So after being at the beach at Jekyll Island for a few days we left a day early. We wanted to travel to Albany, GA to see a few sites where the church from Sherwood Baptist have done Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. It was really cool to drive through this town. We were reminding Makayla and Drew that these people are just like us. We have taught them the 10 commandments and know that number 2 is to have no idols. With that said we stopped at many stops and even returned a pillow at the walmart there and took a potty break. Also visited my favorite part in the movie where the little girl dances and also where "Adam" finishes his dance and prays. Also took another potty break at the burger king.
God is Good! All the time..
we were not expecting to see anyone from any of the movies they have made thus far..and even again told the kids they are men like daddy. They are husbands and fathers and do life like us basically and they just make movies that are God honoring and that's why we wanted to just take a look around. We have been blessed with everything God has laid on their hearts to make. My very favorite is Flywheel. So we stopped at TCBY yogurt place on our way out and as we were paying an arm and leg for our "treat" :) the girl behind the counter and I were talking about where we were from and why we were visiting. As I told her she said that the Kendrick brothers come in frequently. As I made my way to our table I asked Josh if he heard that. Our little Makayla said well maybe they will come in today. I said well they may not but really what would you say, again saying they are ordinary men. Makayla responded I will tell them my favorite part is the snake king :) Drew said "I will just keep eating my ice cream" HA! Love that little boy :) As we were backing out, the corner of my eye caught Mr Alex Kendrick pulling into the drive thru at TCBY. I told Josh quickly who parked the van and got out (while Mr Alex was ordering his treat) I didn't think to ask my husband what he would do if we saw anyone from the movies :) I love how bold my husband is becoming. Mr Alex told Josh that he would pull around to meet us. Josh was walking back to the van when Mr Stephen Kendrick pulled behind his brother in the drive thru not even planned! So far we left Jekyll Island a day earlier than expected, stopped at many sites, took potty breaks and ended up at a yogurt stop and met brothers in Christ...
Makayla did what she said she would do..Yep she acted out the snake king to Mr Alex! They both were very nice and even asked if we had a camera and they would take a picture with us, which by the way I did leave my camera in the van and was not going to ask for a picture because again teaching our little ones about how people on tv have lives alot like us :). It was really cool how Mr Stephen asked his son to take this picture of all of us.I will admit I was super excited when the invitation came from Mr Alex about the camera! Being the picture taker that I am and all...I think they were amazed at this divine intervention as well as we told this story to them of all the stops we made.
We don't know if God will allow them to make another movie..HE may, HE may not..We will continue to pray for these guys and their church as we are all one body and know that God's hand is definitely on their ministry. To God be the Glory!
