Today's the third day I worked at this funfair thingy by the beach. Mixed feelings bout it.
Pros: pays a little more than the restaurant plus doing less and get to meet people (other workers are mostly backpackers from Germany - for some reason lol and there's this cute French guy who couldn't understand me saying no no when I changed my mind bout him helping to set up the huge umbrella - too windy maa).
Cons: under the sun (though I haven't been feeling the heat cause it's been windy (good for surfers I guess) and I get rostered to the water slides/pools..had freezing moments cause all I have had on were shorts and a singlet underneath the holey long sleeved shirt), and I don't know when my shifts end..like they're pretty short - like not whole days, just hours..and they have been clashing with some of the shifts that I could've gotten at the restaurant when the other girls couldn't make it.
Having said all that though, I still prefer working away from the restaurant..I think there have been way too many girls since the past week..and everybody wants almost the same day offs..and I've had them asking for my shifts (fair I guess but I really would like to work lots...). Then there's also those little dramas at the restaurant. Sucks..I hope these will work out..needa earn a bit more..plus I've been spending!! Damn post Christmas sales (and pre actually hehe).
Butkan. Somehow I don't regret not going back this time. I am having fun going around earning money and meeting people and wearing hentam2 like the ozzies here do lol. Geez I hope I don't start liking this place. That'll suck....

Stuffs that have been bugging me
1. Fix the aircond or not? Hmm..will prolly wait till I have had enough of it in summer. How bout the dent? Hmm..
2. Co-pekerja yg x pulling her weight. Fortunately, people realise.
3. The lil drama here. Jealousyjealousy? (I actually find it pretty hilarious). Talked to J about it and my conclusion: J knows me too well. Funny how people can misunderstand a situation so much and I won't even bother clarifying it (mebe I did, well I thought I did, at least a bit to 'victim') - prolly cause right from the start I knew it'll be in vain and will not be worth the energy. And at the other extreme, there's J who can basically say all the things I can't bring myself to say (cause in the end I still do not want to hurt anyone [more]) loll.
To J: I appreciate you for having a really high EQ and being among the coolest straightforward talking people I know. When I end up insane, you should totally be my psychologist (or spokesperson).
4. Accommodation after the contract at this cockroach-infested place ends.
5. Some job thingies. Still too premature to elaborate on this.
6. Finding enough stuff to talk about in equity selectives reportss. When I first began the project, it was hard to come up with a particular topic of interest. Now that I'm well into it, I'm struggling to stay put with one. There's one that breaks my heart everytime I come across it but unfortunately, it may not be all too fitting for the group/coordinator I'm doing this with.
Despite all these, I feel pretty happy now. Prolly cause I have icecream in the freezer ^^

Lol...I don't mean to cause anyone any offence but bahah. I especially like the comments by:
Ming [violent - head smashed - bogans],
concerned [how can it be categorised in top cities when there's no city centre]
judged [probably see surviving a week in Newy as an adventure holiday]
The beaches are awesome and the views breathtaking but otherwise, meh. A good place to raise a family or grow old tho (just don't come out after dark lol) or for wine lovers.
However, after all these, like honestly honestly speaking, I'd actually be contented too if I'm able to rent a place facing the sea - and I know students who do that - now if only I can get the money...
I don't have images of newcastle but since I was in Toronto today (25 mins away):

Madness
Still 12 hours before the week officially ends - soo looking forward to next week gah. So after weeks of tormenting thoughts of not being able to survive this week financially, I learnt a few new things that ensures my non-death even with no money for food and a roof above my head (exaggerated la - more along the lines of grocery and rent - which kinda don't matter as I still have chicken in the freezer, tuna in the pantry and I doubt I'll get kicked out for delaying a couple of weeks of rent). But still unnerving ok.
Stuff I did (mainly yesterday):
1. Did my car rego renewal (for 6 months woo! - cutting the cost to half with a little extra, but hey, at least I could pay for this week's rent). One thing I regretted was not getting an appointment for car servicing earlier for the extended warranty (there's a consequence for this..).
2. Changed my mind yet again about the topic I'm choosing to focus on for selectives. In the meeting, my coordinator said it's a topic which is relatively untouched so I might not be able to get as much help and resources like the other group members. Boy am I looking forward to this.
3. 2 reports for submission on Monday - one relatively simple, the other is actually a resubmission of a case which I now have vague memories of. I hope this time it's received better =( (trying not to pour out my peeves for this and the marker - such a long way from what I thought about the marker months ago).
4. Trained for my waitressing debut and am considering whether or not to do the other job (contract work spamming people's mailboxes) today. Not sure if it's a good idea..there's still a backlog of things to do apart from waitressing (without taking orders yet hehe but more on this next time) tonight. I hope I get free food again and make it last for 2 meals - every meal is like gold now D=
Sooo in conclusion, a nap is due (before I start running around again) zzz
O and I think I lost my driver's license (international license saved my butt during last night's breath test).
