DAY#19 OF THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

It's another day at DE-STEMPELWINKEL for me.... those guys must be getting pretty tired of me by now.... but i do so love my Halloween things.

            I have had this small chest of drawers waiting to be altered for ages..... so out came the stamps.... red and orange paint..... a tiny bit of ribbon and 4 brads..... TRICK OR TREAT chest of drawers.
Handy to keep all my spare body parts in...... now you're not sure if  i'm joking or not... are you?

DAY #18 OF THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

Welcome to day #18... wow this month is really flying by..... its my day at DE-STEMPELWINKEL.... i know...again.... hope no ones totally fed up with me ....YET!
I thought today i'd be a little quirky.... not cute... ok its quirky cute......

.......... i have an owl money box to share with you. When i found him in a pound store i just knew he'd make a lovely Halloween ornament. I sanded him down, before painting him this terrific purple.

 I stamped the images onto tissue, heat embossed, cut out fairly neatly and adhered to the painted owl with watered down PVA. Once dry i painted around the images to neaten the finish. I used sukura pens to do the details and around his eyes. A coat of vanish finished the owl off nicely. A cheap project, perfect for Halloween..... and you can save your pennies in him for next Halloween.

DAY #17 OF THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN and a new challenge at DRAGONS DREAMS.

Welcome to day #17 and the new challenge at DRAGONS DREAMS.
..... it's Sue's turn  to set this fortnights challenge. So in the words of Oscar Wilde - 'I CAN RESIST ANYTHING BUT TEMPTATION'....... Personally I cant resist much at all.... Sue's recipe requires the use of a resist technique, the colour red and a temptation - it's that simple! Don't forget to use at least one real stamp..... and of cause it must be a TAG!
I took a piece of red paper, stamped a Harlequin pattern in grey......which you can hardly see now but.... Once dry i stamped with versamark, text and a winged heart heat embossed with clear embossing powder then inked all over my tag with black ink.

The word passion is stamped over the top in black.Now who can refuse a little PASSION? The image is from SMEARED INK...stamped onto thin paper, fussy cut and pasted on. I coloured my image with promarkers... and the red matte layer is also coloured with them.... then the whole lot layered onto black card stock. Happy Halloween is a rub-on as i didnt fancy heat embossing over my already embossed back ground...a bit of a cheat i know... but hey... we all have to cheat at times :) It would be great if you could join us this fortnight.... DAY #16 OF THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

Welcome to day #16...today i have two projects to share with you, both made with CS DESIGNS images as i am the visiting artist at ART WITH NO BOUNDARIES and
 RECYCLE, RE-PURPOSE and RE-INVENT for this month.
First up is a curio box, using the BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN..... loads of bits my Dad was throwing away..... plus nuts, bolts, candles, chain, bones, a skull, springs and mecharno toy bits.......

I faux rusted most of the metal pieces....painted and distressed the wooden box...and generally had messy fun!

Next is another page for my book..... hopefully to be completed this month..... the images and paper have been coloured with promarkers..... distressed with lovely black ink.....

....It would be great if you could come and join in this month at ART WITH NO BOUNDARIES as the challenge is HALLOWEEN/OCTOBER......and RRR where its HALLOWEEN/ with a bonus round of using BONES..... real or fake.... you dont have to have a chicken for dinner! DAY #15 0F THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, SMUDGY ANTICS and MACABRE MONDAY

WELCOME TO DAY #15 ..........today i have two new challenges to share with you, and loads of pictures of my pieces for these challenges. I am trying to alter a battered old dolls house into a Halloweeny haunted house for the last day of this month long hop.... one room is now completed...YAY! Shame the outside is still in primer and the rest of the inside totally untouched but .....its a start.

                                     The Challenge Theme for Smudgy Antics is

"Dia De Los Muertos".

THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN THE RULES.

Our Design Team will vote for ONE winner and that person will receive both a blog button and prize. You do not have to use a Smeared Ink image to win.  We pick the best of the entries so bring your A-game!

*Projects are not limited to cards.  We also accept and encourage mixed-media pieces, sculptures, art journal pages, etc.  Just be sure to use a stamped image somewhere in your project ("real" or "digi") and follow the challenge rules and you are golden :)

                                                Above is the DAY OF THE DEAD BEDROOM

The grave scene on the wardrobe, locker, and bed cover are from SMEARED INK as is the large cross tombstone on the wall.( all images are coloured with promarkers) The walls are covered in paper from my stash, the floors are covered with floor tiles(huge thank you to my DAD.... he did all the floors in the  dolls house last wednesday for me....) and i used a spiders web coaster as a rug.The skirting boards are a MS punch.

Now to the challenge at MACABRE MONDAY....

"Rest In Peace"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece

that has anything to do with cemeteries, coffins, headstones, or funerals.
Any and all things resting in peace. Or pieces...

So you can see now  how my project does fit both challenges...... i have gravestones on wardrobes but also a resting place...the BED!

I decorated the tiny skulls, DOTD style with sukura pens.... used tiny candles and made holders for them... tiny metal roses. I stamped on some tea stained cotton to make the bedcover and made cushions from felt.
All the furniture has been painted and distress then had the images added.I think i'm gonna leave these pieces matte.... but i might vanish them at a later date... we'll see.

DAY #14 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

Happy Sunday to you all and welcome to DAY #14.... its my turn to post on the DE-STEMPELWINKEL DT blog again.... they must be getting a little bored with me by now.... me thinks? I have just an ATC to share today.... Lisa (b-creative) tells me its not cheating to do just one ATC.... so ONE it is :)

I have used CHERRY PIE STAMPS....greys and yellow promarkers and loads of lovely ink to colour my images.

Today you also have the chance to win one of my altered dolls..... TERRA does the random draw, and has the rules listed on her blog. You get to pick the one of these dolls you hate the least! ( the doll on the right of the  back row was won last weekend by Kapree....so shes not available now)

DAY #13 OF THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

                                       Welcome to day #13...... Happy Weekend to you all....

                                  My offering today is a carousel horse.....'' crypt'' i think its called from
                                                             THIRD COAST STAMPS
Stamped the image then also did a reverse image for the back..... fussy cut.... the pole for the galloper is a straw strengthened with a skewer...the pole goes between the two images so the back looks half decent.....the base is an old ribbon reel, decorated with DP , MS graveyard punch and glitter. An altered skull adorns the top. Another Halloween ornament for the collection. I've a busy day with the girls.... a party for them to attend and  i'm 'baby' sitting my step grand- dragon.... shes 7 like my own girls...its chaos here this morning.

DAY #12 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, DELICIOUS DOODLES and DE-STEMPELWINKEL.

Welcome to day #12 a new challenge at DELICIOUS DOODLES and another of my days at DE-STEMPELWINKEL.
First then....its a new challenge at DELICIOUS DOODLE....MONOCHROME....we want you to create some thing shades of one colour plus blank and or white.

                I've made a couple of ATC's.... i always feel that i'm cheating if i only made one......

                                       I use Teris new GRAVEYARD and MALICE.........

........on the other BLACK WIDOW...both are coloured in shades of RED promarkers.... ink distressed, and mounted onto black base card stock. Hope you'll come and join us this.

Now its another day for me to post on the DE-STEMPELWINKEL design team blog.... not sure if its a guest day or a regular day....but it really doesnt matter.....i though i'd do a 'fun' piece .....

                                                                 A WITCHES SHOE

I altered an old shoe from a charity shoe.... i did buy a pair ...so i can do another....i built the shoe up at the back, the front and the toe with card, and papier mache (spelling is probably wrong :) I painted it in green, orange and purple.

I used loads of glitter gems ribbon and creepy crawlies to decorate it.

The image is from DE-STEMPELWINKEL....stamped with versamark and brushed over with perfect pearls.

Its way over the top..... but such fun to make..... i might try to get the other one done before the end of the 31 days but in a more gothic/ spooky way.

DAY #11 of the 31 days of Halloween

Welcome to day #11 .... where do the days go? I have so many things half made...drying... or screwed up and thrown away..... today i have a card to share with you..... eeek! a card..... but it is my kind of card.....

............. 'For the one i love at Halloween'..... nice hey? It was actually made a few months ago as the partner to a tag at DRAGONS DREAM..... the image is embossed onto a bit of a aluminium serving tray from my Nans wake..... i still havent started on the ones from Grandads..... i have one hell of a stash of these things now.....the rose is a stamped and layered...... and i kept it to use during the 31 days on days like this.....

....days when my offering is just something i had to do to get something out of my system! Ladies of the SMEARED INK DT this is for us! WITCH BITCH are you?
Both pieces are coloured with promarkers.... the atc also has loads of ink..... the witches are CHERRY PIE.

Welcome to #10 .... today is a DE-STEMPELWINKEL day.... so all the stamps used come from Jetske's shop.

               These are the 1st 3 of a set i'm making, hopefully to make into another mini book very soon.

I used promarkers to colour the images..... which i stamped in 3 shades of gey ink..... i used the same 3 shades of ink for the distressing...... and shading......

.....i have tried to create a misty foggy feel to these atc's..... you know the old Hammer horror type thing?

DAY #9 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

Welcome to DAY#9 ..... today i have a couple of projects to share with you, and a reminder to check out ART WITH NO BOUNDARIES CHALLENGE and RECYCLE RE-PURPOSE AND RE-INVENT where i'm their visiting artist this month.

I made another book page using the dreamy image COSMOS from CS DESIGNS . I coloured her with promarkers and ink.....kept her quite dreamy looking but with a dark edge.... the sentiment is also from CS DESIGNS.... printed onto safmat and added over my image....i then had to use a green gel pen to make it stand out more.

I used paper from PINKPAISLEE that i coloured with promarkers and ink.... MS spiders web punch... cobweb ribbon and plastic spiders.

The words say...'theres a little bad in all of us''..... very true too!
Next up is a recycled shandy bottle.... my Dad goes through a case of these a week so i'll never be short of the bottles.....

I painted it with a rust effect.... used a cork from the wine Dad drank a few weeks ago.... some garden hemp twine.... some plastic bones. old beads and a metal ring from my broken jewellery stash.
The image is from CS DESIGNS.
This faux rusted metal bottle will make a great prop for halloween....hope to get more made soon. The full hope list is on my side bar. See you all tomorrow for DAY #10.

DAY #8 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN, SMUDGY ANTICS and MACABRE MONDAY.

                    Today i have a double offering.... two pages for the book i hope to have finished for the last week of October. Both using SMEARED INK images.... real rubber(YAY... check out the new rubber club...) and digi.
After yesterdays bright creepy cute offering...i'm feeling much more myself with these two dark, haunting , macabre pages.
                          The Challenge Theme for Smudgy Antics this week is

"Movie Madness".

Art is inspired by many things.  We want to see what kind of inspiration you can get from a movie.  Being October, I would suggest a scary or creepy movie of some sort.  If you insist upon making a Tinkerbell project, which will surely result in projectile vomiting on LADY B's part, then feel free to do so.  
*We do ask that you state the name of your movie of choice in case it is not evident to others looking at your project.

 The movie i based my page on is THE RAVEN..... i do love Poe and any chance i get to be inspired by this work i'll take.

                    I used digi images from SMEARED INK 'QUOTH THE RAVEN' and a real stamp (RAVEN)  from the same set but in rubber, which will be available again to the rubber stamp club members very soon. I coloured the whole piece in with promarkers and ink.... loads of black ink to distress the edges and then matted it onto my book page. Hope you'll join us this week...... there are millions of films to be inspired by.

"Bats in the Belfry"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece

that has anything to do with a bats.  Think belfries, church steeples and all round general battiness!

 The images are all SMEARED INK, coloured with promarkers and ink.... lots of lovely black ink to distress the edges. The moon is just a drawn on circle coloured in....i'd really like a large moon stamp.... i have smallish ones but sometimes you need something bigger.

DAY #7 of the 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

                        BE AFRAID...... THIS POST IS THE SCARIEST ONE I'VE DONE SO FAR......
                          ..................... CREEPY CUTE!

I was forced to make this door hanger....i do mean forced..... pouty lips and huge sighs.....
you know what 7 year old girls can be like....... one of my twins and my step-grand daughter made me do this.............. the other of my twins has better taste and thinks its hideous!

The MDF plaque has been distress painted  orange and green. The ghosties are rub-ons.... the spiders webs from INKADINKADOO are embossed with sparkly black embossing powder.... the above photo is the true colour.... it really is that bright!
