This is a little late but we camped earlier this year with L's family and here are a few of the pics that we took.

Relay for Life
On G's actual birthday we woke her with a new present. She uses anything and everything she can find, where ever we go and makes a slide so we thought that would be an appropriate gift. She hadn't even torn off the sheet covering it when she proclaimed "My slide!" at the top of her little 2 yr old voice. She loves it and plays all the time. We went to breakfast and ate, yes you guessed it, BACON. We love bacon at our house and G has been known to sneak a stool over to the plate and have her share and then some before even getting noticed. I must have asked G what she wanted for her birthday 20 times that week and she just kept saying "PURPLE". (That has become her fav color.) So we made purple cupcakes with purple frosting and purple sprinkles. She loves that I give her the beater when I make yummies now. We spent the afternoon/evening/half the night with the Beach crew at the Relay for life for my brother Derek. Derek is fighting cancer with his second round of chemo and radiation. This is only our second year but its a great opp to spend time with the family and raise some money. Keep the smiles!
Gwen turned 2!!
I still cant believe that G has turned 2?!?! How is this possible? I was just pregnant, in the hospital, learning how to care for my own little girl and now...potty training, alphabet drills, swimming lessons. How did time go by so quickly? We had fun for the day. We took a little hike and had pizza and cupcakes at the peter piper, then games of course and silly token prizes all for her. It was a lot of fun. Happy Birthday Big Girl! Many more years to figure out how we got so lucky to have you be a part of our family.

Its a Race...
A few weeks ago L was planning to take a couple days off at the end of busy season and we were just planning a little staycation. Hang out and have fun locally. Newborns don’t travel so well. So I was searching for things to do and coupons for the Science Museum and came across something called Challenge Nation. Now we have become huge Amazing Race fans in the last 2 years and this sounded awesome. Run around downtown with 12 clues to different points of interest and complete a picture scavenger hunt. Sign us up!! (We got L’s sis and husband to compete against us as well). It was so much fun! We had a ball; saw things we had never seen, walked up and down streets I had only driven passed on the way to ball games and even learned a few things about my state. We had an exhausting and amazing time. We were only sad when we got the text telling us that Team TNT had beaten us. But we kept going and finished about 25 minutes later. Finishing 205th place! Yippee! (Its endurance that counts right?!?) Met up with Team TNT and got pretty razzed since there had been a substantial amount of smack talk swapped in the preceding days. But things turned and got that much better when we found out that Team TNT hadn’t been able to finish due to extenuating circumstances (they were pooped out). We had a great afternoon together, learning a little bit more about communicating and keeping our cool (we lapped a couple blocks more than once in our efforts to solve clues). We can’t wait for next year though. It was good times and we hope we can con a few more of you into joining us. Enjoy the slideshow!
numbers and letters
Like I said, G is getting her letters and numbers and I still can't believe just how crazy fast she is learning. I have started doing more at home so that I don't stunt her development since she seems to be catching up to me entirely too quickly. It wont be long before she outsmarts me...
Potty Training
We were laying in bed just last night saying "How can it have been 2 years since G was born??" We are both in denial but time has passed none the less and as she gets older, any parents knows, getting out of diapers is a challenge that we look forward to with much dismay and excitement mixed into one crazy emotion. Here is her first day out with no diaper, no pull up, just good old fashion granny panties. What a big girl!! (Sorry for bad pic. It looked so great but the glare sort of killed the great shot I was looking for.)
