This last weekend we went up to Oroville for my sister in laws baby shower and my nephews baby blessing. It was a lot of fun hnaing out with all of the family! Whenever we go to Oroville, I try to get a family snapshot because here we never have anyone to get a picture of all of us together. So heres one of the many attempts and the girls just wouldn't cooperate.....

A few weeks ago my parents decided to just come on a friday evening to hang out. My dad and Isaiah were playing lego's while my mom and the girls were making cookies. The girls were such great helpers and the cookies were soooo good!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is a very special day.... my mother's birthday! My mother, one of my best friends, my mentor, my example.... amongst many other things! I am so lucky to have such a great mother and our kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful grandma. Thank you mom for all you do for us!! I often think back to my childhood and remember how my mom reacted to different situations and how she handled things and it helps me with my own children. How she is so loving and kind and will do anything and everything for us kids, no matter how tired she was. And I'm especially reminded of the strength she always had in taking care of us. I appreciate her example from back in the day until now. I don't know what I would do without it and her! There is a song that reminds me of her every time I hear it. And the words are... "I watched you, dear mother, each day of my life; I've seen how you smile through the joy and the strife. I've needed your love and have known you were there. I've seen how you help to bring answers to prayers. The world that surrounds me is blind and unsure, but with you as my mother, I'm safe and secure. Going to Disneyland in a few weeks.... any advice?

Alright... so we're going to Disneyland in a few weeks! I haven't been in 12 years and it's been like 21 years for Jason. And of course the kids have never been! So we are very very excited to embark on this adventure. It'll be our first roadtrip with the 4 kids! Soooo... I know a lot of you have gone before with your kids and I would greatly appreciate any advice any of you have! We'll be spending 1 day at Disneyland and 1 day at California Adventure. We can't wait! YAHOOOOOOO!!!!

Mommy & Elijah

Life has been busy in the McOmber household. With the kids going to school, Jason's unpredictable work schedule, soccer starting for Maci & Zae, dance starting for Maci & Sadee, & Sadee being sick with an awful cough.... I don't know how other moms do it. Life is great though. Mommy is feeling great finally, but definately suffering from lack of sleep. Elijah is such a wonderful chill baby, but he has some major gas/constipation problems and it hits him worse at night. So I live on about 3 hours of sleep a night and my mind is feeling very clouded and my body is feeling quite weak. But this will soon pass, so it's all good. Gotta be tough, gotta be tough (as my Grandpa Meyer would say)! I haven't been taking as many pictures because I forget... see, clouded mind. But I am going to try to do better! So here are a few pics of Elijah and me. He's just sooo cute!

 

 

 

Happy Birthday Raquel! (Aunt Rocky)

Yesterday was my sister, Raquel's birthday. I'm thankful to live close enough to Oroville so we can go up today and celebrate it with her. I am so thankful to have Raquel as my big sister. I have so many good memories growing up of her. I am amazed by her. She is such a strong person and has amazing endurance..... working a crazy job, taking care of her family, cleaning & cooking, she just does it all and never complains about it. And she is sooo organized & so supportive of her husband and children! She is a great example to me and I love her so much!! Happy Birthday Aunt Rocky.... we love you!!

Here are Daddy and Elijah sleeping. Daddy worked 21 hours the day before and was exhausted, yet offered to hold Elijah while I got some stuff done. I just couldn't resist putting this picture up. It's so cute!! I love how Elijah always pulls his legs up under his belly. Poor thing probably misses being all warm and snuggly in the womb. But he's doing really well! He had his 2 week appointment today and weighs 10 lbs. 10 oz. So he's growing day by day and strong and healthy. What more can a mom ask for!

Happy Birthday Spencer!!

Today is Spencer's birthday! I'm bummed though because I won't be seeing him at all today and I probably won't see him for a long time now that school has started back up for him. Oh Spence, I know you hate hearing mushy compliments, so I won't bother you with those. I am truly thankful to have Spencer as my closest sibling in age. Spencer has always been the type of guy that when someone was fighting in our house growing up, he would start singing "Love at Home." I remember it would drive me crazy, but now I do that to my own kids. He's always been a stalwart example to me and I appreciate it. Thanks Spence for being a great brother!
