We on the Smeared ink DT have a designers blog hop the last Monday every month,

unfortunately, this month because of  illness and various other personal issues its a very small blog roll.

Our theme this month... as chosen by Shoni is

MARCH MADNESS.

Every month in my house is madness.... 

I brought some really quaint little bird houses to alter....my girls saw them and wanted one each....

of cause one had to be pretty...the other creepy....

WELCOME TO MY MAD HOUSE (s)

 We wont dwell on the pretty one..... but here's a better look at the 'totally batty' house.

 I made panels to cover the house from clay,

 that I stamped using real rubber stamps from SMEARED INK

 ...painted plastic bats finished it off nicely.

Well thats my MARCH MADNESS..... TOTALLY BATTY!

SMEARED INK DT PIECE

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

Today I want to show you an ATC thats my DT piece for SMEARED INK.

Also I want to let you know about the SMEARED AND SMUDGED FORUM.

A friendly forum where dark artists, mixed media,steampunk, alternative and

vintage artists can share their work, join in with challenges, hops and chat.

This is an ATC that I have titled,

Ghost of Poe.

I used POE rubber stamp from the QUOTH THE RAVEN set 

from SMEARED INK rubber club and the poem ALONE by Poe himself.

CHUNKY ATC FOR DE-STEMPELWINKEL

Yay it's Friday!

It's my turn to post on the DE-STEMPELWINKEL designers blog again,

so I thought i'd have a play with stamps,

clay and a chunk of wood cut to ATC size.

 Just so you can see what she looks like stamped with ink and coloured up....

I added her to the back of the chuncky ATC.

DE-STEMPELWINKEL

I'm back doing what I like doing best...

ALTERING STUFF!

Although I am still trying to use stamps that have never been inked before,

3 of the stamps used on these drawers were totally un-used...

only the crackle effect had been inked up before this project.

The chest of drawers was well sanded, then painted, then really well sanded again so I had a super smooth surface for stamping on.

The sides have just one stamped image on, the top and front of the drawers have a stamped image that I masked off and stamped over.

I just sponged over the images with inks then sanded with a fine grade sanding block. I wanted to get a very shabby worn look to the chest of drawers.

Once I was happy that it did indeed look well worn I stamped all over every surface with the crackle stamp.

Finally a coat of semi-matte vanish and its good to go.

SMEARED INK DT POST

I have had a lot of fun this week....

altering boxes of various kinds, getting paint and ink on my hands....

LOVELY!

I got out my SMEARED INK stamps and found something to alter!

This is a box containing 2x packs of playing cards and 5x dice that I gave a make over to.

I used a stamp from the MORTE rubber set available from the rubber club.

I sanded the box really well...stamped the image on the front, colured it with promarkers, then carefully painted around it with the same red paint i had painted the box with.

I then distressed it with a fine grade sanding block.

This was actually   my project for the start of the challenge but blogger hates me sometimes and the post didnt go up.

See here is POE.... i have used the centre horizontal line.

This one I have made for my sister.... and i've used the right vertical row.

Did you guess that her favourite colour is purple?

Here you have both boxes together..... mine and hers!
