I had so much fun with this theme... that I actually did 3 pieces....
2 I'll show today, the 3rd I'll show on my next SMUDGY ANTICS post on Sunday.
I played with stamps and clay again....

I used SMEARED INK RUBBER for all 3 pieces.... gorgeous quality...so deeply etched....
look at the detail below.


I used an embossing folder to get the brick-stone effect.

 Can you believe it....? Usually when I play with clay and make fairly large pieces they break
and crack.... NONE of these pieces did! So i had to deliberately break them to get the cracks
required!

Again look at the detail in the clay... love it!
I painted both with acrylic black paint then dry brushed with grey and cream to bring out the detail
and give them a stone effect.

VALENTINE POE for SMUDGY ANTIC'S and QUOTH THE RAVEN

Happy Valentine's day...

or as I call it... enforced love day.

I have a fatbook page for you today,

dedicated to my love of POE.

 I used all SMEARED INK real rubber, stamped and masked... coloured with

alcohol ink and pencils.

You still have nearly two weeks to enter our challenge at SMUDGY ANTICS which is as always ANYTHING GOE'S, using a SMEARED INK image.......and 

nearly 3 WEEKS at QUOTH THE RAVEN where our challenge is FOR THE LOVE OF POE.

Today Is the launch of our new challenge at DE-STEMPELWINKEL STAMPERS, so I combined the two... cheeky I know but i'm just about all 'valentine'd ' out. Just an ATC to show.... our theme at DE-STEMPELWINKEL is RED.... this is just one of a few RED atc's i've made but the only BLOODY VALENTINE.

Kristy I have a stamped collaged ATC to show you today featuring POE...

 the stamps are a mix of SMEARED INK and DE-STEMPELWINKEL,

coloured with pencils.

 ALSO today I have a small altered box...

 I used embossed card to cover the outside, with metallic wax to highlight the embossing.

 Inside the lid I added a decoupaged heart... I used a SMEARED INK digi image for this,

printed out 8 times, coloured with alcohol inks, silicone to layer it up, i made a lining for the lid and used plastic mesh( the stuff you cover your guttering with) to keep the heart safe.

So thats it for me on DAY#2 ... next on the roll is Julia.... bet she has something great to share. Our challenge at QUOTH THE RAVEN has another 3 weeks to run... hope you'll have time to create something FOR THE LOVE OF POE. See you tomorrow for DAY #3. BDx

For my DAY #1 project I've combined it with my day posting to the
DE-STEMPELWINKEL DESIGNERS BLOG.
I altered a small round wooden box in a very NORMAL sort of way...

....well the outside at least.... when you open it you have a lovely skully smile!

I added a gothic gift tag...

...on the reverse you can add your own bloody valentine's greeting.

including how to get that texture on the tag.

SMUDGY ANTICS.... NEW RUBBER STAMPS.

YAY its Friday... and my turn to post on the

  SMUDGY ANTICS BLOG

today I have a couple of ATC'S using the new rubber stamps from

SMEARED INK.

These are large stamps but can still make very impressive ATC's.

 I used alcohol ink, ink, and pencils to colour the images.

 Gilding flakes around the edges and black card as mounts.

If you have never brought SMEARED INK stamps you'll be totally amazed at the quality...

honestly they are some of the best I own... and I own rather a lot of stamps.

NEW QUEST AT QUOTH THE RAVEN and DESTEMEPELWINKEL

We have a brand new quest for you starting today at

''FOR THE LOVE OF POE''

Well I do love the works of Poe so I used one of his poems,

''For Helen...'' as inspiration for my two projects.

 The first is a card... i stamped and masked all the images coloured with distress inks and pencils.

 All of the stamps are from DESTEMPELWINKEL

It is also my day over at the DESTEMPELWINKEL designers blog,

so I made a Poe ATC using the same stamps just positioned them slightly differently.

So sorry I cant get a better picture of this... it looks so much better in real life.

 Its so dark and yucky here with the hale and snow that using a flash is just draining the colours....

honestly the background has a watery effect to it.

Suppose it serves me right for not doing it really dark as i usually do.

These are my favourites out of this collection.... with the jelly fish and octopus being number #1 and #2

although i adore sea horses. I fussy cut all the images except the jelly fish with i used as the background.

I coloured the whole lot with water colours ..... which i think was a mistake as they are just not vibrant enough for photographing SORRY.
