I can never get Maci to actually smile for a picture.... but I finally did! So I had to celebrate by posting it on here. How do you like Jason's helmet head? hahaha... he says hes going to keep growing his hair until he graduates in May..... um, can you say Afro? Of course he's just joking. He's been spending so much quality time with us that he hasn't had a chance to get it cut. 1/17/07
Sadee is 5 months old now! And yes, she got Grandpa Meyer's kinky curly hair. I try to comb it straight when its wet, but as you can see, it doesn't work. 1/15/07

Fort Bragg

We took a quick last minute trip to Fort Bragg, CA. One would think, california beach = warm. But you have to remember that this is Northern California and not southern. It was beautiful weather!! 65 degrees, but the wind from the ocean made it freezing!! So we bundled up and hung out on the beach. Sadee was wearing a snow suit and the locals thought we were weird. But we weren't going to let some cold wind stop us from seeing the kids experience the beach and ocean for the first time. Isaiah went there as a baby and a 1 year old, but it's been 3 years since we've been there. The kids loved it so much and wanted to play in the ocean. We can get away with playing in the numb freezing cold water during the summer afternoons when it's warm, but there was no way to play in it while it was cold outside. We had a lot of fun though and it was the perfect getaway before Jason's last semester starts up in a week. It was beautiful over there though and made me realize how much I love California and the geography of the state. The only thing that is awful about going to Fort Bragg from Oroville is the last 33 miles of the trip. It's zig zags and takes an hour for those 33 miles. The kids threw up on the way home, and we were even going slow. It just brought back the many memories of my own brothers and cousins bouts with car sickness on our many trips there throughout the years. So it was a fun experience and we're hoping to create many more memories over there, but with friends and family. Hint hint! ;-)
