Happy Birthday Dad McOmber!

We drove up to Oroville on tuesday to help celebrate Dad McOmber's big 5-9 birthday! It's so weird to think our parents are that age. To me, it seems like that's grandma and grandpas age and our parents should be in their 30's! But wait... I guess we're the parents now.... whoa! But anyway, it was nice getting up there for a few hours to celebrate with him and the family. To me, birthdays are something very special... it's a day to celebrate special people in our lives coming into this world. We don't have a lot of pics of Dad growing up and when he was younger, but here's a few....

Dad on his wedding day. 1969... what a stud!

Dad in Vietnam. 1969.... We are so thankful for him and anyone else who has served in our military and fought for our freedoms and have fought for other countries freedoms.

Celebrating the big 59! April 22nd 2008

When we lived in Utah, we of course didn't have a chance to be around on birthdays. So we would always try to make a sign or something to wish our loved ones a happy birthday. He's one I found made especially for Grandpa McOmber. Weren't Maci and Isaiah so cute?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Swinging at the park!

We are loving the fact that the weather is warming up now. So we can go outside and enjoy it. Roseville has at least 50 parks that I know of. So we have our pick of parks to go to that are within 3-4 miles of us. So here are some pics of the kids enjoying the swings at a new park we tried out.

Fishing at Collins Lake!

We took our first fishing trip this last saturday to Collins Lake. After many years of Jason in school, we've decided that we are definately getting out this summer... A LOT! Saturday was the warmest day of this year thus far at a whopping 89 degrees and we knew it would be a perfect time to go fishing for the first time as a family. We really needed a happy, positive, fun, no drama, no stress, relaxing family outing.... With this being a very sick pregnancy for me and the majority of the month of March we had the stomach flu and high fever, we just needed to get away! So we drove an hour north of here, (30 mins east of Oroville), to Collins Lake. We had heard that a 1-2 weeks before, they had planted a ton of trout. So we thought it would be the perfect time to go. Well, to our surprise, they had only planted the trout 2 days before we were there. There were a lot of people on the banks fishing and even more out on the lake. To our knowledge, not one fish was caught. That includes us too. We fished for about 6 1/2 hours and didn't catch a thing. But it's all good cause we had a blast hanging out, enjoying the outdoors, and enjoying spending time together. My lil bro Derek, lil sis Cami, and neice Shelby came up too. It was a wonderful day and we were thankful to have a happy & no stress day! Here are some pics from the day.... hope you enjoy them!! PS We plan on going fishing a lot this summer, so if anyone is interested in going, let us know!

Jason relaxing in the shade!

Isaiah loves to fish!!

Here are Maci & Sadee in the back of the jeep enjoying the shade!

Isaiah's all set.... He spent half the time holding the rod and the other half freestanding.

We made some friends up there.... 4 geese. They hung out with us for a good hour and we fed them some crackers. They came right up on the bank with us and hung out. The kids loved getting so close to them and hand feeding them.

Shelby & the girls!

Ewwwwww.....sicko Derek! He thought it would be funny to pretend to eat some worms!

Aunt Cami showing Isaiah her mad fishing skills!

Awwww.... Derek & Cami.... thanks for coming guys!

Maci caught a stick!! Wohooo! She was practicing casting out her line with the stick on the end of it.

Shelby helping Sadee reel in the stick!

Here we are, The McOmber Family, after 6 1/2 hours of fishing!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Collin's Lake has a store that has some super duper ice cream cones. The scoops were huge!! So after a fun day of fishing, we topped it off with some yummy ice cream. As you can see, some of us got more on our faces than in our tummy's. :-) Sadee's ice cream was alomst bigger than her..... She decided the easiest way to eat it was to rest it on her shirt and she held it like a football most of the time. Of course she didn't finish it, and she realized that she was covered in chocolate when she was done. She didn't like the fact we were all laughing at her.... it was just too funny how she was covered in it! What a good daddy! He didn't want Sadee feeling left out so he got some on his face too! This is after we cleaned Maci up and as you can see, she still has plenty on her face! The ice cream made her a little silly! She's so funny!
