I Am Lynn Chong

In 4 days time, year 2007 is coming to an end. Like all other years, there were ups and downs, but year 2007 was a good year still and i am thankful to God for that. Let's look at some major events in lyn's life in year 2007:) 8. Year 2007, i graduted from NUS. Entering NUS was a dream come through, a totally by God's grace chance. In NUS, my values and thinkings were put to a great great challenge. Nevertheless the learning has been the most beneficial and enjoyable. Undergrad life pass faster than any of my other academic years but it has been the best learning period of my life, academically wise:) 7. Year 2007, i got my first full time job. First pay. I consider my first experience into the workforce, though a little challenging but still i landed on rather soft ground and protected environment. Work-scope wise, you have already heard my numerous lament. But i am thakful to God, He probably know if reality were to hit me one time straight in the face, i probably cannot ...

So i was chatting with the two from down under. It's nice to have people ask you " how have you been?" isn't it?:) More importantly, i manage to cheat free accomodation and food from one of them! haha! Let's keep the proof here!:)

Now, i'm writing this post not because henry asked me to. But i think mr chia's effort require some appreciation even though there's no picture of that brownie! Even if it's very hard for you to imagine, just accept the fact that Pookary Chia Ching Hwee made brownie! Yeah! He use that flour and butter and put it into the oven! And it was the most high-class brownie you can ever get, cause our dear Henry use the Cadbury Chocolate that i gave him for Christmas to make brownie............................................................... Where got people use all the good chocolate to make brownie!! Next time he's gonna use Godiva! But i shall forgive him, cause i had a share of the brownie and it's really not bad at all for a first time:) And now i found a person to discuss baking with me...:) Dao Yan, i'll be waiting for that chocolate fondue:) Henry - The director, the baker :)

Like before, this December has been a really busy month. This December has almost been like a non-working month. But this December was a very fruitful month. This december, i'm a very happy girl:) This decemeber, i was in the champion tribe for the very first time after so many years. I wanted to win. But more importantly, i just didn't want the 'all boys' tribe to win. Sometimes, man (man as in the sex and not man in general) are just so full of themselves. The things i heard them say about tribes with girls leading, make me detest these people. And boy was i glad to clinche overall champion with blue coming second:) Pre camp. The boys worked hard. I merely played a fool. But i have some contribution! see my feet? Yes, that's me holding the door open so that they can worked! haha! We stayed till close to 3 in the morning. It was hard work. Kudos to ah boon! Brown tribe rocks! I worked hard, i clap hard till i go blue-black. It was a costly camp when i need so man...

TGIF and it's 11days to Christmas! Our good mood is reflected by the colour of our blouse:) Second tinge of christmas:) i'm off for my christmas holidays! nobody in our office is coming to work over the next long weekend anyway! i think boss also no need to come lah! haha! :)

No particular reason for this entry. Just that i've been counting down and i've been waiting for it to be 12 days to Christmas. No particular reason. Just so that i can have a post with that title....:)

I've been stressing both of our tribe leaders. On seperate occasions, when i frantically reminding them to do these and that and providing suggestions, they said: " you're so cute!" i think they are too stressed by me that they go bonkas le lah! haha! but that reminds me of a conversation with LB some time ago. Lyn: ......You are so cute! LB: I don't want to be cute! I want to be pretty! How sad. What are we feeding into these young minds? She is cute and she is pretty in her own special ways. Her reply sends a chill down my heart. I do hope she grew to love who she is , be secure and never have to wish that she is something else .

It's a raining morning again. But at least cold weather adds to the Christmas feel:) I'm gonna predict that it won't rain on 17-19 Dec. At least it won't rain at Bishan! haha! I need a jersey, 2 brown shirts, 3 berms and a pair of sneakers for camp. 17-20 is camp. i have an nail appointment on 21st. 22 is bash and i need a dress. I leave the office at 615pm. i will only reach town at 715 earliest on non raining days. the mall closes at 9. how am i gonna buy all the prezzies and clothes?! Ok. i'm rattling on and on so that you guys know how impossible a task it is to get everything done. So if you don't get your presents, you can forgive me right? On a much happier note, seems like christmas eve dinner is progressing. somewhere really nice if all goes well. keeping my fingers cross. i hope we can still get the place at this date. can't wait! :)

First tinge of Christmas in the office:) I thought about leaving it untouch to add a bit of festive feel to my desk. But i think i just cannot resist the temptation.

So i am back from Nong Khai! Nong Khai was freezing for the sunny-island girl me! Though it's also cold back home but it's nothing compare to Nong Khai. It was an awesome trip! One of my best! And i didn't came to blog because i am busying catching up with work but more so because so many great things happen that it is simply requires too much hand and brain power to try to articulate the many things that happens! WeiJian told me last year that " how can someone go for mission-trip and their lives not changed?!" That would probably sums up my thought for the trip:) I am really thankful to God that i went for the trip!:) And if i am too fast for you at Maxx Hotel, during cell group or service, i can repeat for you again! haha! It's great to be back home! I am glad all back home are well! It's great to be back to greetings of "you are finally back!" I don't know if 10days were long for you guys back home. To dorc : I'm gonna miss you! i wish i have the time to write many entries for you so that you won't be bored. Take the time to focus on your work and get them all right k! So i'll already be in Thailand this time tommorow. Somehow i am feeling a little home sick already. haha! I am feeling very anxious also. My faith barrier, i am to overcome! The trip to town to get some stuff for the trip. All the food places are close after my shopping and i have to make do with coffee bean pasta. The girl at the corner, i do not know. But i was shocked to see her resting her legs on the table! T9. Our friend practically coax, threaten, force me to pack my bag in the late night of Saturday. And so i just have to eat that packet of noodles if i'm not asleep! I'm gonna miss the people back home! Be good or there goes your christmas present! haha! :)

This year PSLE scholar is a malay girl. And she scored.. 294!!!!! Highest in 16 years! I say WOW!

Exhausted: Physically that is. Expectations: It will be a good trip:) Emotions: I am scare, as always even after so many years of leading. Eager: Can't wait! The toil,the sweat, the harvest:) My first time sticking with fervour for the many days! Though henry might feel very unfortunate, i feel very happy! gonna rub shoulders with them , serve with them for so many days! Few years back, i struggle with exams and trip. Now, i struggle with work, trip and a weak body. But that's where divine intervention comes in, isn't it? I am scare but i am prepared. Some explanations, some words. It landed on the palm of a puzzled mind in 3minutes time. It became more puzzling upon seeing the content. I have a lot of questions and i'm very puzzled. I can also think of many reasons why it should not come to me. I think and think; it weights heavier in my heart than it's actual value. I had enough But my God provided more than enough:) So here i am today, richer than yesterday in many ways...:) I still feel very unsettling. i'll keep my little blessings till i hear a true explanation. The other day i dreamt that i went on the trip without bringing change of clothings. My current list of things to do for the trip is getting longer and longer just like my list of worries. Some of these worries are of course uncalled for and over exaggerated. I am getting anxious and edgy. But i will overcome it. My faith barrier, my moulding of characters. I shall not be defeated. So it was a usual Thurday afternoon after lunch and i was all sleepy until some crazy girl wake me up! So the phone rang. xxxx: Hello, can i speak to Miss Lynn Chong please. lynn: This is lynn xxxx: wahahah!kakakaka! hahaha! Then i knew.. lynn: Crazy ah! why you sound like that! (ok, she's sick so she sounds different and i cannot recognise her voice) If you haven already guess it's the seng gin piak aka Miss Dorcas Zhuo from Sales & Marketing Dept of Tour East Singapore Pte Ltd. As my lunch break is an hour earlier than her's this week, i was still thinking what time is she coming back. And so she did came back at the expected time and she called my office phone using her office's phone for the very first time! and apparently our crazy girl already tried calling me yesterday but i wasn't at my desk. So now i'm awake:)

So the week that went pass was spent celebrating birthdays. Chilling at Holland V, Eating at Kenny Rogers, Crapping at ECP and playing silly games at the arcade. Sleeping at 3am on saturday morning, waking up early on sunday morning for YI camp committee meeting, sunday night i hit the sack at midnight which is late for my recent standards. Thus i am sleepy till today but it was fun:) My financial consultant got to do their quarterly review. And they felt that my financial status is in such a bad state that they gonna employ another one to help me!haha! I din know that there's actually mushroom lasagne! And i am actually tempted by that rather than the meat one! The picture doesn't look as nice as it taste. Think the next time round we should just go to the dimly lit, better ambience suntec branch, rather than the marina one which is so bright.. My angle a bit biased.haha ! I will upload more silly pictures when Uncle Vintage sent us the pictures! *hint*hint* p/s henry...du...

So i am on my way to Mission Trip and YI camp is about 2weeks time:) " Never Wanna Be, Never Wanna Be Living Living Less Than All You Want For Me"

So i've been busy, busy getting exploited on weekdays and busy playing on weekends. Let's date-back..So i went "tomb-sweeping". See! Language are cultural specific, we dun really have an English equilvalent of tomb-sweeping! Afterwhich, i went to town with the kiddo to paint our nails, shop and of course eat!:) Yummy Muji Strawberry marshmallow:) Our favourite place for fish stemboat (crawford lane) marks the end of our weekend. So the weekend came and go. And it's weekend again! TGIF again...:) P/S on a totally seperate note, our house got a liitle bit of festive mood as one of Sugar's fan brought us some food. See! Our Sugar is even popular with the Indian Aunty!:)

No matter how dangerous, he refuse to abandon his friend. No matter how silly, he held on to his friend. No matter what happen, he will not leave.. They said greater is the one who ask for no reciprocality. I say it is mutual. If you can't be bothered, neither will i.

Yes we do:) Lyn: Cynthia, send me the guest list for PSC nite! So the email came 10 Nov: xxxx 17Nov:xxx 12 Dec: TBC Lyn: Cynthia, TBC is who? Cynthia: Erm.... Cynthia: TBC is To Be Confirmed.. Lyn:ooooohhhh..... haha!:)

The receptionist called. The representative from a media company in Singapore, whom unless you live in Bukit Timah Hill or you don't own a TV, you would know the company, arrives 15minutes before the scheduled timing. So i went out and meet her. When i reach the recept area, i only saw a woman sitting on the sofa. I was a little hesistant because erm..the woman sitting there didn't look exactly like she was here for business. She was dress in blouse and a skirt, she has a cotton handbag and a transparent bengawan solo plastic bag. I mean if you see her on the street, you won't take a second look, but after seeing all those that came in business suit, it just didn't dawn on me that it's her. So i turn to the receptionist and asked, is that her when she walk across and ask, Are you Lynn Chong? I must have look quite dumb to her because there was only 1 visitor sitting at the reception! haha! So the point is: In marketing, it's all about packaging. So now you know ...

This is You Sheng's very cute piglet for xwl. But the very strange thing is...he put piglet in a kennel! haha! But it's still cute! :)

So you see, it was another lazy Sunday afternoon, and Miss June and Mr Sugar refuse to move.. Happily, they watch tv and lie on the sofa the whole day.. While Miss Cinderellyn made them their lunch.. And then their tea-break And then their snacks And of course before you know it, sunday is over. :)
