Blame It On the Boogie

September has flown by!  We enjoyed our long Labor Day weekend and our first holiday from big school.  We tye-dyed!  And then Merritt started school! He loves music time with Mrs. Julia!  I haven't stopped missing him yet.

Mason and Miles both participated in The Fun Run!

And then we left for a short camping trip and rafted the Hiawassee River!
It's been an up and down journey with Weight Watchers this month.  Down enough at the begining of the month to not have to pay, but used the rest of the month to gain, gain and gain some more.  Now it's the end of the month and I've got lots to get off before next week's first of the month weigh-in.  I talked to my leader this morning about the cycle I'm in - lose enough to be free, then gain, then lose enough again.  She said it happens with folks who've just hit lifetime.  But we had a great meeting today and I feel excited and energized about the Plan!  It's eight weeks of focus - with a different focus each week and I can totally do it!

Just Know You're Not Alone, I'm Going to Make This Place Your Home

When we first met Mrs. Elaine and toured her preschool, Merritt was still in my tummy!  And now, he is a student there!  He's been a little hot and cold about going to school.  Over the weekend, it was a big no!  But this morning, he was talking about it and seemed excited.  I was ready to keep him home forever.  He's so fun to have around - chatty, entertaining!  I'm going to miss him (I already do)!  Went for a run after dropping him off.  I've got to drop at least .2 before Friday's weigh-in!

Shine On Us

Improvement on the 10K time - last year's Peachtree was 1:22:53 - so a better time at the Celebrate Freedom this morning (1:09:51)!  A gain at WW though!

The Way You Smile

So we survived another year of each other!  And chose to celebrate with a crazy fun day trip to New York City!  Some sightseeing, shopping and a tiny bit of free Broadway - we were so tired, but it was neat to plan something so different and actually make it work!  Happy 15th to us!

And we celebrated Merritt's FOURTH birthday!  Wow - our baby is 4 and starting school!

Guess it was time to take the side off the crib and give him a big boy bed!

Finally back on track at Weight Watchers!  Had to pay at my first meeting back because I was over my goal by more than two pounds!  But have gotten on track and had a good few weeks lately.  Curious and excited to see what the scale says in the morning!  And my first day back at big school shelving in the library!

Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys

But I guess they do have to grow up.  And I knew that.  But wow - so much in one short amount of time?  Mason lost both his top teeth (one last week and one Sunday morning before church while eating a donut) and now Miles is at big school and Merritt will start preschool soon.  And while all of this was happening, Belle had to go to the emergency vet last night - she seemed to have some sort of seizure!  I had visions of myself home all alone!  But the vet couldn't find anything wrong - she's tired today and doesn't seem her usual playful self, so I hope she bounces back quickly.

I hope I don't need Coffe and Kleenex next week - today's Open House went really well!  Both boys have great teachers and it was great to walk into school and feel welcome and at home!  Merritt wore his backpack - he had binoculars too, but left those behind!  Afterward, I asked Miles how he felt about going to big school - he said he was excited about the fort in his new classroom and nervous about actually finding his room!

Oh - it's Olympic Fever around here - lots of screen time, but so much fun!  The boys love spotting our flag and keeping up with the medal counts!  I just want to tour London and run into my favorite Brit - David Beckham!

Another One Bites the Dust

Another lost tooth - Mason and Miles are now tied at 3!  Mason lost his first top tooth yesterday while soaking in the tub!  We're winding down with some big summer activity - LEGO Discovery Center, Dahlonega, Fernbank!  Next week is our last week of summer vacation and as always, the summer has gone by too fast.  I'm not ready to send either of my big boys to big school.

Made Lifetime at Weight Watchers last Saturday.  So glad to have that behind me!  A LONG year and a half journey of getting it off - now to begin keeping it off!  So in one morning, I earned my Lifetime charm and Belle earned a Musical Sit ribbon.  Go Team!

You're Only A Day Away

Our July 4th Cake (I had one small piece only)
I think tomorrow is my six-week maintenance mark (I missed a weigh-in at the beach).  To become a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, you have to a) make goal, b) maintain for six weeks and c) at the end of the six weeks, be no more than two pounds above (or below) your goal.  I'm nervous.  I gained the week of General Assembly and went completely off-plan at the beach and the week after the beach, after following the plan closely, I was still up .2.  I would love to become a lifetime member tomorrow (and stop paying).  Honestly, I don't know if I have it in me - 64.8 pounds came off fairly easily in less than 12 months.  But these last six months have been an up and down struggle.  I know I have extra weight to still lose - I do have a mirror, but my body seems to be really happy at this weight - where I've been hovering for half a year.  When do I cut my losses (financially) and end this cycle?  I guess I'll decide after the weigh-in (which I'm dragging all the children to).

July 4th Glow

Even Belle Glows
Just an ordinary summer evening
After Weight Watchers, we're planning to hit a Daybreak Dash - a family fun run that I read about today.  It said: run, walk, stroll or skip.  Merritt skips - all the time - it's his mode of transportation.  I hope he skips all the way through the fun run in the morning.  I actually hope we can all get to the fun run - on time and without tears.  I do have a Krispy Kreme coupon burning a hole in my pocket.

Hello Sunshine

We've been on the road for the past two weeks!  Week One was our denomination's yearly General Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky (a town I'd never visited) and Week Two was our family vacation to the beach (back to Mexico Beach which we fell in love with last year).  I felt like I stayed on the weight watcher wagon in Louisville - exercised daily and make fairly good choices at meals, but when I weighed in that Saturday, I was up two pounds!  I'm on 6 week maintenance - so I need to stay within 2 lbs of my goal to become a lifetime member (i.e. not pay).  So, instead of tightening the reins on vacation - I instead ate everything in sight.  We arrived at the beach along with Tropical Storm Debby - so a few initial days of crazy blowing rain.  And eating.  And more eating.  I thought we might need to come on home because I'd eaten all the food we'd packed.  But when we woke on Tuesday morning - sun was peaking through the blinds - what a joyous sight!  It was a fun two weeks, but it's great to be home (and tackling laundry)!

July is here and although that means another whole month until school starts, I'm already getting anxious, dreading sending them all to some sort of school this year.  I held a chunky baby boy yesterday at the pool - I didn't try to nurse him (but I sort-of wanted to).
