him:

-->
And played,

And cuddled,

And napped.

He is so loved and adored.

Meanwhile, this happened:

And life clipped along at its fast pace.  The kitchen got taped off,

And sealed up for painting.

-->
While the contents of the kitchen hung out in the library.

That night, we divided & conquered.  Miranda went to work, I took the twins to their piano recital at a sweet nursing home,

Morgan & Carlie went to their Choir Luau,

Jeff stayed home with the puppy, (more progress on the kitchen taping)

and I ran to Derek's choir recital.

Phew!

Wednesday, I got to go to Connor's little 3rd grade singing program.  He was so cute!!!

They did a little dance section: a little square dancing to Solomon Levi... OH MY GOSH.

-->
Went home, cuddled the puppy,

Went back to the school for H&K's performance... Last one for elementary school!!!

For their extra performance enhancement, they played the handbells... it was such a cool effect with the song!!

Meanwhile, the cabinets got painted white and unmasked:

After school, Connor had a Cub Scout field trip to the Temple for one of his achievements:

-->

And that night, we had a special guest speaker come and talk to all the YW about rising above our challenges.  When she was young, she lost her leg and has gone on to do all the things she's wanted to.  It's amazing.

Thursday!  Sorry for all the kitchen pics, but it made such a difference in here!!  We'll get doors later.

That afternoon, Miranda worked with Jeff and I actually got a picture!!  Everyone loves her there.

Carlie did a self portrait for class:

And everyone took turns holding the puppy when he got tired:

BUT THEN... HE BROKE HIS LEG.  He was SO SAD and screaming and crying.

We left on our trip to CA, but Jeff felt like he should stay here and find out what was wrong with the puppy; if his leg was really broken, and what we should do about it.

Friday, Jeff took Solo to the vet,

-->
Who confirmed that it was broken in a V shape.

The vet wrapped the pup's leg up for us.

And we felt SUPER SORRY for him!! But all of this was going down:

We kept getting pictures of the stuff happening at home - Cabinet doors,

Very last soccer games,

While we waited for valets to bring us our car.  Poor us.

While Miranda hung out with you, Carlie & I went to see Detective Pikachu in your luxury theater.  We are not used to recliners for our movies.  =)

Then we went You Know Where with you guys with your cousins:

And besties:

The city was breathtaking from up on the temple wall:

This is while all the Madsen children went to Aladdin with Jeff.  EXCELLENT MOVIE.

The next day, we went to church to hear someone speak.  He did amazing.  His testimony is so bright and strong.  It was awesome.  =)

-->
For a little diversion, we went on a drive around neighborhoods, and had to get a picture of this driveway... the picture just doesn't capture it.  It is so steep, and all I could think was that it would never make it in UT.  The snow... You would never get into your driveway, but you could definitely zoom DOWN.

Then we went to the institute building with you, and played pool,

blowpong, at which Miranda was extremely proficient!

And I'm so glad Tyler & Bethany could come by and hang out, too!

Last thing for this night: FB decided to tell me what my most commented upon post was in 2016.  (???)  I'll take it.

Memes!!

SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU!!!  That was awesome.  =)  xoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoox, us
